Becky I have spent most of my life worrying about what other people thought of me. When I reached my 60’s a light bulb suddenly went off. I thought... I am a child of God. He created me and if I am good enough for him, I am good enough for ANYBODY and anyone who thinks otherwise can take that up with God..not me! It was so freeing! Just do you. Let others think what they want. Try your hardest each day, be kind and grateful and let the haters hate.
@Marcy Szulewski I can totally relate. I'm 52 going on 12 (lol) and I still struggle with this. I don't worry with everyone anymore but I do still worry to some extent.
I just don't care about what people think, far less couldn't care less about what people assume about me.
If people couldn't care less of whether I live or die, why do I need to care what people think.
Most of the time people just keep trying to tell me what to do and yet they have provided nothing to truly help me.
I wouldn't let it affect me but I do think it'd be interesting to know what kind of vibe I give off. Like, once I was told I appeared stuck-up. The reason? I always was dressed up (because it's what I find comfortable) and never spoke to anyone (social anxiety) perceptions can be intriguing. And... Way off. But yeah, generally not caring what people think if one can get to that point saves you from so much heartache and stress.
The honesty and the cutting you always have put in, and are putting in to your perfectly produced and well outspoken videos, have always been very interesting for me. You often help me feel comfortet in difficult times. Thanks a lot for still being around!

One reason I love watching your videos is because you are so very different from me in some ways and yet so similar in others. Your religious beliefs and your way of putting them into words, for instance, are fascinating to me! I don't generally have a very positive view on religion or religious people, in part because of the many loud voices speaking in the name of it that have caused so much harm, in part because my brain is wired in a hyper-rational way that views religion as nothing more than an evolutionarily stable strategy that self-perpetuates exceptionally well. The way you talk about it, however, humanizes it in a way that I think is incredibly important and that generates some much-needed compassion among people holding different beliefs. It isn't always easy seeing the positive sides of something when there are harmful ones as well, and I sincerely thank you for bringing those to light!

I love this video! I think you’ve grown so much in the last few years. I never really understood why happiness doesn’t come as natural to you as it does for most people, but I always respected you pushing through it and try to make the best of things even though you felt all those “negative” feelings. Its like this you can handle more than the you from a few years ago. I’m a high sensitive person as well and although we’re different, When watching your videos I feel like growing and changing right along with you. It makes me look at my own life sometimes. I like this conversation about assumptions people can make based off of you online presence, which is not the entirety of you.
One of the things your 'persona' has made me assume is that you are too self-involved and self-assured.
It's a perception that I got from only a few minutes of you talking (in a video where you happen to appear confident), but really you were just expressing yourself the best you could and trying to have some fun too.
So I'm learning now to not take a perception like that too seriously.

I've been watching your videos for around 6 years now, and you're still one of the most interesting, clearly passionate people in my subscription box. Tbh the bit that you help people much more. I told you this on instagram in the past but besides all the times you helped cheer me up or made me feel better when I was down, you also lead me into God and encouraged me for my own faith journey in a time I really really needed exactly that faith to get up from the deep deep pit of despair I had fallen into. So again, besides everything else, you've helped get me back up from probably the darkest period of my life. Thank you ❤️

Hey Becky, I really enjoyed this video. I’ve been watching you since I was a wee high schooler! It’s really neat to see how you’ve changed and grown into the considerate and thoughtful person you are now (not that you weren’t those things before, It’s just that I was particularly struck with the reflective tone of this video). I get the feeling you’re not entirely at the place you want yourself to be emotionally and economically , but I just wanted to say I really admire you’re perspective and the graciousness with which you are handling life’s hard stops. I think you’re really admirable and someone worth looking up to :) anyway, I love your content and I hope good things are on the horizon for you!
I truly love this video. And it reminds me of your old videos; perhaps because of the snipits of the old ones. I love seeing you talk about your life, your perception of life, or a multitude of other things. I just feel like you really care, and truly to try understand what you like and what to know more about. And I’d love to meet have a overly deep conversation.

