I love and appreciate how you broke down the difference between the genres of thrillers vs mystery. 😄 The Silent Patient was also my very first thriller, and I loved it!
I enjoyed hearing about your first thriller and wanted to share mine. Since I am 70 years old, these books are kinda vintage(-: #1 The Collector by John Fowles #2 Rosemary's Baby by Ira Levin #3 The Other by Thomas Tryon. Have you read these or heard of them? Check them out!
We have a VERY similar thriller taste!! I am standing with you on the Daisy Darker hill 😂👯♀️ I’ve read many of these buuuuut a few I haven’t so now I know I can trust your thriller recs because many of these would be on my own list!!!
The housemaid, the last word, and the only one left are the only ones on here I’ve read. I’m shook. 😲 running to add all your favorites up on my tbr! 😂😂
A lot of the books you mentioned are some of my favourites so I’ve added all the ones I have not read to my amazon cart and purchasing. Thank you for the recommendations and have a great day!❤
My favorite thriller from this list is The Last Word! It was crazy and I loved it! Great Video thank you! I just like thriller videos as that is my favorite genre. Seems I have to look hard for those videos.
The Silent Patient! I’m sitting here wondering if they made a movie, because that is how vivid that book is in my memory! And it has been years since I read it!
Yet I don’t agree that Ruth Ware is a thriller author. I haven’t enjoyed anything by her that I’ve tried. But regardless I feel like she writes more mystery. 😆
Hello Hannah, I am always looking for lists of great thrillers as they are my favorite. I absolutely loved Rock, Paper, Scissors. I loved that each chapter was the bridal gift representation. The Turn of the Key is on my TBR, I am late to the game. I do like Ruth Ware, The Woman in Cabin 10 had THE craziest ending ever! The one thing I didn't like about Lisa Jewell's book is that we never get the sense the wife is grieving her husband. Your top reads are on my 5* list as well. Daisy Darker is my most anticipated TBR. Thank you for such an excellent job of giving overviews as well as your feelings about the book. Such fun!
I love your reviews. I love your thriller videos and appreciate your explaining the difference. Thrillers are my current favorites! I also like cozy mysteries and would like to know your favorites of those. On the reviews you did today, I wrote down several I want to add to my list. I have read only 2 Riley Sager novels but want to read them all. I absolutely LOVED his book "The House Across the Lake." Amazing! In spite of Casey being an alcoholic, I grew to really like her and liked the character arch she went through. Now the book you loved, "The Only One Left" While I absolutely love a good twist -- or three-- in a thriller, this particular one gave me total whiplash and I didn't feel the twists were at all plausible. I didn't like any of the characters and really grew to dislike several.
An excellent thriller book that was also the ONLY one that I had to turn off at night: "The Last Girl Left." I don't ever get scared or creeped out, but this one did it.
Thanks, will definitely check out a few! I had too many disappointments with this genre, the ones I chose were just not thrilling. Very few I enjoyed, namely 4: the Therapy (Sebastien Fitzek), the Silent Patient, The Butterfly Garden (Dot Hutchinson) and Stillhouse Lake (Rachel Caine). Yet to try a Riley Sager book...
You mentioned a few already on my list & Hidden Pictures is the book we are reading in October for the book club I'm in. Daisy Darker is the only book on your list that I've read & I did enjoy it...not as much as you but I did like it. I did guess correctly pretty early on the main twist with Daisy but I didn't figure out the second part with the granddaughter. Good book still. :)
Ok wow. I have read almost ALL THESE books, maybe not like two of the books I didn’t, but your not going to believe this but I have NOT read THE ONLY ONE LEFT by Sager yet, I KNOW right!!!! Well I will be now. Great video
OMG, your list is amazing! I just added so many books to my wish list 🤣 creepy kids? Yes! People being crazy (or are they?)? Check! Revenge? Yes, please!!! Eeeee!!! Awesome video!
Wow, I am a first time viewer here and just wanna let you know that your reading taste is very similar to mine and I like that. And yeah waiting for the new Riley Sager's new book review. He is also my favourite author.
I just finished The Only One Left about 30 minutes ago. I don't think Riley Sager is for me. But I must say the last 100 pages of this book bumped up my review at least 2 stars (4⭐) for me. I got chills/goosebumps through this book towards the end. It really did redeem itself. Glad I stuck through it. Great book. I added a lot of your recommendations to my list to check out.
Great recommendations I had most on my radar or I have read but still found a few 😍 One of my favorite thriller this year was Everyone here is lying by Shari Lapena.
Just wanted to thank you so much for the trigger warnings! I don’t read a lot of thrillers bc I’m easily triggered, but I do love a good fast-paced thrilling read, so it’s hard to know what to pick up 😅 Question: I really liked No Exit (great concept, strong FMC, locked-room mystery), but I found the end to be too gruesome for me. Is The Last Word similar? Any other recs for someone like me who wants something more than a cozy mystery or Agatha Christie? Just steer me clear of the paranormal, graphic SA, and too much gore 🫣
None of This is True is a really good one, it’s more like a rich-people drama and psychological. I will have to think about some more and potentially make a video! ☺️ The Last Word does get pretty gruesome, but it’s more heart-pumping than anything!
I liked The Death of Mrs Westaway. But I didn't like The Turn of the Key. I did read all Ruth Ware books until the IT Girl. I didn't get to the new books. But these books seem interesting. I read Then She Was Gone by Lisa Jewell and I liked it. There is this book, One-Star Romance by Laura Hankin. I guess your book goes the other way 😂
@@theteacherstbrHave you read The Chair? By Adrian McKinty? OMGosh 😮 I kept passing it by bc about children; BUT I am soooo glad I finally read it! You will never forget this one!!!
Giirrrrl, but I did guess the Daisy Darker twist. A couple pages in 😂 Well, ONE of the twists. I was kind of joking to myself like oh wouldn’t it be funny if… and then I was right 🙈
i just finished the silent patient 🫣 i know i know, late to the game! but MAN i loved it!! I’m literally going to make my way down this list these all sound SO GOOD! New subscriber here! 🫶
@@theteacherstbr I'm kinda.nee to reading alot but it was the first audiobook I ever listened to and I was hooked but alot.of people actually say it's their actual favorite from all the books from that author
Wow!! I love hidden pictures that is my top thriller right now but I have not read a whole lot of thrillers. The only ones I have read on this list besides that one is the housemaid, The Family Game, and The Last Word. Which I loved them all. I actually have daisy darker on my shelf right now, I checked it out of my library and now it’s immediately gonna be the book I read next! I am so glad you made this list and I can’t wait to read them all cause I just love a good thriller!!🩷🩷🩷🩷

