You know, I figured why I like your videos so much. Like how you say you feel you know these people of history (however one-sided the relationship), the way you present this information to your audience is like we're just having a conversation (however one-sided it may be). In this video you're sitting in front of a messy bookshelf that obviously hasn't been set up for show. Other videos, you're basically just sitting across from me at your kitchen table, which is probably the most casually intimate setting in Western society. It's nice and feels natural. I'm a little concerned that pointing this out will make you self-conscious about it, if you weren't doing it on purpose. Though if it's what you're going for, then you have the right to know that it works! I like your presentation style very much!
