Hello Kirsty. I'm only on video 2 on your channel but can already tell that you're immensely talented and skilled at this DIY stuff. Thank you for taking the time to share and inspire.
This is exactly how my stair case is and I've been boggling how to do this, I'm so glad I've seen you do every other step because I was about to do all of them 😂 this looks amazing I'll be going in confident now ty❤❤❤
That's great idea! Ive been wanting to do something similar. This is the first time I've seen an application like this, a lot of people are using the led strips. I like this clean look.
Wow I love it and to see a female DIYer take on a task like this is amazing. Well done, I am hugely impressed. As a female DIYer myself, this feels me with confidence. Thank you.
I done mine exactly the same a couple of years ago. Get yourself a smart plug and a couple of motion sensors (one at the top of the stairs and one on bottom) if you've got an amazon echo, can set lights to come on for say 4 mins then go off. Well done, looks great 👍
Great video. Will definitely be doing this on my stairs. A few things i think would make the job even better and easier 1) use a palm router to carve the channel for the cable as this is sooop much easier although the palm router may cost abit more 2) connect a motion and daylight sensor so that the lights come on automatically when sensing motion at darker times. But again great job! You made it look so easy.
I don't mean to sound like an internet critic! I'm very sorry. In hindsight it's always easy to say "oh well this could have been done differently" I didn't mean to put down your work. The way it ended up is fantastic and you should be proud. It'd cost an arm and a leg to get any contractor to do this type of job. Most wouldn't even do it I'd imagine. We have loads of jobs like this and I'll be definitely doing it with more confidence thanks to your video! (Plus watching all your other content, you explain things so well).
A small cut & covering trim would have made your life easier, as you say. You could attach a (triangular) sanding head on your multitool - again making your life easier. Well done though, you've inspired me to do the same job! @@kirstygriffiths749
Looks amazing, I think that I would buy a roll of same size cable, and cut the lights of and put the on the new cable then the connectors would not be needed. Then drilled the big holes and a little one down then lay the cable down the stringer..
Wow, you've done a fantastic job there! 😊🙏🏻 I take after my Dad when it comes to being practical and really enjoy DIY projects. I'll be getting my 11 year old son to help with this project as his dad is a bit clueless 🙄😄 I'm a bit old fashioned and feel men should be able to do all this stuff so I'm teaching my lad bless him ( don't mean to come across as sexist ro any guysreading this! But real men should have rough hands in my view, rather than shaved muscly chests and moisturised hands! 😄) Great and clear instructions, thank you for uploading this!
Hi, I'm halfway through renovating our hall and we have used your videos for inspiration. Even ordered the same mouldings and dado. Now just ordered the lights. Ripping carpet up today. I noticed the trim you used and we wanted to do the same . I can't see that you have linked the trim. Do you remember where you got it? And by the way thanks so much your videos have helped massively 😊
27k views and not a single comment? Bloody hell. Well done, finished product looked very well done and you learned some improvements for next time. Fantastic job.
Anyone else doing this could avoid dealing with all of the big connector holes by cutting the cables to length and using click-together connector blocks. It means much less filling. Cut the cables, put them in a block, click together and do the same on the other side.

It’s a very beautiful nicely done ✅ job with a stairs lighting. I am doing the same thing!!!!

Are you a proffessional builder? You have given me so many ideas. Great videos☆

I think I would also have made a small cut up and run the cable over the top of the skirting ( then hide with some trim) But they do look good 👍

Looks amazing. If I did this myself, just wondered how you change bulbs? Do they still pop out. Sorry new to this🙈lol

It would be nice if you would show the plug at the finish
Well done, superb job, looks fab. 👍

I would have went up with the notch then just simply added a molding on the top to cover the wire.
Yes. As I say at the end of the video I would have done that.
Great job!
You could get a movement sensor so the light in the hallway and stairs turn on and off automatically
Absolutely yes 👍 ❤️
If you did every step instead of every other would there be an easier way to pass the wires through?
Amazing! X
Just found your channel gave you a sub I love diy great job 👍😎
Fantastic ❤
Thank you sooo much
Ye definitely cut into the plaster much easier
100%. As I said at the end, I would do this so differently looking back.
You would of been better using motion sensor decking lights but good job anyway 👍
I would do a lot of things differently with this project on reflection. They look good tho 😂
Well done. Could you not of cut the connectors out and soldered the wires? Good job in the end looks nice.
That’s a great tip. Lots I would do differently now 👍
👍👍👍
1st step.... buy a fixer upper. nice
it looks goregous
