@@bozzibozziana5366 I think you take for granted that everyone thinks on the same level. During apartheid all our vegetables came from our garden. We also had a few fruit trees that our vegetables were grown around. I had my own little patch that I tended. All we did once a month was buy our dry staples. I can tell you that most of our neighbours did not do the same. Whenever our garden yielded more than we could consume (like potatoes, tomatoes and mielies) we shared these with our neighbour's. Don't just GIVE food, teach the people to grow their own food! Give them seed, water, fertilizer. If you give them a food parcel they eat for a month, if you teach them to grow their own, you feed them for the rest of their lives!
As hard as it is to say this, the truth is that the ANC government wants and needs people to be dependent on them. That is why they have ruined the education system so that people do not think for themselves anymore. The ANC thinks it is an achievement to have 27.3 mil + people on grants. It is a way for them to secure their vote. If people fear losing their grants they will keep voting ANC. Instead of teaching people new skills and empowering them so that they can look after themselves. But this causes people not to be dependent on the sate anymore and as they become more aware of what is going on they will see the African National Criminal organization for what they truly are.
And with this problem which is not new, they've introduced new laws for the agri industry forcing farmers to take on BEE partners. Pretty soon, the entire country will be facing starvation. How about adding seed packets per care package? Then they can plant their own food. Add a 'how to plant' pamphlet. Teach the nation how to sustain themselves aswell.
Charities are part of the problem there needs to be more self sustainability programs which educate them and give them the tools and resources neasesary
🥺This is beyond heartbreaking 💔, I don’t have a kid yet but it brought tears to my eyes🥺. I would like for Gift of the Givers to also give these people vegetable seeds as some security while they still get food parcels 📦 . Veggies usually grow in 3 months. They have big yards, fertile soil and I think it rains a lot that side. Yes this was about babies but also the entire families should be given a task to start growing something which would help in the long run. I am so heartbroken I can’t believe this is SA, wow😢.
We need to start teaching agriculture concepts in communities. Most homes in SA have a yard... even 10% of the yard can be dedicated to growing something. It's such a heartbreaking thing to see... there shouldn't be any hunger in the times we live in...
You need money for these plans of yours. It's not that simple and these people don't have money. I wish everyone who shouts planting and feeding yourself can understand, that in order for you to start , You need money
This is too heartbreaking. I work with children running an after school care programme in Garankuwa - 11 year old in grade 2, still can't read; the parent doesn't appear bothered, the system will soon ostracise this child and his future is bleak. We hear stats but when we put face to number it's devastating. I can't even begin to talk about our government
Starving with all that green land, no single vegetable garden? no chickens in the yard? no ducks? aw ngeke this is just weird now..... It must be hard being the Government of South Africa, leading people who are sitting on their areses and expecting political miracles all the time...
Unfortunately in S.A. the poor and ignorant are sheep following the incorrect shepard. Lead by example the famous saying. So why can our government leaders have up to 11 or 12 wives and various leaders have between 6 to 15 children but the people cannot...these are poor non-educated ignorant people that do not have access to hospitals only clinics that do not have food never mind contaceptives or birth control or Dr's. Think outside the box mate!!
To grow food sustainably you need water , seed , and proper planing . Sometimes you need soil tests , fertiliser and know how to control pests or pesticides . Succession plantilng and diversity is needed . To live 12 months and through winter from a garden alone , with no finances to support your garden... definitely not that easy .
These are communal lands if local gvt could drill solar powered boreholes and teach communities to grow their food, it could go a long way to curb food shortage becz food charity isn't sustainable
It deeply saddens me to see the ongoing struggle with hunger in our country. I'd like to propose that @Carte Blanche consider raising donations and sponsors for seeds, specifically for various vegetables and fruits. This initiative could significantly impact communities in villages, especially those with available land on their properties. By providing seeds, we empower these communities to start their own gardens, cultivating a sustainable source of food. This not only addresses immediate hunger concerns but also fosters self-reliance. Extending this initiative to schools could further enhance food security for children. This way, we can contribute to building a foundation for these communities to grow their own produce, ensuring a more stable and long-term solution to the pervasive issue of hunger. The focus on local solutions and community empowerment aligns with the context of our nation, addressing the specific needs of those who need it the most.

This is truly shocking ANC - you are not even able to look after the poorest of the poor amongst your own people, yet you have resources to fly first class and many honourables receiving fat cheques and still stealing from state coffers too. Despicable and a disgrace this government is!!
I… couldn’t finish watching. I’m heartbroken. Just heartbroken.
I’m not even South African… but l have heard this same story in my own country. 💔💔💔
I was heartbroken watching this programme. How can we help knowing that what we might contribute will go directly to these starving families.
Crazy how local government has failed small communities like this.
Not crazy at all. After all this years under ANC rule, we know that they have zero empathy, zero conscience, zero humanity. It's about the self with this lot. Notice how they dress? What they drive? How they live? The size of them?
Under the cANCer of South Africa thousands upon thousands have lost their lives, dignity and dreams but change will come. It always does but unfortunately enough people first need to suffer to will that change.@@ravenblack7052
It's not a local government mandate you are looking at a national and Provincial government failures
Don't just GIVE food, teach the people to grow their own food! Give them seed, water, fertilizer. If you give them a food parcel they eat for a month, if you teach them to grow their own, you feed them for the rest of their lives!
