Did anyone notice that her bookshelf look like harry potter houses, gryffindor, hufflepuff, slytherin AND ravenclaw, and she looks like a real life alice??(best crossover EVER) "Alice in Hogwarts"
i think it's cuz of the color organization. most books are bright colors, because they catch the eye on shelves. and those basic colors are red, green, blue and yellow, like the colors of the harry potter houses. so because of those basic colors being everywhere, anytime i see all four of them together, everything looks like harry potter houses to me, lol
Hi Hailey, I’m Italian🇮🇹 and even though I don’t have access to all the books you mention (because there is no Italian version, and I still find difficult to focus and read an entire book in English), I just love listenting to you talking about them and reviewing them, I find it very relaxing😌😌 Thank you for keeping me company during this quarantine💖💖
Looking at the titles, I have heard of them, but never ever read any of them. But they all sound interesting. Love a beautiful recommendations video 🌸🌸💕💕
I think that the Great Library series, by Rachel Caine, is highly underrated. Thank you so much for making all these book recommendations videos! I love them.
I recommend The School for Good and Evil for a fantasy book. Even though this is actually a kid’s book, it’s actually pretty ok to read at any age tbh. My mom read this book and she loved it and even though I got it when I was 11 to this day it is still my favourite series for some reason. Maybe attachments but still. If you want to find the book by looking for the author, his name is Soman Chainani
I feel this I’m 17 and I objectively feel like it’s a great middle grade series. I kind of feel dumb or not “grown up” enough sometimes for enjoying middle grade to break up some adult and ya but it’s so underrated and fun!
Some reaaally underrated books: The Dark Days Club trilogy Do they hear you when you cry The Silence - Tim Lebbon Lethal Velocity + The hidden room - Lincoln Child The Tigers Wife
This entire quarantine I’ve just been sitting around waiting for new videos from Hailey (and I’m so excited, thank you for entertaining us during this crazy time, stay safe & healthy queen) !!!!
That’s technically a middle grade series and its very popular among kids and preteens (i work at a book store and that’s always who buys it) so that’s probably why you never see it on booktube, its not a YA series! :)
A. I didnt personally enjoy flashback that much since I’m team Keefe but I read legacy and it is one of my favorite books in the series. So give it a try:)
I’ll have to read Far From the Tree. I was raised from birth by my grandparents. A brother I never knew I had found me last year, we share the same parents but he was given up for adoption at birth. My half sister and brother were raised by the bio mom of all four of us and the bio dad of my half brother. I find nature vs nurture very interesting because of this. Thanks for the recommendation.
I’m really proud now that you have Dutch relatives, I’m not from the Netherlands but I’m from Belgium so not that far off! But thank you for more recommendations I heard of them but never picked them up so I will look into them!
I would love some sci-fi(space based) recs! I feel like there s an abundance of them out there that I just don't know about and it kills me because that's my favourite genre
gurbani mahajan I think she didn’t put any sci-fi because Hailey doesn’t really read that genre. I remember her latest bookshelf tour and she had like 5 sci-fi books there.
I hadn't read much sci-fi for decades, but I joined a sci-fi reading book to get back into it and the first book I read was The Long Way to a Small, Angry Planet by Becky Chambers. Really enjoyed it. Also enjoyed Skyward and Starsight by Brandon Sanderson. Also loved An Absolutely Remarkable Thing by Hank Green.
Finally hailey! Watching ur videos makes my whole day! I was literally desperate for ur videos i was literally watching ur old videos and finally today u posted a video I’m so happyyy
I stopped in the middle of the video to go add some of the books to my goodreads TBR list. I ended up being there for 50 minutes and with 45 new books to my TBR list🤦♀️
I’m so glad that you love Wolf by Wolf so much - I read it for the first time a couple years ago and was so sad that nobody had heard of it! I’m also glad to hear you mentioning Unwind because now everyone loves Scythe but I read Unwind back in high school and was completely obsessed with it - and I never hear anyone talking about it! Some of my favorites that I never hear people talking about are Unwind, Code Name Verity, and the His Fair Assassin trilogy
clearly i have a problem, because i've heard of every single book, and i HAVE ALL of the fantasy ones, and some of the others (i'm not as into contemporaries, so...)
