CCR has always been one of my favorite groups from the 60's-70's. John Fogerty has one of the most unique & recognizable voices around. They don't have a bad song! Huge list of hits! "I Heard It Through The Grapevine", "Proud Mary", "I Put A Spell On You", "Fortunate Son", "Down On The Corner", "Green River", "The Midnight Special", "Susie Q", "Travelin' Band", "Run Through The Jungle", "Long As I Can See the Light", "Sweet Hitchhiker", "Bad Moon Rising" etc.
CCR stands the test of time. I was born in 94', but they are my favorite band still. Driving the back roads with my father blaring their greatest hits CD. Fond memories.
The best fishing ever! My grandpa was in Port Arthur and we would always fish in the bayous. My family was from St. Martinville. Threw my dad's ashes in the river when he passed. This is everything to me.
The incomparable John Fogerty, still out there doing concerts. Another of the great bands of my generation. I always love your passion, and your insight. You know what's shakin' in most if these songs and the quality that they have. Thanks for sharing and commenting.
John Fogerty's raw, gritty, incomparable voice! This one always gets me. "I put a Spell on You" and "Heard it Through the Grapevine" are a couple more of my faves. Great reaction!
In the Rick Clark interview, Fogerty explains: “Hoodoo is a magical, mystical, spiritual, non-defined apparition, like a ghost or a shadow, not necessarily evil, but certainly other-worldly. I was getting some of that imagery from Howlin' Wolf and Muddy Waters.”Dec 30, 2019
Dang.. we had the best music ever. Everything i watch someone reacting to our music it brings back memories of cruising on the highway with the ole 8-track blazing away.😊
His Dar was saying “Don’t let them. Put you in prison.” Not about avoiding a 9 to 5, but it says a little of good things that you interpreted it the way you did.
CCR had a swampy soulful sound that somehow fit right in with the heavier rock acts of the day. They could rock out too if you explore more of their stuff. John Foggerty, lead guitar & vocals, is still performing today.
I also love being and old lady almost 83 if I make it but that is up to the Good Lord. I just love you young people enjoying the older entertainers. Thank you and keep going. GOD BLESS.❤❤❤❤
They also sang in their song " Cotton Fields" ..." it was down in Louisiana just about a mile from Texarkanatalk, in them old cotton fields back home".
I've always loved CCR, but I also have always found it hilarious that they sing about the bayou and all of this when they are actually from Los Angeles, California..lol
One time some years ago a small alligator climbed a fence and hung out in my back yard pond. I did manage to call for a trapper to come get it. It was a young one but still dangerous. I had a pet goose and sometimes my little grandson, at the time, wanted to go to the pond and walk around looking at the fish and turtles. I live in south Florida so we never know when an alligator will wander by. haha Oh and that said grandson will turn 20 years old this year! Time flies and it's scary.
CCR is a band from the San Francisco Bay Area from an urban blue-collar town El Cerrito just north of Oakland . Stu Cook. Bass Doug Clifford Drums Tom Fogerty. Guitar / vocals John Fogerty. Lead guitar/ Lead vocals
Back In the mid 60's while stationed on the gulf coast of Mississippi I discovered New Orleans and fell in love with that city. I could actually understand them when they spoke to me! I needed a translator back in Mississippi LOL!
Ah Thanks! I grew up on CCR...Great song, but there's not a bad song in the bunch! John Fogerty is the singer, lead guitar, and songwriter. There wouldn't be a Creedence without John Fogerty. I actually met him by chance in NYC once, and he was so humble and sweet!
To most people on the planet, being able to hold a steady job and grind that 9-5 for their family is only a dream. Please be grateful for what we’ve built here. Cherish it because it could go away fast.
My favorite piece of trivia about CCR is that John Fogarty had never left California when he wrote this. So the classic swamp rock anthem was written by a SoCal boy! Not that truth has a zip code, mind you! Lol
You must do, CCR, Fortunate Son, it’s about the Vietnam draft where the poor people get drafted, And the rich people don’t have to go to war like Donald Trump.
I've never been to the Everglades but I know that's where they filmed the original Tarzan movies in the 30's to recreate the feel of being in Africa. Any way, this is a great record that I had❤
Alexander Graham Bell invented the first airboat. He called it “The Ugly Duckling.” --- me, when I hear this song I think and see the bayous of Louisiana.
This song always reminds me of weekend camping trips with friends. We would go up to Azusa Canyon in Southern California and party all weekend good fun times.
hoodoo is a religion practiced in the Caribbean and in southern U.S. It's the same as voodoo, it can also be a ghostly spirit as it's used in this song....
Great reaction! This is such a cool song from CCR and they have so many of them. I highly recommend checking out “Looking out my back door”, “Fortunate Son” and “Bad Moon Rising”. It’s such feel good music!!!
I’ve watched so many of your reactions in the last 24 hours. I think your channel will really go far and keep growing. That’s me in Australia in your stats. Anyway, I want to recommend our beloved Tim Minchin and his song Prejudice. Give it a listen please.
Thank you so much for supporting me, not sure when I’ll react to it but it’s definitely on the bucket list, I appreciate your suggestions as well! Much love🫶🏽
I didn’t let the man get me! I love taking care of horses The rewards I get are far more than monetary!✌️🤠 Ps. My mama was born on the Bayou. Dirt floor shack Louisiana swamps. Cajun Queen, she was quite a looker. My friends would come over to see my mom. It was a bit awkward for me.
Hoodoo is a magical, mystical, spiritual, non-defined apparition, like a ghost or a shadow, not necessarily evil, but certainly other-worldly. Also associated with Voodoo and Santeria. Just spooky bayou shit. 🤣
This is from MY era!!! Love being an old lady & seeing a young generation discover the great music!!! CCR !!!!!

