Gringo, Interrupted
Приєднався 3 лис 2021
Hola, I'm Alfie. Due to a mid-life crisis and circumstances that have "interrupted" my normal life, I quit my job and am fortunate enough to be able to do the thing I love the most: travel. Having fallen in love with Mexico on a trip in 2019, I plan on checking out more of this amazing country and eventually heading south to the countries of Central and South America. Hence, the name "Gringo, Interrupted." Join me in my travels! I'm told I'm pretty funny and this channel will present a unique and interesting view on traveling as well as a ton of useful information and itineraries for those wishing to visit these cities. I hope you enjoy my videos as much I enjoy making them!

That man from Tule was probably on magic mushrooms which some little towns still use and it is legal in these little towns. But that is my opinion.
I am very passionate about Mexico as well. When my husband retires, we hope to spend the winter somewhere in Mexico. I agree that it is safe, but we do not run alone at night or buy drugs. But i wouldn't do that in other countries as well.
You yelling to the bird was the best jajaja that’s so you. Next time we have to go together 😊I went again 2 weeks ago
Do you think it is safe for a female solo traveler to go there?
Yes, I would say so
I felt like that trucking up in Guanajuato and San Miguel. Expecial the Mummy Museum :)
Ha, I hear ya!
I hate people is diabolical!!!🤣🤣🤣 Thank you for sharing this video. Great information!!!! I am looking forward to this trip either this weekend or next. If I drive there from GDL, do you happen to know if there parking ?
Haha, thanks so much! ☺️ Yes, there was parking at the museum. You may still have a little walk up to the ruins.
You are too funny and not hard to look at. Keep doing these videos, really enjoy them
Thank you! ☺️
What a lovely video! Thanks for that! I'm going to Mexico in 3 months and your videos will be very usefull <3
Thanks! I’m so glad they’re helpful to you! 😉
Big Pito in the painting lol
Jajaja, si! 😂
So many good friends are often made through participation in a theatrical production of any kind! That was true for me.
Yes. So true! ☺️
I had hopes of moving to Mexico, probably Mexico City, if the election went badly. But a few months ago I developed advanced bladder cancer and it would now be impossible for me to go to Mexico for an extended time, due to the medical access I now need. I’ll enjoy Mexico through your and others’ videos, but it means I can’t get out of the country and away from the results of the election. Life hasn’t handed me much good fortune in the last few months. Thank you for your efforts and content!
Thank you and I’m so sorry to hear about your cancer! Wishing you all the best! 🙏

@ Thanks!
This episode literally had me laughing out loud 🤣 I would pay money to watch you hike and complain all day! Why is the water so blue?
Thanks! 😊 Mineral deposits make the water so blue!
Snow geese breed north of the timberline in Greenland, Canada, Alaska, and the northeastern tip of Siberia, and spend winters in warm parts of North America from southwestern British Columbia through parts of the United States to Mexico.
I guess; I know nothing about birds. They just seem soooo high in the sky!
I'm verklempt. Your geeking out was so heart warming, love was oozing out every pore. LOVED LOVED this video! Thank you so much for making that climb, every vista was better than the one before. What a brilliant mind to create this palatial site! The terraces still visible, the fauna spectacular, the actual baths even appeared usable to this day. The views and your smile were equally beautiful. Much gratitude for this one! Yes, I'm still binging 😂❤
Thank you so much! ☺️ This was one of those amazing days! So lucky to have gotten there! Thanks for binging my vids! It makes me very happy 😃
Hi Alfie, I missed your live, but just watched it while on my excercise bike. I sure understand why you feel down when in the US and alive when traveling. When you have a soul that is fed and comes alive with adventure, history, and colorful culture, traveling becomes your happy place. It fills you with energy, which I see in your filming. Our cities in the states are a rat race, lack of culture, poisonous food, crime , and stress. No wonder anyone could be depressed. And, there's great mole in Puebla. I look forward to your next uploaded video. Happy Thanksgiving
Thank you so much! ☺️ And you hit the nail on the head regarding travel and US cities. Happy Thanksgiving to you also! 🦃
Great videos! Thanks for the helpful information and entertaining and professional videos!
Thanks! 😊 Glad you like them!
Awesome video… Thanks for sharing your adventure!
Thanks! 😊
Another new fan 💕 binge watching. Love them all. But... North American? It seems so easy. 😮 PS...I raise my hand as one who would gladly follow you around anywhere in Mexico. Matter of fact, I'd pay for that chance! On to the next video ! Loving them ALL.
Thank you! 😊 So glad you enjoy them! The issue I have with North American is that technically North American could refer to Canadians, Mexicans, Guatemalans, etc.
We (mid 70's) watched your video last night. Have loved your work since day one and look forward to seeing a lot more. Back to Oaxaca (4th visit) in January, then on to Puerto Escondido (2nd). Love your history lessons, music, humor, and fresh take on all that is Mexico. ¡Buen día amigo!
Thanks Jer! I recognize your name from the beginning! I’m so honored that you guys enjoy my vids and have stuck with me all this time! Enjoy Oaxaca again and thank you! 😊
Darn it, so sorry I missed it
Oh no! Next time!
White girl saying first tostada in her life is a shock to me
😂
Dude you are a talented videographer!