I recommend The Odds of Loving Grover Cleveland by Rebekah Crane. It follows a girl at a summer camp for kids with different disorders and I haven't found any mainstream booktubers who've talked about it.
I read Wolf By Wolf due to your recommendation and really enjoyed it! Going to read the second instalment soon and I have Prisoner of Night and Fog in my list too! Thank you 😚
Just found this channel and I love it! Thank you for sharing about these books Hailey they sound so interesting I really want to try out The Crowns game it sounds so interesting!!
Lots of books get the hype they deserve, but lots of books get way MORE hype than they deserve, causing some deserving books to not get ANY hype, even if they are universally and objectively better. Thank you for this video! You're AMAZING Hailey! I might make a video like this as well, now that I think about it. I've read a lot of under-hyped books.
Princess of the Midnight Ball, is a 12 dancing princesses retelling that I remember really enjoying as a teen. Quick read. Beautiful imagery of the land and gardens. Very good Springtime or stuck inside read 😅
So I have been binge watching your videos, I am trying to get into reading again. I am almost finished with Girl in the Blue Coat. Oh my goodness is it good! I can’t put it down! Definitely a good book to get me back into reading! Thank you for the recommendation! ❤️
I've never noticed how we have very similar reading interests! A very underrated book series is called The Atlantis Grail series by Vera Nazarian. Tagline of the 1st book is "Qualify or Die". 1st ebook, Qualify, is free on multiple ebook platforms too!
Definitely adding The Geography of Lost Things to my TBR. One day I was in an indie bookstore, and a local author was there promoting her book, The Diminished. It's about a world where everyone has a twin, and the chaos that ensues if something happens to your twin. It was easily one of my favorite books of 2018, but I've never heard of it mentioned anywhere else!
Can you do a video on how you create your TBR list, as I would like to start something like that. I love your videos and I have been wondering if you could just do a video on your book goals/ how to create a TBR list.
oh man i remember the very very first time i read prisoner of night and fog way back when i first started my channel and i'm pretty sure it was because you recommended it in one of your old videos ! loved that book!
Love this idea!! xx hope you and Charlie and everyone are doing well. Thank you for posting such lovely content really boosts spirits. Your energy is contagious and I love it! Thank you x
hi hailey, i finished reading The Geography of Lost Things yesterday and I loved it so much. And I liked it better than Chaos of Standing Still. I mean I loved Chaos of Standing Still but The Geography of Lost Things was really, really amazing. I loved the way it was written and the whole trading stuff and I was curious to know more about Jackson throughout but I certainly didn't anticipate the end. I just loved it so thank you
K Weikel is an indie author that I love. I’m basically the only person who read her so it’s like a secret cache of stories. I highly recommend her book When the Sky Eats. It comes out in a few days. I got to read an arc and it was SO FUN.
This was a great video. I hadn't heard of most of these books and others I was familiar with the title or cover but hadn't given much thought to them. I put quite a few on my Goodreads Want to Read list, thank you! You asked for recommendations in return and, while this book is well known, because it was published long ago it might be a book you hadn't considered reading. It's one of my favorite stories - The Bean Trees by Barbara Kingsolver.
One of my favorite underrated books is Am I Normal Yet by Holly Bourne! She's a small British author, so not many people outside of the UK have heard of her. She writes books about mental illnesses and feminism. Am I Normal Yet is about a girl named Evie who is about to start college (British college) and is battling OCD and anxiety. The book is actually in a trilogy called the spinster club!
A book that you may not have heard of is Tiger's Curse by Colleen Houck. It is about a girl who is looking for a summer job to help her pay for college. She gets one at a traveling cercuse, and becomes close with one of the animals witch is a tiger, and gets mixed up in a 300 year old Indian curse.
A lot of these books I have heard of (definitely not all!) but for once totally agree that these are all underrated and not talked about much at all. Which is honestly a first, most of the time these lists tend to have a lot of books that were hyped and popular a few years ago but not talked about lately..and then call them underrated which I won’t agree with. This list actually contained books that I’ve only seen 0-3 people talk about before on UA-cam! Well thought out list, with some titles I’ve either forgotten existed or never heard of in general!