Sounds like Little Richard.... especially on "Travelin' Band"
Hoodoo is a ghost are a supernatural thing.
cool. i always thought it was a local name for a raccoon. a ghost sounds much cooler LOL.
Thanks for explaining that!!
Hoodoo is a religion, not a ghost.
The dog is chasing a Hoodoo praticioner, a Hoodoo man or woman.
Thought that was Voodoo?
I'M FROM LOUISIANA AND I HAVE A BAYOU IN FRONT OF MY HOUSE AND NEW ORLEANS NOCKIN ON MY BACK DOOR ☮💜🎶 PEACE LOVE AND ROCK N ROLL.
Hopefully no hoodoos, lol! ❤️🇦🇺
So lucky! Possibly my favorite place on earth!❤❤❤
The best fishing ever! My grandpa was in Port Arthur and we would always fish in the bayous. My family was from St. Martinville. Threw my dad's ashes in the river when he passed. This is everything to me.
Creedence is one of the best bands of all time, every song is great.
One of the SWAMPIEST songs in Rock and Roll history!!
CCR has their own vibe and it's awesome every single time
YES! ❤
The incomparable John Fogerty, still out there doing concerts.
Another of the great bands of my generation.
I always love your passion, and your insight.
You know what's shakin' in most if these songs and the quality that they have.

Yeah, you GOTTA hear Run Through the Jungle!!
Got to... Fortunate Son kills it especially for what was going on those days.
One of America’s finest singer songwriters. And he’s from Northern California. At the time he’d only been to the South while in the military.
Hoodoo a supernatural being, witch, ghost. Good one. CCR doesn't have a bad one. Love Fortunate One. Give it a listen.
Except for the last album. Don't think I'm a CCR hater. I'm not. I've liked them since I was in the Navy in the 60's. The last album was bad. ✌
i love Creedence,(they are my favorite band) they are the most underrated band ever, i wish they were remembered more.
Hoodoo (Ghost, witch, something supernatural).
Yeah, you in to some solid music now, my brother. Great reaction!!!!
they had a cool sound for a bunch of guys from el cerrito california....
John Fogerty's raw, gritty, incomparable voice! This one always gets me. "I put a Spell on You" and "Heard it Through the Grapevine" are a couple more of my faves. Great reaction!
You'd love Creedance's song "Traveling Band" too. It's only a little over 2 mins long, but it's straight fire from beginning to end!! 🔥
Oh, man, CCR is a huge rabbit hole... Love it!
Always listen to CCR while I'm driving. Love their vibe....still blows my mind they're from California.
Need to check out "Green River". They jam.
👏👏👏 Green River
You absolutely MUST react to "Heard it Through the Grapevine", but react to the "long/extended" version. You won't regret it.

Hard to believe these guys are from El Cerrito, California and not deep Lou. Must have channelled that ol' Hoodoo!
Love CCR.
His Dar was saying “Don’t let them. Put you in prison.” Not about avoiding a 9 to 5, but it says a little of good things that you interpreted it the way you did.
Louisiana born and raised. I LOVE your reactions. The Everglades are in Florida though. Much love.
one of the best and strongest of the rock bands from the 60s, largely due to the fact that john fogarty ran things in the studio with an iron hand.
Grew up on CCR music. Never gets old!!!
Great reaction! I grew up in the South and when I go back down there, this song comes to mind! BTW - Hoodoo dare is a ghost or something.
CCR ! Woo-Hoo! Rock on...love me some CCR!
CCR had a swampy soulful sound that somehow fit right in with the heavier rock acts of the day. They could rock out too if you explore more of their stuff. John Foggerty, lead guitar & vocals, is still performing today.

This song is based on the state of Louisiana and CCR is a great band
This is that Louisiana swamp music lol I've never thought of Florida when I heard CCR 😂
I've always loved CCR, but I also have always found it hilarious that they sing about the bayou and all of this when they are actually from Los Angeles, California..lol

I mean, if you don't love this jam then there's something wrong with you lololol
Also, you're right, the Everglades is an incredible place.

Excellent reaction!!! A Hoodoo is a ghost, or someone who practices voodoo . Great song.
There is swamp all over Louisiana.
CCR was a huge band in the day, just order some of their CDs, everything they do is lit. Great reaction as usual.
And If you want some more of that bayou sound check out Jerry Reed "Amos Moses".
A hoodoo is something supernatural.

Hoodoo is a magical, mystical, spiritual, non-defined apparition, like a ghost or a shadow, not necessarily evil, but certainly other-worldly. Also associated with Voodoo and Santeria. Just spooky bayou shit. 🤣
