  • Hi everyone. In this video, I will make a mini PC assembly in a 3D printed case. Modeling this case, I was inspired by the design mac pro 2013. I hope you like my work and the video.

  • @ramaSwamp
    @ramaSwamp Рік тому +7

    I hope the printing materials were in PETG tho cause PLA deforms with time with prolonged heat exposure.
    Also, another thing is the finish after the paint. You should use Rust-oleum 2in1 Barnish for the finish. Good for parts used in hot areas and also to prevent paint chipping and ease of cleaning.

    • @Littleboxofevil

    • @MillionMileDrive
      @MillionMileDrive Рік тому

      Ground is usually connected to the case for situations where there's a short and you can get a shock if you touch the case... but this case is all plastic, not sure if a ground would help since you can't really short to the case... lol

    • @power1x131
      @power1x131 Рік тому +1

      @@MillionMileDrive PC has the potential to build up ESD and then what? It has to discharge somewhere... also floating ground reference which may/may not be kilovolts higher than actually earth ground, all because PC isn't grounded

    Love the end result and the CAD work you put into this, my only point of improvement is to screw the modified power cable extension to the inside of the case from the outside, you'd see the screws and the rectangle for the cable input but you wouldn't have the whole black plastic block sticking out from the bottom!

  • @sierraecho884

    Why not use the strong sides of 3D printing and instead of making a MAC whatever apple copy with smooth surface make a EDM like surface ?
    I don´t get it, people use 3D printing but never use it´s strength´s xD
    God I hope you at least used PETG instead of this PLA crap which will melt in the sun like ice cream.
    The absolut best part of the build is the color scheme of this "trashcan" looking thing. You could have just used some trashcan from the get go, made some cut outs and build the rest inside like you planned.

    I should have gotten a patent. I came up with this case back in 2003. After Apple came out with theirs, my buddy called me up, couldn't believe it. Though everyone still has one fatal flaw in their design I fixed in my design. Too bad I don't have the money for a patent :D

    Looks just like my bathroom trashcan (aside from the great color scheme) or like my Levoit Core 300 air purifier. Dude you did a great job with the CAD and everything, please make a better design. Use some surface stippling EDM like structure of something cool and don´t make it look like a trashcan, at least create come recesses like those SciFi panel thingies.

I think this was wrong and it was not very well thought out, congratulations, it was beautiful...