Okay but girl in the blue coat is my legitimate all time favorite historical fiction. I’ve reread it about 4 times and every time it leaves a feeling behind where you need to pick it up again
We have really similar taste in books so i'm always super excited when you talk about books that not everyone talks about! The Chaos of Standing Still was SO good. I read it during christmas break and could not put it down. My bf recently got me a book cowritten by Jessica Brody that is a retelling of Les Misérables. Can't wait to read it.
Theres this book series I read a when I was younger and literally no ones talked about it and theres so few ratings but I remember the series being good and the series is "the prince warriors" its underrated af and the books r the first books I read after so long of not wanting to read bc of my dyslexcia, they got me back into reading.
I'm realizing now how many books you've influenced me to read because even though I've never heard other people talk about these books, I've read 5 of the ones on this list because you talked about them!
I have heard of most of those, but have only read a few. Entwined is my favorite retelling of all time, such an amazing book! Some of my recs: Far, Far Away by Tom McNeal; Bone Gap by Laura Ruby; The Slip series by David Estes; Timebound by Rysa Walker; Last Days of Summer by Steve Kluger; Crusade by Nancy Holder and Debbie Vigue; For Darkness Shows the Stars by Diana Peterfreund; The Forgetting by Sharon Cameron.
If u haven’t already, u should definitely read the glass castle by Jeanette Walls. It’s a memoir but reads more like contemporary. I loved it so much, and I think u would too!
Just finished reading The Chaos Of Standing Still and overall, I really liked it. Yes, there were some points which I felt could've been dealt with better like bringing in Siri and Jimmy but overall, it was great. Thank you so much for recommending it! :)
Girl in the Blue Coat made me love Monica Hesse. Bought The War Outside by her as well and it was just as good. Now I just want to read all of her books.
I think The Old Kingdom by Garth Nix is super underrated. There are strong female characters, a very unique magic system, necromancy, living dead and a very interesting concept of Death. Oh and a magical library and talking animal companions. like why aren't peoole gushing about it all around??
I love this idea of a video Hailey! I read some of these and own some of these. The ones I read is: Far from the tree (Read it last year and loved it), The crown's game (Still need to read the sequel sadly), and pride (Which is another one I read last year and loved it). The ones I own is: The girl in the blue coat, Wolf by wolf and american street. Maybe I should pick them up now!(:
Some books I think are very underrated are the Keepers series by Ted Sanders, and the butterfly series by Denise Deegan, I would really recommend them! Thanks for keeping us sane during quarantine with these videos :-)
One of my favorite books that I think is unheard of is Ophelia by Lisa M Klein. It's a historical fiction / retelling about Ophelia from Hamlet, and what her point of view could have been. Really great book!
Okay, so the only book I’ve heard of on this list is Wolf by Wolf BECAUSE I’ve been watching your videos so much lately. The rest are all new to me & I’ll be reading a ton of these now!
I just finished Here we are now by Jasmine Warga. I don’t hear much about it but I enjoyed it. It’s about a girl whose dad shows up on her doorstep and wants to take her to meet her dying grandfather and follows her journey to find out what happened in her parents past.
"The Time Keeper" by Mitch Albom. It's a quick but interesting read that follows Father Time and his discovery of time. He is sent to purgatory for introducing the concept to man, and he is let out 6000 years later to help two people in modern day. One wants more time, one wants less. I highly recommend!
I cant leave the house to buy books and the place that I order books from only allows me to order essentials 😓 now I'm stuck reading books that I've been procrastinating on reading. Help.
It's so cool you have Dutch heritage! I'm watching this from The Netherlands on May 5th, which is actually "Liberation Day" here, we celebrate our liberation from Nazi Germany and the ending of WW II. Definitely adding the Girl in the Blue Coat to my TBR! :)
Omg, you have to read the land of stories series, they're actually so good. And Chris colfer just released the beginning of a prequel series to the land of stories! !!!
We have to crown you the quarantine queen cause honestly, you’re delivering the best stuff during these hard times

Did anyone notice that her bookshelf look like harry potter houses, gryffindor, hufflepuff, slytherin AND ravenclaw, and she looks like a real life alice??(best crossover EVER) "Alice in Hogwarts"
Maka Saya yesss !!!

"They make a book out of their skin"
OH.
"like, not their skin but the words"
Oh 😒
I'm pretty sure that they actually make the book out of their skin.
