an explanation to DEATH : basically melanie has had the “character/persona” of crybaby since around 2014/2015, she’s gone through being born to her death, death is about the evolution of crybaby and how she is growing in a spiritual aspect , as in the album CryBaby, we saw mel grow and in K-12 we saw her go to “school” and learn, now she’s growing spiritually. In K-12 there’s a part where they say “you start in the womb and end in the tomb “something along those lines… if you look at the track list , DEATH is first and Womb is the last song, portraying that mel is in fact starting a new journey :)

Don’t mean to offend but u didn’t exactly say the meaning of death u just kinda told the plot. For example towards the end of the song she says something about even tho her appearance seems morbid she is still the same person and you shouldn’t worry. I just think you left out some things yk 🙃

it's also worth noting that there are 9 swords in the scene with melanie's body and the nine of swords is a card in tarot which is associated with anxiety and fear, basically all the things that keep you up at night, death being an idea that causes many anxiety, or some may be afraid of death. I don't know if that was intended but it makes sense
It's also amazing how she did a whole concert with that face application... that has to be so hard to breathe in, let alone perform in.... she truly is amazing!
Yeah. I was wondering if she will stop doing the face thing after some time. It must be exhausting to perform with that on. Give her trouble breathing and also so much additional heat, which is already very hot on stage with all the lights and the bouncing around.
@@chelseas.horizon2222 believe she is wearing a mask now instead of the prosthetics so I’m thinking it’s a bit easier to breathe in and perform in, although I’m sure it can still cause problems if she continues wearing it almost every night, especially with it being warm on stage.

The coolest thing about this album is that it’s a full cycle if you listen in order at the end it says again life is death is life is… and then death startes playing again it’s beautiful
When she first released this song i didnt really like it because its so new and out of her style(which is the point) but it grew on me after a few listens and its one of my favorites because of how ethereal and rock it sounded like 😭

Mhm I agree! I love when artists explore deeper, darker concepts that, to the normal consumer, may seem off putting. Death is such a versatile and deeply layered topic with so many notions of how it’s perceived and it’s not talked about nearly enough. Melanie isn’t really evoking fear of death I think, for of the opposite and that’s just so cool to me! Even during the whole Crybaby era, the way she has always visually and lyrically painted things is something you never see artists do. NF has done it quite a lot, so has BTS. But I really can’t recall other artists taking that artistic route so I completely agree, this is very cool :0
I know what the songs about but when applying it to my own life, she's the first artist to make me feel peace about the love of my lifes death. She helped me a lot

I wasnt a big fan of this song when i first heard it but this helped give me a fresher perspective! I liked the sceaming part a lot i hope she goes more into something darker since shes always possesed that quality
So the song WOMB ties back into the story if the SONG death. Where the fetus being the soul is being born from the womb, that is, the human body. The worldly experiences shaped who she is in spirit and so that soul is being reborn into this being that isn’t crybaby and she’s telling the fans that she’s evolving and that their words mean nothing (words being their discontent about her changing her sound etc) and to just meet her here in this world of change.

I don’t talk about death for many of reasons, one reason is 3-4 years ago my step mom talked about death and I was not ok after it it took me 2 years to recover from the trauma it gave me also I was around 7 years old so the thought of death scared me and I would constantly have bad dreams and cry at the topic and sometimes my eyes water and my anxiety kicks in when I think about how I will die someday

I noticed this too! 9 of swords is usually connected with fear and anxiety, and with all these mushroom visuals, I can’t help but think this entire album is about shrooms and their amazing healing effects surrounding the mind/trauma. Maybe instead of literal death, she plays into ego death, organic guidance and acceptance ❤️

I like what you’re saying about there’s much more to death than how people see it. Yes people die. What about it? I think all living organism including us humans has souls and I think that the soul lives on than our physical bodies. There’s something mysterious about the other side or an unknown world where souls of the deceased goes to after death. We’ll never know until we die and experience the afterlife and might as well have questions you have in the back of your head.
I feel like this song death changes the way I see life and death. Because I’ve been feeling all sort of emotions for my entire life and been struggling with mental health and depression. What I learned is that pain and suffering is temporary on earth and our souls are free of everything that pains us or makes us suffer.
