@@philipp7095 If the first two minutes took you over an hour then you are clearly not ready for this stuff yet, the first two minutes is pretty much all basic blender fundamentals.
In 4.0 + versions of blender you can't use normal coordinates of a light for texture mapping, because when you increase the spot light radius the normal blurs. Better use UV coordinates.
@polyhmm. Geometry > normal aren't working for me in 4.0.2. Thought I tested all the geometry coordinate nodes outputs and the only ones that doesn't get blurred and have have the same data as "Normal" is Geometry > "Incoming".

Great video! Unfortunately I cannot select "pin" in the "Store named attribute"-node. It does not appear in the dropdown menu. I only see "sharp_face", "position" and "UVMap". Does someone know why I can´t select pin in the node? I am currently using Blender 4.0.

Great tutorial. Everything worked for me but I do have a question. When I increase the subdivision level from "one" to "two" within the geometry node then bake, my cloth looks crumbly. Subdivision one works but increasing the geo node subdivision any further produces less than satisfactory results. Any idea on how to keep the fidelity but increase geo to make for a smoother cloth sim ? Thank you in advance
one way to solve is if you add more subdivisions then scale up the objects all of them basically it's unable to calculate more geometry in same scale so needs more scale

@@tomiwadaniel4665 I've had a similar issue to what u described and found the solution by paying very close attention to the part between min 3:00 - 5:30. That part where cleverpoly selects the edges in edit mode and scales down the selection to 0 afterwards, that solved for me bc I kinda zoned out and didn't follow step-by-step as what he did. Try focusing and following every single action he's doing there and you might get it fixed. hope it helps.
I also made sure that that same small pixel selection is on top of a black zone of the logo. I only used B&W ones so far, this is something u might want to check and not use colorful logos, only dual-tone.

i tried to use an animated Letter instead of using an image to push this animation to it´s limits. The image texture node in geometry nodes has a Frame value that i´ve keyframed but when i bake it only the first frames are showing the pinned letter but then it goes wild an just flying away without any pinned stuff. Do you think there´s a away to achieve this?
@@cleverpoly i made a quick black and white eevee animation as mp4 with the letter "B" rotating on the z axis and a frame. No matter if i invert the colors or not. there is something not working. In the animation i can see the letter starts to rotate but just the irst frames. The graph editor shows a stepped curve that i cant change to real linear but thats maye a geometry nodes thing.
it should work I dunno why it's not working for you, did you confirm your final black and whie output and what geometry you are pinning and everything, make you think about it and do every thing right it's kinda complicated
Yeah lol, as a note I think that's why his first bake is "inverted" and he needs to set the pressure to -25, it's because the plane he is using has the "outside" on the bottom, while a normal plane will have the face orientation upwards.
I am not a beginner in Blender, I have a strong computer, I have the 3.6 version and did each step exactly like it shows in the tutorial (twice) and it is not working! I am so confused! Any ideas why anyone? Thank you!!

First part overcomplicate: you could way more easily add the outer border in any image manipulation software (Gimp, Krita, Photoshop, ..) and next, have you ever heard about "images as plane" included add-on? Or just adding a textured plane? The way you suggested results in flipped normals, which leads to issues. And lastly, instead of repeating Shift+R to increase subdivs, there's a useful box in the bottom-left corner, where you can set the amount of subdivisions by typing the desired value (handy for those with slow PCs and it avoids flooding your Undo chronology). Title a bit misleading, maybe it's my fault but I thought you were going to reproduce a cloth simulation into geometry nodes!
Thanks for the feedback, I do tutorials for fun and do it the way they are fun for ME. there are always better ways to do certain things in blender. Making my tutorials fit for everyone is not my goal, my goal is always to introduce more Possibilities and do experiments that fit into my niche.

Sometimes people have difficulty with cloth sims in blende or their pc isn’t powerful enough. Just offering an alternative. You should look into it as well if you have some time!

You can use the Node GEOMETRY and get the incoming vector from that which should solve this problem of light not blurring out.

Instead of baking again after changing the pressure to minus, you can turn the camers up and move down. Because face fliped. 😂
