Finally made a video on my all time favorite thrillers! 😍 I’d love to know, what is your all time favorite thriller book? Comment below to let me know ⬇️
Gone Girl is also one of my favorites that started off my love for reading again. It literally blew my mind!🤯❤️ Also, Finlay was the best! Perfect combination of mystery suspense and comic relief. I’ve read so many on this list and the ones I haven’t read I have on my shelf. As always, love your videos!😘
So, I loved all the books you mentioned except for In My Dreams I Hold A Knife, I couldn’t get into it. And I haven’t read Finlay yet… TBR. Have you read Jodi Picoult- The Pact? Or Nineteen Minutes, by the same author?? Just curious on what you think about those! I love that I’ve found your channel, we have similar reading interests.
I highly recommend any novel by Keri Beevis, from the UK. She became a best selling author in recent years, & her books are awesome! If you enjoy novels that grab you from the start, & keep you guessing....then check her out! Imaginative & twisted, describe her quite well.

The Silent Patient has the BEST plot twist!!! I literally screamed! I don’t know how anyone could of predicted that twist. 😅The Kind Worth Killing is soo good too. It keeps you engaged with all the twists and turns 😍
i just finished the silent patient last night & it’s the best book i’ve ever read, also the first thriller i have ever read, using this video for book recs😊
Another classic that blew my mind just like The Silent Patient is The Unexpected Guest by Agatha Christie. Both books keep you guessing what the hell is happening till the end, in a good way, and then the ending will blow your mind.
I think you would really like "Shiver", by Allie Reynolds! It's isolated location, snowy, and a friend's reunion. Absolutely all time favorite for me!!!
Ahhh I love that you made this video!! Gone Girl started it all for me as well and the plot twist SHOCKED me! I loved The Kind Worth Killing. Lock Every Door is sooo good. The atmosphere is unbeatable! Home Before Dark is soooo good two. Both of those are at the top of my Riley Sager ranking list! The Guest list is one of my all time faves either. I loveddd the atmosphere and the audiobook with a full cast was AMAZING. Pretty Girls may be my all time favorite thriller!
Yaa, if you have read Agatha Christie's the murder of Roger ackroyd then it's easy to guess.. 😂.Even the author of silent patient is a fan of Agatha Christie
That’s so crazy how some people like me never saw it coming and others literally figured it out within a couple pages lol Well I hope you guys still enjoyed it
Yes me too and that's the first thrilller I read. It's obvious gabriel were cheating, also story behind that painting if there is a plot twist we won't never saw that coming rght so ig it is theo without any evidence but when theo found Kathy is cheating and I'm sure he talking this from past and it's gabriel cos on the cover( only he can nake her speak ) the one thriller I never saw that coming is only murder on the Orient express 😅 it is because I just made my own plot twist and the way that doesn't go well with my prediction but after next day it hit me slow brain processing
I'm halfway through Rock Paper Scissors & I haven't been this excited for a thriller in agesss. Really enjoyable so far...fingers crossed the end is good!
The plot twist in Behind Her Eyes is insane! 😳 I thought about this book everyday for a month after I read it. I couldn’t believe what I had just read. 😵💫
Ahhh! Your video lifted my mood up. Behind her eyes and The silent patient are both my all time favourite thrillers. I also agree with The one and Rock paper scissors. I have not read The turn of the key yet but I think I will love it too because the turn of the screw was damn good and Ruth ware's other books were my all time favourites as well.
i literally just read gone girl within the last week bc of u talking about it and it was seriously so good. like such a well written book, i love character studies and thrillers and it felt like a beautiful mix of them to me!
“A lot of people may think The Guest List is overhyped-“ Gabby, I would like to thank you personally for recommending The Guest List. I came across this video randomly a few months ago, and listened to The Guest List audiobook on a whim, and it reawakened a love of reading in me that I thought had died after high school! I’ve rediscovered the library, set myself a reading goal for the year (which I made conservative and am kind of blowing out of the water so far), and am just overall super enjoying a mix of rereading old faves and discovering new authors. Something about the way Lucy Foley was able to write so many perspectives and still make all of them someone we can understand if not necessarily root for or relate to was just fantastic. Plus, super great satisfying ending to the point where I was disappointed we didn’t get to keep following the characters after the plot ended! But yea. Thank you again!