Muchas gracias! ☺️
Dude, your eyes almost crossed tasting that salmon in pistachio sauce! You are a talented videographer! So glad I came across your channel
I still think about pistachio sauce! Thank you! 😊
excellent video - heading up to CDMX nov 23 to 29. i am glad you do NOT do outfit checks in the full length mirror. :-)
Haha, I would never! Who cares? 😂 Thank you! 😊
Beautiful Canyon, Mexico has so much natural beauty!
It really does
Lmao I laughed when you repeated the recording of the refrigerators and stove pick ups 😂 awesome video we’re visiting Mexico soon and I’m trying to figure out where to stay, thank you for sharing!
Thanks! 😂 I usually stay in Roma Sur. Quieter than Roma Nte, but still close to everything. Have a great trip!
@ That’s where I was thinking of staying I want to be in a quiet neighborhood but still close to coffee shops and eateries, thanks !
mainstream history is his-story
Care to elaborate?
Oh nooooo, i did not know people can join you alive (we are techno dumbs). You are so fun and authentic, and generous with your time. We love your videos❤
Haha, I hear ya! Thank you! ☺️
Great opportunity to communicate live with you! Love your videos! Only if the lag between the live video and chat weren't so bad, there wouldn't be as much miscommunication. Oh well.
Thanks! Yeah, internet wasn’t the greatest where I was
Chef here. Relocating to MX. Nayarit area. May open a coffee bar. Your idea of including authentic food origin s and preparation would be an excellent inclusion to your vids. Have you considered Tour Guiding?
Thanks! No, I haven’t thought about it. Maybe if I move here. Best of luck with the move! 👍
Looking forward to your content from the Yucatan. Looks like you will be going during the winter, so you hopefully won't melt. We purchased a home in Merida for future pre- and post- retirement living. Plan to be there in January. Let me know if you want any recommendations. I imagine you will visit many places we have not yet had a chance to see.
Great! Merida will be on my itinerary! Thanks and best of luck!
Maybe a different time and day. Saturday or Sunday morning.
Ok, thanks for the suggestion!
We are heading to Tlaquepaque in December then Guanajuato and Queretero. I have pretty much memorized your videos on these spots.
Awesome, have a great trip!
I'm so bummed i missed your live!! I really wanted to join. Next time.
Next time Shelley! ☺️
Absolutely love your content, you make me laugh and I learn so much. I’ve traveled to Mexico several times and love the people and the beautiful country…
Thanks so much Anthony! Happy you enjoy it! ☺️
Thanks so much for your (funny) videos. Watched before I left Australia 2 1/2 weeks ago. Have had a week in DF, SMA, leaving Guanajuato City tomorrow back to DF for 10 days ahead of a week in Oaxaca. Your vids have been super insightful and your tips awesome. Couldn't agree more on how underrated Mexico is. Consolidating my Español on this trip, taking private classes in all cities. Highly recommend Argentina. BA is a great city. Uruguay is super close by ferry. Colonia de Sacramento is an amazing UNESCO city. Small but historical and not too overrun. Yucatan is on my list too. Great to hear your stories. Saludos, Paul.
Thanks so much Paul! I’m so glad they’ve helped! Enjoy! ☺️
I missed it - so sorry! So you don't live in Mexico - I thought you did! Puebla or Guadalajara - a comparison would be great.
Oh no! Next time! No, not yet at least. I actually live in the US, but visit Mexico often! 😉
So beautiful. You lucky tyke!
I missed your thing damn it. .it's almost 8 in Houston I didn't get notified
Ugh! Sorry! 😢
Alfie, your use of the term "your Netherlands" was so funny to me. It's like saying the word Peter for your hoo haa. Then again, I just said hoo haa so I can't talk.
😂
❤ your videos! So glad I recently found your work! I can’t wait to move to Mexico! 🇲🇽✌️🌈
Thank you! 😊
Love your videos. You are so funny,
Thank you! ☺️
I am glad that you are visiting my state of Veracruz. I can't wait to see your video from Veracruz, Soy originario de Tuxpan, Veracruz, but vivo en Carolina del Norte.
Ah ok! Pues, me ha encantado este estado! Sin embargo, el calor del Puerto de Veracruz no es para mi! 😂
@GringoInterrupted me imagino, el calor es humedo y es clima de selva lol, i know u when to xalapa and i live there for many years, when to college there to the university of Veracruz.
Have a safe trip home. Happy early Thanksgiving, and i liked your video of yesterday, i hope u back to México again. If not, i will wait until your next trip and enjoy time with your mom.
Makes me wanna travel to Mexico City!
There’s no cooler city! 😎
@@GringoInterrupted and I trust Amy 😀
@LisaChosed1 Haha, what about ME?! 😂
@@GringoInterrupted I'll have to watch more videos to know, but this one was convincing.
@LisaChosed1 Ok, ok. Thats fair 😉
Hey wondering bout living in HUATULCO and why the night life action is like?
I didn’t dive into that, but there were a few bars and live music happening in La Crucecita: the downtown area.
Saludos!
Me encantó! Muchas gracias 😊
Defenetly Watching 👍
Yay!
@GringoInterrupted Your videos and sence of humor makes for enjoyable viewing 😊
@luisperales4853 Thanks, I appreciate it! Glad you enjoy them! 😊
Your channel showed up in my feed a few weeks ago as I watch a lot of videos about Mexico. I'm hoping to move to CDMX in a few years. I binge watched all your videos. Thoroughly enjoy your sarcastic, self deprecating humour and excellent education value. Much appreciated. Hope your channel continues con mucho exito. Muy amable
Thank you so much! 😊 Best of luck with the move!
