Always love your videos! Your clear speaking, parts detailed in descriptions and of course your absolute awesome playing. Happy to see them more frequently
Btw.. i find funk one of the hardest genres, you either catch the groove or you dont. One of main reasons i love NUNO so much

Hey bro, thanks for the great comment. You are so right - you either catch the groove or you don't. :) Rock on!

I couldn't flatten my ring finger without my middle finger coming down and muting the A string. Had to incorporate the pinky, works fine.

Awesome lesson Dave. Cant wait to try it. Need to work on loosening my wrist and funk seems like a great way to practice. Thanks for those chords.

Thanks PDX, that was super helpful and fun to play along. I think I've got the left hand fingerings down for these positions. Suggestions to get the crucial right hand rhythm engaged? playing it slow just doesn't sound right, and fast and sloppy doesn't either lol. many thanks in advance. great lesson, though it was a little hard to hear clearly. Cheers.

Hey bro, thanks! And sorry the audio on the voice isn't super clear. You are right - playing it slow, you tend to lose the feel. Finding the right tempo is important. Perhaps try playing along to a metronome, using that to fine the speed that is most comfortable?

you forgot the most important thing to funk, a groovin bass line! But that scratchin will fix anyones itch.

at 8:40 he suggests turning down your volume if you are on humbuckers. LMAO. Asking a guitarist to turn down is like trying to tell a 4 year old to clean their room. They are either going to cry and or freak out about it, or it's just never going to happen.