@@krystin7740 That's what I remember too
Hi Hailey, I’m Italian🇮🇹 and even though I don’t have access to all the books you mention (because there is no Italian version, and I still find difficult to focus and read an entire book in English), I just love listenting to you talking about them and reviewing them, I find it very relaxing😌😌
Thank you for keeping me company during this quarantine💖💖
Hey , i am really fascinated by the italian language and i wanna learn it , can you advice me a couple books in Italian 🙂
@@TheDope415 I will, I promise😌
Looking at the titles, I have heard of them, but never ever read any of them. But they all sound interesting. Love a beautiful recommendations video 🌸🌸💕💕
Georgie Farr I’m so glad you enjoyed! 🥰
dang our queen delivering so much content, am no longer about to go insane from quarantine
I think that the Great Library series, by Rachel Caine, is highly underrated. Thank you so much for making all these book recommendations videos! I love them.
this needs more upvotes!!
I recommend The School for Good and Evil for a fantasy book. Even though this is actually a kid’s book, it’s actually pretty ok to read at any age tbh. I just finished Crystal of Time. Can’t wait for One True King!
Renoir I love that series! I doubt I'll ever grow out of it.
As a 17 year old re-reading the series I totally agree!
I feel this I’m 17 and I objectively feel like it’s a great middle grade series. I kind of feel dumb or not “grown up” enough sometimes for enjoying middle grade to break up some adult and ya but it’s so underrated and fun!
You're such positive energy. Thank you for helping us through this. Hugs from Porto, Portugal!
Wiebke Maria Ehmke 💜💜
Some reaaally underrated books:
The Dark Days Club trilogy
Do they hear you when you cry
The Silence - Tim Lebbon
Lethal Velocity + The hidden room - Lincoln Child
The Tigers Wife
Dana M thank you.
Omg they all sound dark! I want to read! Thank you!
The Girl with the Pearl Earring by Tracy Chevalier is so so good!
This entire quarantine I’ve just been sitting around waiting for new videos from Hailey (and I’m so excited, thank you for entertaining us during this crazy time, stay safe & healthy queen) !!!!
I recently read the series named “Keeper of the Lost Cities” and it is verrryy underrated.
@Nas ARAS Reagan from Peruse project also loves that series!
That’s technically a middle grade series and its very popular among kids and preteens (i work at a book store and that’s always who buys it) so that’s probably why you never see it on booktube, its not a YA series! :)
I’ve read the series, but I haven’t started on Legacy. I’m scared of how it’ll go after Flashback lol
A. I didnt personally enjoy flashback that much since I’m team Keefe but I read legacy and it is one of my favorite books in the series. So give it a try:)
I’m reading book 4 of that now and I love it
yay, curing my quarantine boredom :)
Quarantine by Lex Thomas is a super underrated book that booktube has barely heard of. Love your videos Hailey!
I’m just upset she never watched barbie and the 12 dancing princesses
omg, that was exactly what I was thinking about, I was like, there's a barbie movie like that or am I tripping
I adore The Crown's Game! I read it last year and I'm just now getting to the sequel. That ending really hurt my heart, heck, it still does.
I really needed this video because I’m going stir crazy. “They feel trapped in their house” same
I’ll have to read Far From the Tree. I was raised from birth by my grandparents. A brother I never knew I had found me last year, we share the same parents but he was given up for adoption at birth.
You should check out the channel: Books with Emily Fox. She talks about Sci Fi very often. It's her primary genre
Also loved An Absolutely Remarkable Thing by Hank Green.
gurbani mahajan Have you read 'Navigating The Stars?'
so thankful for the genre based time stamps. thanks hailey. love you.
Finally hailey! Watching ur videos makes my whole day! I was literally desperate for ur videos i was literally watching ur old videos and finally today u posted a video I’m so happyyy
This video is giving me such classic Hailey in Bookland vibes. ♥️♥️♥️ Thanks for the nostalgia. 😊
Took some notes so I won’t forget! But I love getting slightly obscure book recs 💕
Gregor the Overlander- Suzanne Collins
Micheal Vey - Richard Paul’s Evans
Quarantine - Lex Thomas
Yes! Gregor the Overlander is one of the books I remember most from when I was younger
Yes!! I am here for underrated books! Thank you Hailey! 🧡🙌🏼
I am definetly going to buy at least 3 books from this video, Thanks a lot Hailey!!💗
I love your book Collections and You always come up with new books and new Video ideas. My Favourite Hailey in Wonderland 😍😍😍😍
Ooh, Ink sounds sooo good! It was on my TBR purely because of the cover, ngl, but the concept sounds great!