If you ever do a live show about thrillers I would LOVE to be a part of it! I mainly read and review thrillers and mysteries on my channel and it would be so much fun to chat about them :)The Silent Patient is amazzzzing! I really enjoyed The Maidens by this author as well, both 5 stars for me! Sadly I just cannot get into Ruth Ware's books. I have tried and each book just falls flat for me :/ Lock Every Door and Home Before Dark are my two favorites by Sager! Then She was Gone is my favorite Jewell book, it was also my first by her so her other ones haven't impressed me quite as much as Then She Was Gone! I feel like I started with her best! Hated Behind her Eyes lol but I just like realistic thrillers... :D
List for myself: Already Read: 1. Gone Girl 2. You 3. The Kind Worth Killing 4. The Silent Patient 5. Turn of the Key 6. Lock Every Door 7. Behind Her Eyes 8. The Guest List 9. The One 10. Rock Paper Scissors To Be Read: 1. Big Little Lies 2. Home Before Dark 3. Then She Was Gone 4. The Cabin at the End of the World 5. Pretty Girls 6. Long Bright River 7. Finlay Donovan is Killing it 8. In my dreams I hold a Knife 9. Razorblade Tears
Currently reading Rock, Paper, Scissors and LOVING it!!! Recently I've been really getting into the thriller genre so this recommendations video is perfect for me!
I loved Rock Paper Scissors SO MUCH. And Big Little Lies. If you haven't read it yet, Tell No One by Harlan Coben will blow your mind and you'll want to read all his stand alones. He's such a good author!
Oooh I’ve read all of these except for You, Rock Paper Scissors (which I’m reading in November), and In My Dreams I Hold a Knife, which I’ve just started reading! A couple of my all-time favorites are Gone Girl, The Kind Worth Killing, The Turn of the Key, Finlay Donovan, Home Before Dark, and The Last Time I Lied. If I had to recommend one thriller that you haven’t read, I’d say check out The Wife Stalker. I feel like no one talks about it and it’s in my top ten this year so far!
I'm glad you put Razorblade Tears on this list. I also just read it this year. It was so intense but so good!!! I read a couple of his other books, too.
Your face shape is suited to the glasses you were sent. Really cute! Gone Girl is the book that is like the movie Shawshank Redemption. It's the most fun going into it knowing nothing. Great favorites!
In My Dreams I Hold A Knife is great. . looking forward to reading Rock, Paper, Scissors. .just read The Therapist by B.A. Paris (yee-ow-za, good twist at the end, recommend it). Thriller love!
I've read most of the books listed here and would like to recommend some given that we've enjoyed the same books! The Good Samaritan also by John Marrs, He Started It by Samantha Downing, For For Your Own Good also by Downing, Behind Closed Doors by B.A. Paris, Verity by Colleen Hoover to name a few.. watching your video for the first time. It was quick and to the point and also enjoyable. Thanks and Happy Reading!!
I reccomend: • The Terminal List series (Jack Carr) • Down Range (Taylor Moore) • The Force (Don Winslow) • Mystic River (Dennis Lehane) • A Time to Kill (John Grisham) • Read everything by Cormac McCarthy
I've read 9 of the 19 books you mentioned! 1 of which I am literally holding right now. We have such similar taste in books, it's so awesome that I got 10 books to look into!! Goal of 28 books in 2021 is def going to happen!
Well done, Gabby! I always enjoy your sincere enthusiasm in your videos, & this was a fine example! I’m pleased to say I’ve read all of the books mentioned until we got to the final four. Onto my TBR they go! Like you, I was delighted with each & every one & highly encourage all subscribers to try them! Thanks for all you do! 📚😱
I loved Home Before Dark and Lock Every Door by Riley Sager. My favorite thriller is Verity. I just finished Rock Paper Scissors and I don’t know how I feel about it. I just wished there wasn’t so back and forth between the plot.
I also loved Kind Worth Killing, The Silent Patient, and Pretty Girls!! I absolutely must now read In My Dreams I Hold a Knife (it sounds like Big Little Lies but with a Dark Academica setting 👀) & Rock Paper Scissors because everyone seems to be obsessed with it 🤯
Your book recommendations are always spot on... Thank you so much for making me excited about books. I read Arctic Ave and this book become some of my all-time favorite books! Highly recommend!
