I wonder why front airbags was deployed and no left curtain for the driver, it was more like side impact not front one. I'm not an expert but I think front ones shouln't go at this moment and stay ready for possible big front impact after hitting sideways at that speed

100% mechanical. Like others I noticed the car start to turn on and then it suddenly went straight on.
Credit to the driver for posting the video, sorry that you get people questioning your driving skills.
It takes balls and commitment to drive fast at the “Ring”, I like driving fast but dont have the bottle to drive the Ring.
Is it just me or you can hear it coming pretty early in the video.. there is a strange whining noise which gets louder and louder by the minute and it finally snaps.
Bloody hell yeah, there's not a chance in hell I'd be driving like that with a noise like that gradually getting louder lol. Tyre rubbing perhaps?
I thought it was the 'sticky' tyres which often have a much higher road noise than normal tyres.
Whining noise, which gets louder with more speed is a indicator for axle bearing failure in my oponion. And it looks, like a wheel locks up right before the crash, so that would also make sense.

The noise isn't changing with how much grip the tyres have, which to me is a clear indicator it was an axle/bearing and not the tyres.
You had a really good run, that was so unexpected at that fucking spot, almost brought it home.
It seems mechanical and not a driver error
The front left suspension snapped. at 945 you can see the front brake caliper position is downward compared to the proper position. this its not tie rod or lower arm as the car wheel is not at too much of a twisted angle. this can only happen if the front suspension damper has failed or the top mount failed. instantly giving his car mega positive camber and removing all the grip from that corner. I am very familiar with both the mqb cupra and s3 and i can say for certain, the front top mount design and mounting angles are flawed for the MQB especially when you lower the car. which he seems to have done. . either he is using an aftermarket shock and topmount combination which failed or he used the stock top mount with lowering springs which twists the top mount in angles it really hates. trust me. been there, done that.

Is the wheel carrier at the tie rod broken? Someone on Facebook got this problem.

Airbags are what gives you the shock from the whole accident imo. The loudness and smoke makes it worse than it actually is.

@@DxCBuG Maybe the ABS was deactivated and the brakes locked up while suddenly braking too hard. But who knows

You can clearly hear something break / not sound right with the car, before it goes off track....

Axle broke. He steered right with the steering wheel still turned right the car all of a sudden drove straight. Right before that you can hear a snap of it breaking.
So sorry to hear mate that this happen again. Hoping nobody got hurt. Poor Seat, rip. Keep strong.

No it didn't, he applied the brakes before the corner locking the wheel up. He's blaming a mechanical error for either insurance or ego purposes.

Heureusement vous deux n'avez rien c'est le principal. Dégoûté quand même pour vous, le Nurb est tellement impardonnable et bon c'est aussi pour ça qu'on aime ce circuit et qu'on est conscient de ce qu'il peut arriver. Bon courage à toi et j'espère que tu retrouvera vite une nouvelle machine.

I may be wrong but that sound like a terrible wheel bearing, if that goes your wheel does not fall off but becomes very loose. Like wobbly.
Im going to sound a little serious here, but it looks like the crash of Senna, obviously on minor scale in all senses. Which one was the failure? I'm curious (since the one of Senna did never clear out to protect Williams)

In Turkey, if the airbags are open then we call it is garbage (pert) even it has a small damage.
that happens in my leon.. it happens if you break too sharply whilst turning your wheels, they just go in the direction your turning away from same thing happens for loads of front wheel drive motors - one lesson i learned is to break before the bend :D

The automatic box increased a change and shortly thereafter reduced at the wrong time of the curve breaking the trace and throwing it out .. that is why it is preferable with the sequential levers only in sport driving. I use a translator. I am sorry..

Freak accident and nothing you could do, but I did think that you tend to ride the correctors quite a bit and that cannot be good for suspension components.
Hope you manage to get yourself back up and that you can somehow cut your losses. It has been very nice to always see you drive - get another Cupra!
My 300 4drive is currently being repaired after a brisk encounter with a sidewalk on a rainy day - they will change the whole rear suspension components.
Thats the end of that car... I dont think it is worth repairing it... Might as well get as many components out of the car and sell it

It actualy sounds like a wheel bearing, probably front . The sound increases when your speed increases and turning. Maybe it failed and locked the front tyre and you know the rest.

You can hear the whining noise change just before the car goes straight. Definately a mechanical failure, that really sucks.
The whining noise should have been an big indicator though, it became more and more apparent as the lap progressed.

La palabra accidente es por algo, esta claro que algo ha fallado pero es parte del juego y el respeto es otra porque nadie conduce perfecto el 100% del tiempo, por esa regla de tres tios como los pilotos de Rallyes o de F1 nunca tendrian hostias y mira las que hay. Ademas de que el error forma parte del aprendizaje, a veces sale mas caro otras no tanto. Asi que afloja y respeto que hay un dicho muy español que dice, el que se alegra del mal del vecino el suyo viene por el camino. Habra que verte a ti el coche o si te pasa algo asi te callabas como p**tas. Este por lo menos tienes los huevos de asumir el error y mostrarlo en publico, para si cabe abrir los ojos de lo que hay y puede pasar en un circuito en un despiste. Gente como tu me pone de muy mala leche, luego a la cara la sonrisa, no tiene tu huevos a decirselo eso a la cara despues de estampar ; ) maquina que eres un maquina.

Mais pas du tous , on entendrait les pneus crissé si il faisait un sous virage .. on voit clairement que ça vient de la direction la
non il va clairement trop vite et juste les pneus se crissent pas forcément lors d un sou virage et la direction ne semble pas etre le probleme si la direction avait pété il aurai eu un retour de volant et la c est pas le cas moi je reste sur mon premier avis d'autant plus quand une direction casse ca s'entend clairement
un peu de survitesse légèrement hors trajectoire et un corps gras sur la piste suffisent largement à provoquer ce petit écart difficilement rattrapable....pas de blessé si ce n'est à l'amour propre.
Aie... C'est vraiment dommage, on sent que tu la maîtrisais bien et que tu connaissais le Ring... J'espère au moins que tu retrouveras vite un véhicule à ton goût qui te procure de bonnes sensations !
