Everybody thought these guys were from the south. They were from El Cerritos California.

Correct it's 'El Cerrito' though 👍
Carla definitely gets the CCR vibe and John’s vocals!!!! More please!!!! So says Austin Tx!!!! 😎🍸
Maybe the best CCR song before the split. I've loved this song since the first time I heard it.
CCR was a great band. I often wonder if it wasn't called swamp rock because of John's voice, and the band just built the instrumentals around it.
That definitely would have made sense!
"Born on the Bayou" does epitomize their swamp sound, for sure. Try one of their deeper cuts like "Walk on the Water".
CCR was a San Francisco, California area band.
They put out some of the greatest songs out John can play and his voice is unique, like all things it ends members get into and break up they sold out statadium that hold 65,000 people they are from California but got the Orleans sound
Carla: “What beat are you on?” 😂😂😂💜💜💜

Sounds like Tina Turner funny you should say that! Y'all should check out CCR song called Proud Mary, and then follow that up with Ike&Tina Turner's cover of Proud Mary.

John went all in on the kinda southern swamp rock for lack of a better phrase. He did his homework and used the line that his old hound dog chasing Hoodoo's which is based on an old African American early religion but refers to a spirit/apparition which his hound dog might be able to detect and chase after through the swamp as he says.
He's referring to spirits that live in the swamps. Native Americans inhabited these places first