I can very much relate to people’s perception of truth based on what they see and do not know. Ten years ago, I was on an episode of MTV’s True Life, and when the episode aired, people would come up with certain perceptions based only what they see in what amounts to to at most around fifteen minutes of video. At one point I just got tired of certain types of comments and I replied to one and talked about the process that went into the episode and how they were trying to tell a certain story. I explained what actually happened, and just ended up getting a reply of “no, you are just lying.” And in my head I was just thinking “but I was THERE though.” And that can mess with your head. I am always glad to see you are able to talk about your experiences, and that you attempt to clear up misperceptions.
Like that one person said, I don't make assumptions about you, or at least try not to.
However, since that is the theme of this video, I will make one now. I ASSUME you painted your nails to match the color of your sweater for this video :). If I'm wrong it was a happy coincidence as I liked that small aspect to the video.

Except for the "gotton" word, I was shocked Becky, your English has always been exemplorary . Have you noticed all the other Americanisms gradually infecting our language ? In 20 years our children will have American accents 😘
@@nickclark6001 My accent has slipped badly this year. I'm not good at accents but my accent slips depending on who I am with. My accent is specific with family, it even Americanised when I spent time there in 2012, 2013 and 2016. Even this year, I worked with over 500 families in one of my jobs and by the end of my time there, my Essex accent was back. I'm working on removing it once more... though it's taking time. To lose my 't''s is a little upsetting to hear back, that an my vowels! There's nothing wrong with an Essex accent, but I don't like hearing my past within my present. I associate that twang in my voice with a Rebecca long gone! She has to go! :D. GOE? Gowe. x

I don't know if you ever have mixed emotions about having 10 years of your life cataloged on youtube (not everything obviously). It must be interesting though to be able to go back and see the previous you. Recalling who you were can be a lot different than actual hard evidence of it. The scientific aspect being that after 10 years all the cells that were "you" are no longer you. We also change mentally. Putting those together, is the past you the current you? You are the same person but essentially everything about you can be entirely different. It's a crazy thought train to go down.
Yes. There have been many people in my life who assume they understand my inner workings. Will TELL me who I am, and I hate it, because it shows how much they don't know me. And this usually comes from people who have spent a tiny amount of time with me.

I love the idea for this video! From my perspective of being a viewer, it seems like people do have a lot of assumptions about you. I've probably got a few myself that I'm not consciously aware of. This video sort of made me realize what assumptions I'd made about you that others had also made.

I don't think it's good to analyse and publicly discuss possible diagnoses. This could really be upsetting for some people, and with Rebecca being a public figure there's clearly a reason she's not telling us such a thing if she is. You (and I) can think and speculate to ourselves, but please don't make a comment like this when you really don't know everything. I'm autistic and even though I'm *well* versed in the symptoms, how it effects you being a woman as well and how that further complicates the autistic experience, but I'm not going to publicly diagnose people. Unless you've done a formal assessment of Rebecca, then don't come here and comment a diagnosis. It's both inappropriate and so damn rude.

Based on what I see, you are extremely smart and wise well beyond your 26 years and I think that is why you don't laugh very often, and that is OK. You are a very analytical thinker, even with your art. You have changed so much, and for the better. I believe all a person needs is a few very close friends. We're always going to have people that dislike us and we won't click with all people in life but these people are obsessed, some of these people have stalked me six years now. It fluctuates between petty remarks, mocking my brain and body, spreading rumours based on their assumptions that ignite worldwide, severe hatred and then there is the doxing/brutal harassment that is extensive. Petty haters are one thing, people with malicious intent (even intent to ignite physical and emotional harm) is unacceptable.
Different stalkers use the site to dox, stalk and harm other creators too, so I'm not alone in being targetted. Though that doesn't make things easier. xxx

Maybe you are not aware of how funny you are, and I understand because it happened to me as well, but trust me - you are funny. You just made a pun, right in this video ( the ins and out) and I did laugh at that!

I relate to a lot of the responses you gave in this video. I also am particularly sensitive, and struggle to relate to people. Sometimes I wonder if I lie somewhere on the spectrum, but that it wasn't picked up when I was younger.
The only thing I hope for you is that you're working towards a life of happiness ❤ I assume that you will get there one day, just don't give up!

I think Joe lycet says it best never assume you know what's going on in someone's life if you assume you make an ass out of u and me. Even tho it's about him arguing about a parking fine but I think this phrase should be taken everywhere in life
