I wish they would show more realistic attacks like kicks and punches. They make demonstrations always with the same attacks...hand comes slowly from above. Or someone try to grab. Thats ok for random guys in the street. But what if someone did some kickboxing or TKD or something like that? I myself did train TKD and Karate. Im not a professional...but sill I know something. But I will see it for myself in a few days when I got to test training in a aikido school.
aikido isn't effective unless you have mastered it, which takes a long time. Aikido is better seen as an art than a fighting techique. I love aikido, but if you want to have a competitive fighting sport to get into I'd look somewhere else. It's made for self defence anyways.