Those who wish me dead by Michael Kortya, Take it back by Kia Abdullah, Before she disappeared by Lisa Gardner, Dark roads by Chevy stevens, Dear child by Romy Hausmann, Magpie murders by Anthony Horowitz
I hated Rock Paper Scissors...I thought it was so predictable, but maybe that's because of other mysteries/thrillers I've read, but I knew from the first anniversary what was up. (Also nitpicky...but I don't know why you would go to the north west of Scotland in winter and not bring suitable clothing...also no way you would get from London to where they were staying in 8 hours...especially in an old car and a blizzard. ) My favourite recent thriller was Three Hours by Rosamund Lupton, I cried because I was scared... Also recently I really liked Clare Mackintosh's I Let You Go, and Camilla Grebe & Åsa Träff's Some Kind of Peace but they are more crime/mystery. Samantha Dowling's Sleeping Dogs Lie was also v good, I think it's only on audible but a free listen!
So many wonderful thrillers here! I absolutely agree with you about Gone Girl. The best plot twist in a thriller that I've ever read. I NEVER saw that coming. And it's the book that got me into thrillers too. And, Big Little Lies is one of my favourite books of all time. Added quite a few of these to my ever-expanding TBR!! ☺
I loved Then She Was Gone for the exact reason you did! The family dynamics mixed in with the thriller aspect kept me going more so than other thrillers. The Guest List made me invest in more thriller/whodunit novels. What great recommendations! Thanks for filling up my TBR! 😅
We have such similar taste in thrillers Gabby! Besides Ruth Ware, I haven't enjoyed any of her books! Just an author u guess I don't connect with at all! Have you ever read Jane Doe by Victoria Helen Stone?? Female sociopath vibes, quite like The Girl in 6E which is just amaaaaazing!
Dear Gabby, my favourite book since I started reading again is The turn of the key’ Ruth ware and I’m going to read ‘Lock every door’ and ‘The nesting’ x I have those in my possession! x Thankyou x
In my dreams I hold a knife is really really good. Definitely my fav thriller of all time! (And I read many many thrillers) also, I love the romance in the book as well. Soooo much.
lol i've read almost all of these except razorblade tears and cabin at the end of the woods, and that shows how much i love you and support your channel/watch your videos heh! my all time fav thrillers are to be devoured by sara tantlinger and i'm thinking of ending things by ian reid:)
I absolutely love your videos..you get so into to explanations..I have listened to so many books you have recommended…not one has disappointed yet..which one out of this list would you recommend to read/listen to first..?
You are going to love False Witness so much! Another story about sisters. Also have you read Before I Let You Go BY Kelly Rimmer? I think you'd like that one too.
I think you would like Intercepts: A horror novel by T.J. Payne. If you enjoy it, it’d be awesome to see it in one of your videos, so others can enjoy it as well!
I may read The Turn of the Key on your recommendation. I don’t care for other Ruth Ware books that I’ve read. Will definitely check out The Silent Patient.
The Silent Patient revived the Thriller genre for me. I was left in complete shock when the twist was revealed. I truly hope there's an adaptation of this novel. .
I’ve read many of the books you mention. As a rule I do not like unreliable narrators or unlikeable main characters so my top thriller books would only overlap with a few of yours. Like Big Little Lies and Finlay Donovan is killing it. I do think the ones you love the most are good books, just not my tropes. Love the glasses.
Whoooa this is awesome!! I literally bought Turn of the key, Pretty Girls, Cabin at the end of the world, A Kind Worth Killing TODAY!! I feel so validated now! 😋
Hi Gabby! Love your reviews and vlogs. Have you ever read any of "The Asylum Confessions" series by Jack Steen? I personally love them because the stories are told in such a unique way. Great thrillers. I know you adore thrillers as well so I thought you'd like this recommendation. My favorite thriller is by far "The Silent Patient".
I decided to pick two books from the list. I decided to get the Silent Patient and I'm not sure which one I should get I just like thrillers with crazy plot twists.
