      I'm very excited to come to Morelia soon to see rentals. I think I need outter edge of Morelia where it's a bit quieter. Russell, do you know a realtor who might help me? I need to study my Spanish. LOL Only words I know are not nice. Learned as a kid in NYC. Mucha's gracias. Justine in Connecticut.

      @@justinesimone5343 I am a Morelia native and i highly reccommend avoiding the outskirts, they might be kinda dangerous, of course there are nice neighborhoods too, it all depends on your budget, and the kind of lifestyle you are looking for.

      @justinesimone5343 I'm sorry I didn't see your note. We were lucky in finding our home. We walked out of our niece's house to find a rental. The house next door was being painted. We rented it on the spot! It's nearly 4000 square ft, 3 bdrm/3 ba, in a nice neighborhood. After 3 years, we're still paying only 8000 pesos ($400 USD)! We scored!

    Great content about Black and Mexican connections. Very interesting. Most people don't even mention this and most Mexicans and Black folks don't know about it either. Keep up the good work.

      Thanks, I appreciate it! And I agree, the Afro Mexican story is not well known which is a real shame. I’m in Veracruz now, which has a large population of Afro Mexicans, and its evident in the music, food and names of places here.

      There’s is Mercado de San Juan/Mercado Revolución which is near downtown. But there are some great restaurants that are specialized in traditional dishes, these are my favorites :
      - De Raíz Tradición en la Cocina
      -Simona Cocina
      -La cocina de Licha

    In 'Santuario de Guadalupe' was my mass for ended my university, and I have something to say about 2 paintings you showed on your video, I can not remember the number of paintings into the church, but I guess probably be the third and fourth one, those were painted by Pedro Cruz, a painter who was born in Santa Ana Maya, Michoacan, after growing he moved to Acambaro, Guanajuato.
    He did many great paintings over Mexico and Texas.

    Hi, we plan on exploring central Mexico this winter (for 6 months). We're starting in Huatulco and ending in Puerto Vallarta. Following you... it seems you've taken a route similar to what we want to do, going the other way. Would you mind sharing your route and the worthwhile stops?

    • @GringoInterrupted
      @GringoInterrupted  Місяць тому

      Actually, those were different trips. One trip was starting in and around Oaxaca City to Puerto Escondido, Zipolite, Huatulco, Juchitan and ending in San Cristobal. The trip prior to that was starting in Guadalajara, to Morelia, Pátzcuaro, Guanajuato, San Miguel, Querétaro and ending in CDMX.

    Curious, I know that there has been a tremendous amount of deforestation in Morelia, in order to grow "green gold" aka avocadoes. This is causing much consternation and frustration by locals, Did you encounter any of that? I believe that Criminal ELements are responsible for this deforestation and that it is a bit dangerous for locals to be loud about their discontent.

    I found your channel recently and you do a very nice video. Morelia is beautiful and have friends that live there. Only minus, your occasional 'colorful' words downgrade the quality of your videos. Mexico is not like the states. Foul language is frowned upon except mostly by those that are involved in organized crime. Overall I do enjoy your videos and thanks for the experiences.
