I never comment but felt I had to after Implementing this drill. I was struggling with consistency and low ball flights, when I did this today over the range pretty much every shot through all my irons were amazing. Thank you, please keep up the great content.
I tried this yesterday without any driving range practice and I increased my driving distance and 3 wood shots 40 to 50 yards effortless. I hope to make my shots even longer once I get used to this.
Great drill! After a few attempts I was getting the hang of it and able to hit the ball solid! This will always be apart of my range sessions moving forward. Thank you!
This has gone a good way to fixing my sequencing. I used to lunge at the ball with my upper half at the beginning of the downswing. This move, or more of a feeling, has slowed down my upper half and let’s me keep my head over the ball. My arms have more room and my release is better with chicken wing gone. It’s early days but this has made a real difference. Thanks Alex.
What a drill this is by the way, this makes the swing so effortless and has improved my timing and strike. It also feels like my sequencing has improved.
Clicked onto this video while drinking my wine, my game has deserted me, now feel I am wasting my time! This tip of Alex could be my key, something simple like this, or is it just me? Alex is spot on with his coaching which I am sure all followers will agree! Can't wait till tomorrow as my wine flows free! THANKS ALEX! - Cheers! hic.
@@TheArtofSimpleGolf Oh thank you Alex, you made my day, I have poetry in my head that is old and grey, hoping to play better golf the following day, when I do play well, it is down to your tuition - what more can I say, no wine allowed on the golf course as it would just get in the way! Your blog/tuition I tune into each day! You make it look simple in every way, I would love to meet you in person, but I live to far away, You deserve all the praise that comes your way! Thanks Alex!
I was wearing my ear buds listening to this so I tried right away. It worked like magic! Then it didn't work well, so I tried to modified this by thinking to push out with my right hand at the top, now it seems easier! Great tip!
It works (at least for now) so thanks. I almost completly stopped talking divots. This also meant a whole string of slighly thin shots but this is maybe a small price to pay
This is so simple its crazy. I have a tendency to hit thin shots so tried this. The feeling i have is a little different. It feels like someone is gently pulling the butt of the club and I can feel it kind of straightening my lead arm. Its subtle but noticeable. Hope that makes sense. I plan on trying it at the weekend as well as my ball striking has been woeful lately.
@@TheArtofSimpleGolf had a good range session at the weekend and the improvement was instant. Better contact with all clubs, longer and straighter. Tips like this are what mark out a good instructor so thank you for posting this one. This with the low hands drill should help pretty much any golfer.
Watching the video, I'm not sure how the butt of my club can go out in the direction you suggest unless my elbow was bent like you show yours is. Am I missing something?
@@TheArtofSimpleGolf this works wonders! Would you say that we should have the swing thought of low hands as well or does this automatically take your hands low?
This move may help get the hips to take control of the downswing, for those of who struggle with that. I got to try it, if it works, it will the biggest tip ever for me.
I Ike the idea but I see you bending your left arm quite a bit to demonstrate the push. If I keep my left arm straight I find it really hard ‘push the butt away’ without feeling like the club head is stuck behind me
Is it ok if I just feel like there is an ever so slight delay to allow my self time/space to start the downswing? Or does this push help with other aspects I’d be missing the point on 🤷♂️
I don't like this "move" I'd say the lack of a move allows the club to fall into the slot if the wrists are working properly and everything else is proper.
The Low hands video really helped with my consistency. Going to try this on as well! Thanks!
Wonderful
Your tip regarding "pushing" the grip down with the left hand in downswing has changed my swing dramatically. I'm going to keep doing that! Thank you!
Well I’m delighted to hear that. Thanks for letting g us know and keep at it

This totally totally gets my swing back online, total swing life saver!!! More speed less effort!
Wonderful and yes that’s what exactly the goal!

I need some of your wine Alan! I need to find all of these and have them in one place on the site. They are great !!

Louisville Kentucky 🏌️♂️

Still feel pressure on your lead food in transition
I tried this yesterday and I am hitting my drives 40 to 50 yards longer. Best tip so far for me. Thanks.
Great tip. I am also feeling and seeing good results with this!
Super!!🏌️♂️💪
I was doing this move yesterday and my 9 iron went from 120 yards to 130 yards at sea level and I’m 79.
I felt the power increase.
Well done! Keep at it 🏌️♂️👍
A great "secret" move that dramatically improved my swing.
Great video!!!
It’s sneaky good!
Excellent video! Does allow that split second "More time", and maintains width. Voila!
One of the best advice ever!!! I tried it yesterday, I did gain 20-30 yards with my irons!!!
Brilliant well done !! Keep at it 🏌️♂️🏆🏌️♂️
Would you also recommend to try to straighten right arm out,or just try to push the hands out as you say in the vid?
Just feel that with butt end of club and see how you do. Too much arm can cast it

It's also the pulling the arrow out of the quiver, and I like to feel I'm laying the arrow down on my foot line
can pulling down help with over the top . from spinning out with hips too fast causing over the top ?
What shot/ball monitor/tracker unit are you using?
Great golf tip
Thanks and hope it helps you
Hi Alex. Do I push with left or right hand?
Generally the right would be it. But it’s subtle
Right hip is shot. Will this change swing still work ??
It can. But I’d prefer you also flare right foot out and pull it back a couple of inches
This is simple……. YOU are very very good.
You are more than welcome and thank you for kind words. Hope it helps and glad you’re with us
Wonderful video tips..
👍

It’s a feel vs real. The idea or intent to delay the pull down is all. Don’t worry about minutia too much. The wall drill can help a lot too
Ah, got it. Thanks for the explanation.👍 I was over thinking it.
Does it work for all clubs? Hybrid woods driver?
Yes indeed :) 🏌️♂️👍

It could. The fall into your downswing sounds like it will help too.
This is excellent

You know any good instructors near Detroit Michigan?
Not specifically. Sorry. We have online lessons and schools too 🏆🏌️♂️
At what point during the golf swing do people feel the lead leg post up?
starts before impact slightly
Great tip
Cheers👍
What if i cant maintain that lag angle, is it because of my club face too open during downswing? if I do maintain angle the ball goes way right
You need to square the face earlier. Sounds like you are holding and forcing for too long
same for driver?
Thank you !!!!!!!!!!!!1
No problem
I found this to be a great way to hit a mile behind the ball and almost dislocate elbows
Because you're swinging with your weight on your back foot.
I didn't have a club, but I had a turkey wrap so I used that
Perfect! And you can’t eat a golf club!
I like the feeling of an archer pulling an arrow out of his bag
You are awesome!!
No you are :) 🏌️♂️👍
Isn't the push unnatural and not a cause & effect like you normally recommend
It gives more time and stops the swings g getting g to narrow down

@@ianblackburn5935 yes that’s fine! :)
It’s a very small sensation and it’s it’s “feel vs real” as it were.
@@TheArtofSimpleGolf cool thanks. I guess I’m possibly doing it by the ‘delay’ feel well when I remember anyway 😂
Like pulling and arrow out of a quiver
This is where the arms are passive got lost in translation

Yes but this is to give a feel that do too much
