In the 2nd part of the ATX case conversion I perform some of the necessary modifications to the case to accept a micro ATX board and paint the entire case.
This man is the John Wick of MAC pc modding, "Someone please give this man a MAC pc for modding." Excellent job, you did the impossible with this MAC case.
Love the paint color and the conversion. I really liked the silver contrast it would’ve had at the top and bottom pieces before you painted it all . still looks great!
== no need to cut any part of this case ...... pau cables can be extended + go through original mac cable route Motherboard just slide it up to case and install video card.....and use headers to get usb etc No need to use IO morherboard connections at all
love the build! doing one myself and looking for abit of help, how did u get the front usb working, and the metal like psu fan mount thing, i cant find a away to get it out the case
Hi! Your video was the perfect inspiration for me- I found a G5 at goodwill for 20$ and am replicating a lot of what you've done. I appreciate the inspiration. A couple of questions: 1. What saw blade did you use? 2. Did you sand or prep before painting? Could you list the paint used? Thank you so much for the video and help!
I like it very cool,I think I would have gone with a clear plexy glass or something to replace the Mac door instead of cutting, but you were trying to make use of what you had and not spend over so great job and the window looks cool, so un-Mac..
I have no idea how I came across your channel but im glad I did because you have some amazing content. I look forward to the rest of this series. Keep up the good work!! It will pay off.
Gemiflap these cases are matt anodised so most likely don't require sanding for the etch. It looks to me like he has levered on a good few coats of that paint so coverage and show through will not be a problem. I think it looks a lot better in matt black as the original grey is just a shit magnet. I seen one of these professionally anodised in matt black and it was the mutts nuts!
Easier to paint the ends of stand-offs to mark drill locations and then drill holes to put screws through from the other side. No Welding of any kind is needed. Also, what about that huge, gaping fan hole in the rear of it?
Not necessarily better, but I am happy with the way it came out, considering the condition the case was in when I got it, I couldn't really have kept it looking original.
I think it's more about being creative then just simply leaving the original design. Where is the fun in having the same factory case many others already have.

Good job, but painting it black just makes it look like another case. I dig the aluminum look of it originally.

I like the color. I am just about to do something similar. Thank you for sharing this
You spoke of a company that made panels but are expensive. Is there a name of link to them anywhere?
do you know where i can find spacers to fix the motherboard to the case ?

5:38 The paint used is Rust-Oleum Universal Metallic Paint Primer in One Spray Flat 👍
I have like, FIVE G5 cases and have always wanted to do something like this! Thanks for the inspiration!
i have two and i'm trying to do the same thing too
Ditto!

nice
Looks really good, I also like the color, but you probably should have sanded down the case first and used primer before painting.

“Favorite method, eye balling it” lol

Thanks for the comment, really means a lot! I have plenty of things in the works coming up including finishing up this case.
Amazing work! Could you please share the model of your donor case. I can't find the panel like yours with only 4 pcie slots. Thanks
It was an old emachines case from some of my earlier videos.
did you not use any primer and sanding?

That´s a MicroATX not a ATX, less PCI expansion slots
I'm so glad I discovered your channel. Recommendations have been fire lately. #subbed

kinda want do this myself especially since this Apple case alone is cheaper than some other pc cases
... be still, my beating heart. 😍
Decent I might of had the window higher up but it’s better than most peeps could do and very creative
Thanks for watching!
the color its very nice .
super!
Looks cool 😎 That darker grey and the contrasts of the original lighter grey look really nice. Great job on recycling the case to still be used 👍🏻

Whats the point of painting it black and cutting a window? Now it looks like any generic case
I want to remove case completely can I get for $500
The space grey looks good :)

I like the og look more
Can't deny the original is an iconic look, thanks for watching!

I like the painting but why black? It just makes an exotic build look a little more like everyone else is PC case
Wtf.... you think that looks better than the apple design ??
