Great information, well designed equipment. Just wish they would provide a service manual. If not for your support, I would have been out of luck if not for your input. Thank you for the $250 .00 service call you saved me.
Great video easy to understand. I've checked all three thermostats and both heating elements as you showed. They all have connection. What else could it be the dryer just does not heat it quit suddenly
My Fisher & Paykel dryer quit heating after 18 years of trouble-free service. This video made it super easy to take things apart and test the heater circuit, thank you so much! It was pretty obvious the heater coils were bad after I removed the heater assembly from the base of the dryer, and luckily the parts were still available. One thing I would like to add - make sure to remove the cover from the back of the circuit board in the lower left corner of the unit and inspect the wiring. I found a burned/melted connector on the red wire that plugs into the back of the heater relay - easy to clean things up and crimp on a new connector while the front cover is off. Thanks again for posting this great video, saved me a lot of time and money!
VERY HELPFUL... Finally a DYI that actually HELPED. We lost our heat a couple days ago. We instantly thought $$$$$. Then, I decided to use this tool, UA-cam videos. AWESOME, it took only a few minutes ( maybe a half hour total) and we were up and running. NOW, let's see how long it works. That said, I HIGHLY RECOMMEND you take the time to totally clean out the lint which collects in places you would never imagine. Can you say SHOP-VAC to the rescue. Again, my hats off to the producer of this video. AMAZING RESULTS.

My top loading F&P dryer stopped heating and drying. Searched on UA-cam, found this 7 years old video. I immediately recognized the same problem, and was hopeful your directions would fix the dryer. Even bought a multimeter (specifically for this job; it's way cheaper than a service call :-)). Followed the steps - one by one - exactly as you've demonstrated. Used the opportunity to clean inside the dryer and the heater itself while the cabinet was open. Reset the thermostat... And viola, everything is working! Cannot find dryer like that (top loader) anywhere anymore. So happy it works again!! Thank you so much!

I just want to thank you a million times over!!! I’m a single mom with a limited budget. After praying for a month to find an inexpensive dryer I found this one at goodwill of all places, and purchased it almost brand new for $45. It was an answer to prayer and I’ve had it now for three years. I was devastated when it stopped working. I’ve lived this dryer. This awesome video has saved me hundreds of dollars 🥰thank you!!

Thank you so much for this video. I watched it and with my son's help got our dryer back to working. However, I'm not sure it is completely fixed. Only one of the heating elements showed continuity, but I couldn't find anything that would have caused that. I got the part numbers and put it back together after resetting thermostat and it seems to be working. This is the only top loading dryer I've ever found and it is so much easier than a front loader for people with bad backs.
Nice video, but what happens when you check everything and everything is good but still no heat from the dryer. Tested the coil imput voltage, it said 128 volts from each connector at the coil to ground but showed no volts when going from connector to connector on each coil.

I looked into buying a dryer of this brand because of its unique way of loading the wet laundry. The big box store salesman said they stopped selling them because of they broke down too often.
itsmegp46 We find different issues on all manufactures. The only major problems we have the the Fisher & Pakel is the time to get replacement parts. It normally takes two or three days to get parts. Otherwise about the same amount of service issues as other brands. As I mentioned earlier, the store discontinued the sale of this brand. This was about four years ago, give or take. Because I needed a new dryer ASAP, I purchased a Whirlpool. It is used a lot, we're a big family averaging about 10-12 loads a week. So far no problems.

I looked into buying a dryer of this brand because of its unique way of loading the wet laundry. The big box store salesman said they stopped selling them because of they broke down too often.

We find different issues on all manufactures.
Sorry to hear you were told that. I bought my set brand new in 2003, it's 20 y/o this year & still going strong 😊
Thank you for the video. I have an older front loading F&P dryer. Could you help me locate the reset for my older model? Thank you!

Great video! I followed it because our dryer takes forever and does not generate much heat. The rear element failed the continuity test. Is there a way to fix it (fuse?) or should I order a new element from you guys? Thank you!

How do I check the voltage on each heating element I have passed every continuity test and I have 120 volts at each one of the terminals but I'm getting no heat. should each one of the terminals for each heating element read 240v or should it read 120v on each side?

Hello, thank you for your comment. Our video team reviewed the video and title-- we verified it is the right model number, problem, and it is a Samsung dryer. May we ask what is wrong with the title? Thank you kindly.
