In my POV every music video ending the creature travels to another portal hence the name of the album PORTALS. At the ending of TUNNEL VISION she descends into a portal which she now emerges into a new “dimension,” - each time she travels she starts transforming/evolving.
So, FAERIE SOIRÈE is about, Going on a trip induced by psychedelics. So at the end, All the dancers most likely died from the drug or pass out. BUT, Crybaby (Melanie Martienz's character) is a nymph. So she didn't die, and when she goes on the flower and it close with her sleeping. That will go to the next music video "Light Shower". People think that it will be released on March 31,2024 because its Melanie Martinez's 3rd Album 1 year anniversary. (Portals). Because she released FAERIE SORIÈE on February 9th. (That was her 10th year of releasing her first ever song "DOLLHOUSE"). That's what I know!! Bye!!!

In the story of this album PORTALS, this song tells how the character of Melanie arrives in the fantasy world after death and how all the fairies receive her. This music video is about (in my interpretation) a wanting and longing for a break from reality.
The dancers are seen using needles connected to mushrooms which are a common psychedelics, you can see in the next shot of the merry-go-round that the dancers are acting silly, some are laughing, doing funny faces, and eating moss, they are high.
I feel like this is just a small break from all of the gloomy stuff the character has experienced in the past music videos.
In “FAERIE SOIRÉE” Melanie Martinez is on a mushroom trip-trying to stay away from the hallucinations around them, and in the end she gives herself in, to escape.
The song continues the same alternative electronic dream-pop that Melanie uses throughout the PORTALS album. Additionally, it’s the fourth track on the album.
A demo of “FAERIE SOIRÉE” was originally leaked on November 4th, 2022. The song was performed live a year later by Melanie herself in Lollapalooza, Argentina.

I’m pretty sure that’s an IV but from the earth since they are faeries. This song is about a an occasion where you are having a shroom trip with friends. “Laced with love intensive grooving.” She is not dead the character transforms as every song progresses through the album.

I interpret the song to be inspired by a mushroom trip and also the fae from ancient European folklore. Fairy type creatures that capture people in their circle and force them to dance. The videos is sort of based in the afterlife, between lives, which is why the album starts with the song Death and ends with Womb. Every song transitions into the next including the first and last tracks making the album and endless loop (she starts and ends the album with "death is life is death is life is death"). The fairy creature is her spirit. The song at the end she says "gather me, all of we, I've been the boys and the girls, and everyone in between" referencing the many lives she's lived and their collective experiences. The whole album is very conceptual and based in fantasy, yet the songs are all rooted in reality and relatable which is so smart. She's going to make a video for every song so I can't wait for more!

Its actually rather beautiful. The whole album is about rebirth and finding light and beauty in the ugly and the dark. I honestly adore melanie. Shes completely amazing 👌
The album is about the experiences of the afterlife in another realm until the rebirth of the soul.
Each song tansitions to the next telling a continuos story about the afterlife process described in books about regressions and hypnotherapies.
The album starts with the track Death and ends with the track Womb which describes the start of a new being. Everything in between is what has been described as the process a soul goes through, void is the second stage, then a tunnel, then greeted by other souls in Fairee Soiree, then a cleaning process of the soul with light and so on….
Each track not only describe that process but they all have multiple meanings that can be applied to our life experiences, this song very much also describe the feeling of being high just like Void also describes the anxiety and overthinking and self criticism that makes us spiral. So don’t take one interpretation as the right one, she wrote every song with multiple meanings while they all connect to each other as one continuous story within the album.

the song is about the feelings you get after drugs. You are happy and dizzy just like in the first part of the song. Then everything turns back to normal. The „somewhere on venus” part where the tempo slows down is about the drug effect stoping. When she starts climbing the flower it symbolises going out of drug addiction and finding peace

How I personally interpret it, is the faerie soirée is an escape, an intoxicating greener grass on the other side, and she wanted to give into it. The switch up is her coming back to a reality, knowing she has a higher purpose and then she embraces that

You really should start reacting to her discography in order. Becausw she tells a story about her character Crybaby. In her first album “Crybaby” she tells us about Crybaby’s traumatic childhood with drvgs and family issues, in her second album “K-12” she talks about Crybaby’s schoollife in a narcissist school (she also made a film of the album you should watch it) in the end she escape k-12 and enters a portal that lead her to the last album “Portals”, in portals, Crybaby dies and reincarnates to a pink four eyed creature that has to experience life( as the first track is “Death” and the last “Womb”). She also made a ep “After school ep” it has Nothing to do with Crybaby’s storyline but Its a really good ep.

Hii!! I love when you react to melanie martinez and the meaning behind this song is about how melanie loves magical stuff, thats why they put mushrooms in the needle, it shows how she loves mushroom and fairy forest stuff she wants it in her blood!
The end is probably like she’s working for hard for the true love because its in the period of the intrerlude of faerie soíree to light shower, and when she lays in the flower it may mean that she is resting because she has found someone who could be there for her and will love her.

I want to write a few pages essay about the song and the MV, but I’ll just say it’s about escapism, and drugs are one of the ways to escape reality.
Edit: looked at other comments and agree with most of them. Melanie often says that she writes songs in multiple layers, especially this album. So yeah, escapism, after death experience (regression therapy), fairy folklore, and probably much more.
