The dress scene was Walt disney's favorite animation of all his films

Fun fact: Canonically, even though it's not mentioned in the film, in the early storyboards, Lady Tremaine's first name was mentioned as being Madonna.

30:21 really reminds us to be grateful of our blessings, even how little they are. Cinderella really taught me to be humble and thankful. Funny enough I love her more now I'm older than I watched this as a kid 💙

I think Cinderella's dress is coloured blue for the merchandise so it would be more recognisable rather than looking more like a wedding dress.

I would love to see a doll of her wearing a silver dress though, ooo and a wedding dress doll, I’d be buying it for my daughter of course… not partly for me ☺️

Well, Disneyland was in construction during Sleeping Beauty's production, so he named it Sleeping Beauty's Castle for promotional purposes. The film was planned to be released in 1955 but got pushed to 1959 due to story issues, the did market it through Disneyland though, not only with Sleeping Beauty's Castle but also with a walkthrough attraction telling of the Sleeping Beauty using early concepts ( like character designs etc ) of the movie . Again, the park opened 4 year's before the film's release , here's some more Fun fact: The actress Betty Lou Gerson who narrated the prologue of Cinderella later on played Cruella DeVil in The 101 Dalmatians from 1961 , Hellene Stanley was the Live Action reference for both Cinderella and Aurora, Eleanor Audley was the live action reference as well as the voices for both Lady Tremaine and Maleficent ( during Sleeping Beauty's production she was battling with tuberculosis ), Ilene Woods didn't even audition for the part of Cinderella, she was a singer that sung for the demos and Walt Casted her on the spot ... Cinderella's Film adaptions go back to the 1870's while the story itself dates back to 27 A.D with the Greek tale of Rhodopis.Walt was faaaaar from the first to adapt any of the popular tales ( Snow White, Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty,Peter Pan etc .. ) in film ( or specially animation,There was a Betty Boop Cinderella short from 1935 . Walt Also made a Cinderella short all the way back in 1922 with his first studio Laughogram Studios ) , but it's proof that he was a storytelling Genius when you consider the fact that lots of Disney additions to those stories are seen by pop culture as being part of those stories.People are waaay more familiar with Disney's Version of Cinderella ( 1950 ) than they are with Perrault's tale ( 1697 );.Here's Perrault's Version of the tale, read it and you'll understand what I mean ... Enjoy: sites.pitt.edu/~dash/perrault06.html

Lucifer didn't die cuz cats can fall from high places and suvive as long as they land on their feet. It's when the fall is too short that they will die from the impact when they break their backs.

@proudMudbl00D_6 If you watch carefully, you see that Lucifer flips over as he's nearing the ground so he'll land on his feet and therefore survive.

It would be kinda harsh of Disney to kill off Lucifer. Although they do have a reputation for making people/animals fall to their death. Thanks for watching 🙂

The original tale is French (collected by Charles Perrault) but the Disney version is designed to just be anywhere. Many of these adaptations swing that way, and in fact Beauty & the Beast seems to be the first to root itself in a real-life location. (The things done outside of fairy tales take the opposite approach, with films as early as Dumbo waving their nation of origin overtly on the screen.)
Fairy Godmother makes up the song as she goes, or at least took 5 seconds to sort all the words into sentences ... and then the song gets nominated for an Oscar. Not even joking. This happens about once a decade where Disney puts something on a music sheet without trying too hard, but once it's sung they instantly realize it's iconic and pushing it for awards is easy.
I'm incredibly grateful for how far the writers in general came from 1937 to 1950. Cinderella herself is a more fleshed-out protagonist even though the nuances are oftentimes lost on modern viewers. Rather than skipping her issues with the stepmother (like with Snow White and the Queen sharing no screen time), Lady Tremaine's influence on Cinderella's daily life is a key component and you get to see a motivating force in attending this ball. Having her own agency is the goal. The prince is just a bonus.
The film ended up saving Disney from going completely bankrupt after World War II. So in a way, we can blame Cinderella for Disney's chokehold on American culture. LOL.

Loll Lucifer has good points. He's a mouser and probably good at it if Cinderella didn't build their egos up. He's also super soft and plushy. He strikes me as the type that would not turn down a cuddle because all attention would be on him.
I'm pretty sure the main reason he's evil is because where friends with the mice and birds. 2 things out buddy has been employed to dispose of since we began sailing 😊.

True the chances of being heard are slim but my mother said something to me once that stuck with me before I went no contact. "I need to be lucky 1ce. You need to be lucky every time"
Needing to vent is understandable and reasonable but it's simply not safe in this environment. Bruno gets comfy enough with the behavior and someone will catch him eventually. He's just lucky it's been Cinderella so far.
These are the types of people that would tie rocks to a dog and drop it in a pond just to see if it could struggle out of it. Call it weak for not escaping death.
Not coming after anyone this was just a vital scene for me growing up in my own turse environment.
If I were to show this to my offspring and they were to question it I would explain that where she's living isnt safe. That she's living in a situation a lot of people used to be able to relate to and this mind set was a way to keep someone safe from immediate harm.

If you haven't seen it yet, you NEED to watch Cinderella 3. It is AMAZING! Though, Cinderella 2 isn't very good (it's not awful, it's just very middle of the road), but it does provide some context for certain things in Cinderella 3. But 3 on its own is just phenomenal. Arguably the best Disney Sequel ever made, and even a legitimately great film in its own right!

if you don’t know what i’m talking about there’s a joke where you say “nunya” when someone asks for your name or personal information. they will go “nunya?” or “what’s nunya?” and you’ll go “yeah nunya business”
