U can pressurize the cooling system to confirm leak. Also the lower timing cover is swollen bcuz the oil leak. Aisen T-belt kit is highly recommended. I wouldn’t use the Oreily stuff.
I would get the larger bladed pump from the dealer if you absolutely have too. With it being automatic, the trans cooler lines go to the radiator. The radiator is pulling double duty on cooling and in SoCAL and Death Valley (basically where I am, I have an auto-RD1 as well) and I forsee that pump being an issue. I surely hope not but I have had heat management issues in the CRV when the temps are 105F+. I generally have to forgo AC if I see the needle jump on hot summer days or I drive the Honda ACTY. Man I give you props for living out there in Death Valley! I travel from Vegas to LA frequently and when I get in DV, the outside temperature immediately get in Hell Mode!
You can just lock the camshaft in place with the cam locks holes that hond installed on the bearing caps and follow the directions from Honda. I don't know about people that say things like 'I like to do it this way'. What is that? There's only one right way to get it done. You can try it in a different order at your own risk, but why would you? Timing belts are always loaded from the crankshaft and counter to the engine's rotation. Luckily, in spite of being an interference engine, this b20 is pretty forgiving in the timing procedure. It can be off a tooth or two in either direction, and it still runs. Hence the reason following the directions from honda is always the best policy. If you are going to make an instructional or informational video, I think explaining it the right way is important.
You always do a good job bro. I have so much respect for you. I hope someday you can work on my car with you in your garage and learn more from you to improve my automotive skills . Much love brother ❤❤❤
7:45 my 2001 Honda CRV makes constant high pitch sound (metal like whistle not sipping noise) while on idle or moving, which mechanic found that it comes from water pump area using stethoscope. Could it be this timing belt tensioner a source of this sound? PS Manifold gasket was replaced, so it doesn't come from there. Sound comes and go, but mostly stays on.
All the lower timing covers on b20s do that. awhile ago when I was looking for lower for mine, because it had big chunk missing. every crv I found was like that
I love the step by step explaining much more than time lapse. Even on things I've seen you do umpteen times.
top 3 favorite channels to binge watch.
You talk a lot, but that’s the point that’s what makes the video. If you don’t talk, it’ll be a boring video. You fill me. Geat vid
Fills your what?
Omg no diddy😂😂😂
I really enjoy the repair videos