Good recommendations. I just finished this book. Cross Kingdom, The Shiva-Gate Conspiracy, written by Reece McKnight. It is action packed and a true page turner. Highly detailed you will be hooked. The book can be found on Amazon and Lulu. Someone should make this a movie!
Gabby will probably never see this. But to everyone else in the comments her book recs are really good. I tried to become an active reader since my freshman year of college but I could not find a genre I like (I can't stand sappy romance). this channel put me on the best thriller books! I finished The Silent Patient in two days! Literally read it in the hair salon and during my free time at my clinical rotation. If your someone like me who could not finish a book for the life of them, switch genres! try a book that totally out of your comfort zone and stop reading 'popular' books because I realize that the sappy popular books that everyone is always talking about makes me freaking bored. I'm a murder mystery girl. so find your perfect match!
I am currently reading the turn of the key, I'm enjoying it so far, I'm not really a big reader, I have so many books that I want to read, but just don't have the time, I love a good thriller, and I love horror, so thank you for your recommendations, I'm not sure if you realize how helpful it is to have videos like these. :) I have also watched Gone Girl, but I have never read the book, I must do that at some point, May I ask a question. most of your books have stickers on them, do you buy them like that? or do you have a system with them. Probably a really daft question. Lol
It seems you like reading about siblings with good story. I suggest you read Iron House by John Hart.. It so well written mystery/thriller book about brothers. Comparable to Long Bright River.
Finally made a video on my all time favorite thrillers! 😍 I’d love to know, what is your all time favorite thriller book? Comment below to let me know ⬇️

i just finished the silent patient last night & it’s the best book i’ve ever read, also the first thriller i have ever read, using this video for book recs😊
Another classic that blew my mind just like The Silent Patient is The Unexpected Guest by Agatha Christie. Both books keep you guessing what the hell is happening till the end, in a good way, and then the ending will blow your mind.
I read the Maidens before I even bought Silent Patient. Will I be ruined?
@@nas10iris no you won’t!! The maidens is just the second book from the author it’s not a sequel or anything :)
I think you would really like "Shiver", by Allie Reynolds! It's isolated location, snowy, and a friend's reunion. Absolutely all time favorite for me!!!
Yes to this!! Loved it so much🖤 Can't wait to read more from Allie Reynolds
Pretty Girls may be my all time favorite thriller!
my biggest flex is that i guessed the twist of 'the silent patient' from the 1st chapter lmao
Yaa, if you have read Agatha Christie's the murder of Roger ackroyd then it's easy to guess.. 😂.Even the author of silent patient is a fan of Agatha Christie
I'm with you there, it was not well hidden!
That’s so crazy how some people like me never saw it coming and others literally figured it out within a couple pages lol

And the aggtm series it's so easy to predict those three books twists especially 3rd and 2nd.
Have you seen the show? Is it like this? I bought the book after the show, haven't read yet. Have too many books and not enought time :(
@@nas10iris the show is great too in my opinion
Agree with so many of these picks: Finlay Donovan, Home Before Dark, The Silent Patient, Long Bright River, Rock Paper Scissors 😍
I can’t believe I haven’t been spoiled for Gone Girl! It’s been on my TBR since it came out.
I love the fact that u keep holding up the books while u talk about it i like taking screenshots so i can read them later
Gabby will you do a ranking video of all your BOTM books?? I tried to search and nobody has one and I am always looking for add on’s from the past.

The Silent Patient ending actually made me so mad I threw the book across the room and declared it one of my most hated endings of all time. 🤣
Haha yeah it’s not for everyone 😬😅
I loved it!! So wild
did you not like the twist or the open ending?
@@b5753 the twist. The main character blamed it all on the "therapist" when it was still ultimately her decision. Maybe a reread will change my mind.
@missa then ig you need to take your psychology lessons. It wasn't h3r decision entirely

I am so looking forward to the sequel of Finlay Donovan coming next year! Can't wait! Eeeekkkk
Lock every door and cabin at the end of the world are my favorite thriller genre books
I’m about to listen to the audiobook for Rock Paper Scissors! Pretty excited!
