Takes up too much time. 8:19 The phrase "clean as a whistle" is thought to originate from the early 18th century. It initially referred to something being clear or unambiguous rather than physically clean. The idea behind it is likely tied to the sound of a whistle, which is sharp, precise, and unerring in its clarity. Over time, the phrase evolved to mean something that is spotless or thoroughly clean, perhaps drawing on the association of a whistle being clear of obstructions to produce its sound. This figurative use became popular in English-speaking cultures and remains in use today. 16:29 A baby donkey is called a foal. This term applies to both male and female donkey offspring. If you want to specify gender, a young male donkey is sometimes called a colt, and a young female donkey is called a filly. These terms are commonly used for other equines, such as horses, as well.

The phrase “as clean as a whistle” likely comes from the clear, pure sound of a whistle, symbolizing something done thoroughly and leaving no trace. In older usage, “clean” meant “completely,” so the phrase suggests precision, much like the distinct sound of a whistle.. unfortunately nothing to do with the cockney whistle and flute . so even though clean or more lightly sharp , could be related to how your dress . But they’re not.
