    I can't believe you bought this! This is the exact one I bought years ago and it stuck with me. Wasn't the best model and was pretty low quality, but it surprised me a lot of times in just what I found. Sadly, it isn't waterproof but honestly absolute respect 😌
    Here's some stuff I know about this;
    It overheats pretty easy, especially in Florida, that may be why the "dial up internet" sound was happening. Could also be due to the coil getting wet. It also isn't sturdy, but it's pretty flexy. It's helped me find a lot of deep stuff, and honestly was more balanced than my current one im running. After about 4-6 years, it tends to start not registering as much (but it's cheap so that's to be expected).

    I have an old Bounty Hunter I purchased at a pawn shop for $60.00 in 2015. I have found a lot. Gold, silver, relics and, of course garbage. It goes to 6 inches comfortably and hits 8 inches on good days. My UA-cam channel was T-N-T Digger. After watching your channel and several others I am getting the itch to hit the dirt again. Thank you for the videos.

    This is the machine I started with almost 25 years ago. I could write chapters on its use and strengths. I probably have over the years on the forums. The first mistake I made back then was to think that it was an "everything" detector. That is what most people do. They then want to upgrade to something with a readout and depth capabilities.
    The real strength lies in the discriminating circuitry. It has probably the best out there in the price range. Especially in an analog machine.
    You can set it in Tone mode and adjust the disc knob to make a pull tab crackle but have a nickel sound solid.
    All of this takes place in 6 inches or less. That is where it shines. Ball fields, tot lots, yards where you just want to clean up the top layer. The 4" coil will absolutely snipe away where a higher end machine with a bigger coil will fail.
    Depth of the target can be done by slowly raising the coil as you swing. I usually am able to "probe" out a target within 2 inches diameter.
    I own 3 of these with 3 different coil sizes. The simple fun factor at a soccer field can't be matched!
    Great video btw! Play around with it and get a 4" coil. You will have fun.

    The Bounty Hunter is a wonderful little analog machine for beginners and kids! You would be surprised of its capability. It has been known to embarrass some more pricier hobbyists. Lol! However it is not water proof but for 70 bucks?! Also learning to listen to the different analog high and lower tones as opposed to staring at digital screen with numbers constantly is old school.
    Old school rocks!
    Awesome little machine!

    I used my old Bounty Hunter Pioneer 202 for years and getting back into digging I found a new one with carrying bag, pinpointer and small spade for $100.00. I have been digging every day this month. Several gold ring, silver rings and many coins. And the tones are very relaxing.

      My second detector was a B.H. 202 , it found a lot of silver + cool things. It's worked well.

    Like a lot of other commenters, this was my first metal detector. I've since upgraded. The Tracker IV is not a deep machine at all but it does still find things. I used a 40% off coupon at Hobby Lobby to pick this machine up for $49 plus tax many years ago. I still have it and use it for sorting zinc pennies from copper ones.

    This is great! Just today, I tested the cheapest metal detector I could find on Amazon. It was on sale for Black Friday at $31 plus another $18 to get it to Mexico. I did film it and will have the video up in a few days. It was definitely fun to test, and I learned more about my X-Terra Pro in the process. This was a delight to watch, and you're very entertaining.

    This was my first detector and I still love it. I always point beginners to this machine. It simply WORKS. No fancy settings or features, it just beeps when it sees metal. I truly love this machine. It forced me to dig every hole and I learned so much in a short period of time with this machine. I still have one to let my niece use or if a friend comes detecting with me.

      Idk I think The dirt and little rocks and everything in the hole can change your results. That's why sometimes a target sounds really good once you get the hole opened

    I had one. It's pretty rudimentary and crude. The meter was only useful to confirm it actually beeped. Yeah you can find things, but you better dig every beep. Better than nothing, but not by much.

  • @bobcox9836
    @bobcox9836 25 днів тому +1

    In my opinion, it is just as good as a $5000 detector. I dont fall for the Price, and bells and whistles crap. The expensive ones will find stuff at 8 inches, and so will the tracker4. Want to go deeper, put a larger coil on it. Want to look at a screen, go watch TV. Personally, I prefer a 1 knob BFO. I guess I just getting too old!!!!!

    My pulse machine was $1,000 and it has no needle. Just two knobs. And I dig those weak signals happily. I’m buying that machine for my grandson. Thank you.

    Son has one..fine for dig everything searches..descriminator does work for iron but I am not sure how that effects low conductive gold...great for coins and bullets up to six inches.

  • @droidv1
    @droidv1 18 днів тому +1

    The discrimination knob doesnt do anything if you running the machine in all metal mode. Tone mode is nice but doesnt go deep. All metal is frustrating on most properties. And like i said the discrimination knob only works when using DISC mode or Tone mode
    Edit: i made this comment halfway through the video 😂

    I have a bounty hunter. It was my first detector. I used to buy rechargeable batteries for it when they came out. Not as sensitive on small trash so often you dig more good targets than trash.

    • @TreasureOutdoors
      @TreasureOutdoors  4 місяці тому +1

      I've thought about that before... sensitivity can be beneficial but do we really want to hear every tiny piece of foil...
      Those cheap machines are probably great for rings. 💍👍