Female sociopath vibes, quite like The Girl in 6E which is just amaaaaazing!
the way that i’ve read & loved 90% of these 💅💅 good taste only
🥰🥰🥰
Dear Gabby, my favourite book since I started reading again is The turn of the key’ Ruth ware and I’m going to read ‘Lock every door’ and ‘The nesting’ x I have those in my possession! x Thankyou x
In my dreams I hold a knife is really really good. Definitely my fav thriller of all time! (And I read many many thrillers) also, I love the romance in the book as well. Soooo much.
Those pink clear glasses are AMAZING ON YOU! 👓
lol i've read almost all of these except razorblade tears and cabin at the end of the woods, and that shows how much i love you and support your channel/watch your videos heh! my all time fav thrillers are to be devoured by sara tantlinger and i'm thinking of ending things by ian reid:)
i think i have been missing out. I have only done a few thrillers, but you have me inspired!
I absolutely love your videos..you get so into to explanations..I have listened to so many books you have recommended…not one has disappointed yet..which one out of this list would you recommend to read/listen to first..?
I literally found my match book reader! Most of the book matched with my own list. Thanks a lot for sharing !
I just bought Behind Her Eyes this weekend! I saw it at Half Price Books and had to buy!
Everytime I watch any of your book videos I end up putting them all on my goodreads tbr!
You are going to love False Witness so much! Another story about sisters. Also have you read Before I Let You Go BY Kelly Rimmer? I think you'd like that one too.
The new specs look so good on you 😍
Thank you!!
Behind her eyes is a Netflix series if you haven’t seen it already!!
I just read The Straw Men-Michael Marshall. Great stuff! There are 2 more books in this series I have on order.
the kind worth killing is so good!!
I recently read Every Last Secret by A.R. Torre and LOVED it!!!
Buddy Lee was a nut 😂 I’m like “where is the movie at??!”
If you like shocking plot twists, you have to read Fingersmith by Sarah Waters. A fabulous book for many other reasons as well!
Gabby make another read with me! I’ve been reading with your video from last year and love it 😊
Gabby! We are thriller twins, like for real. Between this video and your tier ranking, we have such similar opinions on thrillers. 🧡☺️
The Silent Patient revived the Thriller genre for me. I was left in complete shock when the twist was revealed. I truly hope there's an adaptation of this novel. .
I would suggest u to try Voyagers of hell. The content is very original. Also it has such a mind blowing ending.
Straight to the point very well summed up
I love you❤️
Yayyyy. This is my all time favourite booktube video
Made a list, going to read all of the ones I haven’t. Will have read all of them by the years end.
Whoooa this is awesome!! I literally bought Turn of the key, Pretty Girls, Cabin at the end of the world, A Kind Worth Killing TODAY!! I feel so validated now! 😋
Loved this video! I just picked up The Kind Worth Killing to read for this month and I can't wait to get to it!
I have never read The Guest List but it sounds very similar to one of my favourite mystery thriller writers Agatha Christie And Then There Were None
The Cabin at the end of the world yes they made a movie out this year...but read the book first. Knock at the Cabin I think is what it's being called✌
Hi Gabby! Cool list! One suggestion: THE MERMAIDS SINGING by Val Mcdermid - tense and graphic.
Love this video!!! Thanks for sharing 📕💕
Hey gabby can you do it for horrors?
I am currently reading the turn of the key, I'm enjoying it so far, I'm not really a big reader, I have so many books that I want to read, but just don't have the time, I love a good thriller, and I love horror, so thank you for your recommendations, I'm not sure if you realize how helpful it is to have videos like these. :) I have also watched Gone Girl, but I have never read the book, I must do that at some point, May I ask a question. most of your books have stickers on them, do you buy them like that? or do you have a system with them. Probably a really daft question. Lol
Well now I'm off to read all the books in this video! ♥️
The Push, The One, Pretty Girls are all soooo good!!!
I have read The Kind Worth Killing, It's a good book, It's one of my favourite mystery thriller books.
This was a great video. Could. you make your best novella reads? Im curious as to what you like.
It seems you like reading about siblings with good story. I suggest you read Iron House by John Hart.. It so well written mystery/thriller book about brothers. Comparable to Long Bright River.
Was The One also adapted for television? I feel like I have heard of it before today.
I just added 10 books to my tbr lol