I stopped in the middle of the video to go add some of the books to my goodreads TBR list. I ended up being there for 50 minutes and with 45 new books to my TBR list🤦♀️
Love videos where the reccomendations aren't popular books. It makes finding new stuff a lot easier
I’m so glad that you love Wolf by Wolf so much - I read it for the first time a couple years ago and was so sad that nobody had heard of it! I honestly didn’t think this list would contain so many books i’ve never heard of!! I at least added 7 books to my tbr!! Thank you so much xx
clearly i have a problem, because i've heard of every single book, and i HAVE ALL of the fantasy ones, and some of the others (i'm not as into contemporaries, so...)
bottomofastairwell I wouldn’t say you have a problem tho lol
I recommend The Odds of Loving Grover Cleveland by Rebekah Crane. It follows a girl at a summer camp for kids with different disorders and I haven't found any mainstream booktubers who've talked about it.
I read Wolf By Wolf due to your recommendation and really enjoyed it! Going to read the second instalment soon and I have Prisoner of Night and Fog in my list too! Thank you 😚

I know it's not on this list but I'm reading Lovely War today. I hadn't heard of it until you mentioned and it's stunning so far!
Yessss it would definitely be on this list I just hadn’t read it yet!
I just finished it! No words right now
Can you do a video on how you create your TBR list, as I would like to start something like that. I love your videos and I have been wondering if you could just do a video on your book goals/ how to create a TBR list.
I always find Hailey's recs unique. I love it when she talks about books I haven't heard of, it excites me to try underrated books.
oh man i remember the very very first time i read prisoner of night and fog way back when i first started my channel and i'm pretty sure it was because you recommended it in one of your old videos ! loved that book!
I actually added three of the recommendations to my TBR! Good job on gathering books we might have never heard of. I hope you do another!☺️
Hailey, you look beautiful with or without lipstick either way
The Akata Witch duology. Idk if she is writing more, BUT SO GOOD
Thank you so much for these recommendations. It's refreshing to see books that are not so mainstream.
Love this idea!! xx hope you and Charlie and everyone are doing well. Thank you for posting such lovely content really boosts spirits. Your energy is contagious and I love it! Thank you x

A Million Junes had me in tears with the relationship between the father and daughter. One of my favorites forever.
Prisoner of Night and Fog sounds so amazing! Gives me Boy in the Striped Pajamas vibes, but possibly less depressing.
A lot of these books I have heard of (definitely not all!) but for once totally agree that these are all underrated and not talked about much at all. omg i’m gonna buy ink now cause the cover is so pretty
Another really good retelling of the Twelve Dancing Princesses is House of Salt and Sorrows by Erin A. Craig!
House of Salt and Sorrow is also based on twelve dancing princesses by Erin A. Craig. It has a beautiful cover too
I'm realizing now how many books you've influenced me to read because even though I've never heard other people talk about these books, I've read 5 of the ones on this list because you talked about them!

I love WWII historical fiction!!! I’ve already ordered Wolf by Wolf from book outlet!!

The Unicorn Road by Martin Davies. It is a historical fiction which revolves around the voyage to find and collect mysterious beast of the East.
I really enjoyed this video because it felt refreshing to talk about so many underrated books!
Okay I have a few but a REALLY GREAT one (in my opinion) that I feel like no one has heard of is called Cupid’s match it’s a fantasy/romance book.
New subscriber here! I’ve been looking for someone who had a dedicated book tube channel!
Wow, I have actually never heard of any of these. Job well done Hailey, always making my TBR unreasonable 😂
I just finished Here we are now by Jasmine Warga. I don’t hear much about it but I enjoyed it. It’s about a girl whose dad shows up on her doorstep and wants to take her to meet her dying grandfather and follows her journey to find out what happened in her parents past.
I absolutely love the Queens of Renthia Series! So happy you recommend it 😁
I love Ink so much! Spark is just as good❤️
Thank you for these great recommendations! I added Ink and Far From The Tree to my tbr 💛