The Last Word was the most fun I've had reading a book. It felt like watching a movie the entire time

WAHOOO! I’m not alone! 🤣🙈 I love it!
So many of these are on my TBR already and now I am adding a few more. I am kind of new to thrillers but have enjoyed most of them that I have read.
Oh, yay! I hope you enjoy! ☺️
A thriller recommend video from the Queen of thrillers?! 😲👏🏻👏🏻
Oh shucks, what a title. 👸🤣❤️
What a great list!! Rock Paper Scissors, The Last Word, Hidden Pictures, and The Housemaid are favorites of mine as well 😄

I agree with your definition of thriller and mystery! 💜 Rock Paper Scissors is one of my all-time favorites.
Yes, yes, yes! I can’t get over that snowy isolated church setting!
The Silent Patient was also my first adult thriller, and it’s still one of my all time favorites! 👏
I STILL think about that twist. 😅

Aw, thank you so much!! 😊
I binged Minka Kent’s books. She scratches an itch for thriller reading in just the right way.
Yes!! I am so excited that I discovered her! 😋
I agree with your thoughts on the differentiation of genres. I divide into 3 - cozy mysteries, mysteries, and thrillers. 😉
Yet I don’t agree that Ruth Ware is a thriller author. I haven’t enjoyed anything by her that I’ve tried. But regardless I feel like she writes more mystery. 😆
Omg I think you put me back into a thriller mood! Loved The Family Game!
And The Last Word creeped me out so bad! I started reading it during a bad thunderstorm 😂
