- This gameplay tutorial for Mechwarrior Online shows you how to utilize your Mech to it's best extent. I'll give you a rundown of the build and what it is made for and show you the actual combat role in two games on the battlefield.
Mechwarrior Online is a competitive first person shooter where you build and pilot massive Mechs and prove yourself on the battlefield. The game is based on the Battletech franchise, which originally was a science fiction tabletop game in the 80s. Big part of the game is configuring your loadout and find the best match of missile, ballistic and energy weapons for your playstyle. The weapon variety ranges from devastating autocannons over particle projectors to deadly arrays of laser beams. On the battlefield your team of 12 Mechwarriors fight the enemies on rather small arena-type maps. Teamwork is crucial here because a single Mech does not survive long if it steps in front a full firing line. Communication and teamwork is key on your journey to glory and victory.

I am using Haven Kendrick's Soundpack! Download it here: / haven_kendrick . To install, simply locate your Mechwarrior Online installation folder, open "Game" and you will see lots of .pak files. Drop the sound mod file into that folder with the other .pak files, restart the client, and you are good to go!

A little bit ago I remember everybody playing with X pulse lasers looking like an opening scene from the Terminator movies. Now all I see is the red thunderbolts streaking across the screen. A mixture of the two would be a trip!
The guy who Narc'd the mechs trying for a push is the real MVP on the first round (6:30), that player really turned the tide of the fight there, despite the enemy having an early advantage.Those missiles didn't stop hammering them and your mechs preserved their armor for the later fight.
I thought thunderbolts cannot benefit from a narc.........
They don't get the tighter spread, but it's still a constant lock to rain upon from safety@@picallo1

my video quality dropped at the moment so I couldn't be sure, but it looked like at about 7:10 you were firing at someone who was 80ish meters outside your range. I'm glad you didn't overheat yourself. 🙂

If you haven't already, try TB20s on the Mauler that was a recent freebie... You don't get the massive Missile Ear Towers that a Mauler usually has.

i think i would drop the cool down nodes for range, it might help with the heat
Thunderbolts are nice now. They are strong but not broken now. Still need a tweak to that CT seeking thing though. Though I had fun shaking people with a ton of T5s on chain fire. That was hell when you have the T5 chain fire going before they reduced the shake.
Try also Nightstar Wolf Phoenix with 4 Thunderbolt 10, 2 TAG, 300 LFE, 3 DHS (2 in engine). It cold even if fire all 4, have lots ammo and armor and very fun for me
I think since the patch the TB 15s are more lethal in targeting the enemy’s core. I swapped out my 10s for 15s after a few matches.
10 are more efficient on tonnage and dps and have even better spread than the 15's. But yes if you can boat 15's then its a good choice.

Hm, I'll stick with my good old lrm-Stalker.
I was looking in the mech lab at the thunderbolts and it says in the description that these missiles cannot benefit from Artemis, NARC or TAG. Is this true?
NARC and Tag can benefit from the lock-on time, not the reduced spread... because they have barely any spread. Artemis also cannot affect them, since Artemis reduces LOS spread by 25%... so.. Yeah. No spread to affect, those effects can't work.
But as Bara said at the start, TAG does negate ECM, which will speed up the lock-on.

you should modify this build slightly. take 1 thunderbolt 10 out pop in a bap and targeting computer to boost your lock speed and id wager it would perform better