This is sooo painful to watch
the bible teaches us that
It’s so easy to speak neh? You judgmental entitled human being
Give them food and teach them how to make their own. Realistically it will take weeks and months for crops to be ready for harvest
May Allah'talah bless gift of the givers sponsors and volunteers, and everyone who assisted
This was such a heartbreaking episode to watch
To our politicians sitting and eating like fat cats, open your eyes and feed our children, feed our people, feed our country!
And with this problem which is not new, they've introduced new laws for the agri industry forcing farmers to take on BEE partners. Pretty soon, the entire country will be facing starvation.
These racist policies only help the connected cadres. It cannot be that we ended one racist government to be replaced by another! It's high time that we started fighting back with civil disobedience.
Lol they lied about apartheid
Unfortunately you asking the impossible where you go politicians are career criminals. They all about how much can they steal from national coffers and proclaim that they serving you
@@ravenblack7052change goverment and stop the fat cats stealing our economy and our future. Lawlessness will help nobody. The only way is to vote them out. This is truly sad to see chidren suffering because of a useless goverment. My heart breaks seeing this happening and seeing the goverment just increasing their pay and stealing more and more and some people still vote for them. Truly a sad day in SA.
@@GranvilleRoedolphOnly you believe that
This is heartbreaking, and unacceptable. I can't believe this. Where is all the money going for our social programs????ANC you are a disgrace, our people are dying and you eat and eat.
As for the Gov, they have really caused irreparable harm to South Africans and more so in the Eastern Cape
I have nothing to add or say
thank you Carte Blanche thank you
This is heart breaking! We need more people out teaching these people how to grow their own food, saving seeds and being self sufficient. The government has made it blatantly clear, they do not care about these people.
I feel for those who haven't heard them
So called ANC strongholds are also the hardest hit in terms of underdeveloped underserved in everything
Is there not a farmer that can give her a few chickens and help her to build a chicken coop. Maybe somebody can teach her to grow veggies. At least then she can provide for her family. If she are able to grow fresh food, I will help her health as well!
The tragedy is that they keep voting for the ANC and supporting a government which has failed them.
I'm watching and crying. Incompetence of authorities in South Africa is just beyond belief. People dying of hunger 😪 😢 😔. Shame
Eastern Cape needs a lot of attention, Food shortage, skills shortage, economic decline, and stagnant governance are some of the things that need resolving in the province and unfortunately, all the skilled and brilliant minds of EC end up being exported to other provinces where there are better opportunities. The other issue is crime.
Yet they in EC R the biggest ANC supporters u get what U vote for
😢😢😢... My heart... These poor people!!! Thank you gift of the givers!!!!
How is this still happening.. This is so cruel and heartbreaking 😢😢
This is heartbreaking 💔. It’s not just heartbreaking, it’s inhumane
We need to teach people to farm for themselves and focus on community uplifting.
This is absolutely heartbreaking 😢😢
And yet millions of people will again vote for the same people that does this to them
They get selected and not elected. If voting worked it would have been ilegal.
i Won't lie. I watched this in tears. Count your blessings to those who have even have 2 meals a day. It is time to change our government comrades.
This is so heartbreaking 💔. Our government is literally killing the people😭😭.
They Are terrorist what did you expect
I really thank you so much for those people who stand up to discover such stories, and thanks to give of the givers for responding quickly whereby our government officials give an excuse for no money.
The poverty is at rife however people as hungry as they are, they do not stop giving birth to more children which is so unnecessary. Are they giving birth for government. i think the poverty is more in the brain than life. This might sound insincere however i feel we put ourselves to more problems.
Absolutely
OR Tambo district. The man was a genius. His statues are found in London , Kempton Park airport and one in Mbizana that was vandalized. Tambo did warn against the ANC in the future becoming irrelevant to the masses. If Carte Blanche would stop the selective turning off of comments for its stories, the national debate would be very advanced. Thanks for airing.
Thank you to Gift of the Givers!
Thank you Carte blanche for the expose.
How will the new NHI improve the rural communities' access to health care with the required medical assistance and consumables to save these lives.
Why is the rural communities always treated so badly!
This is devastating to see the kids aren't getting the help that is needed!
Not take take aways from the struggles of the people being interviewed but I just want to say I hope Govan is getting the appropriate Trauma Debriefing and emotional support after each episode to help him deal with what he witnesses on these reports.
To try and prevent psychological repurcussions and burnout....
Just a suggestion. Not implying anything.
You know, that's also something that struck me while I watched this episode. This is emotionally taxing. I hope all journalists get the help they need🙏🏽💕
Yes. Its true. One needs support for the trauma....
@andilemajiki2203 Wow Andile, Thank you, you just wrote what many of us thought of when Govan held his head in his hands I broke down some more, this was hard, raw journalism, He will def need some Therapy afterward
@@debbieangel9376 honestly, it can't be healthy. Especially if it's repeatedly. Over time it can be affecting. I'm still being haunted by the images of the Special needs school.-He went there twice.

Please get that money to the gift of the givers as they are the only people that will make a difference in SA.
True they are really doing a great job & they do not discriminate. They help everyone.
Have we as people forgotten we are capable of fedding ourselves. When did community's stop growing their own food. Explain why this government isnt helping people to support themselves!
but this province votes ANC every election and suffer the innocent children thanks to gift of the givers again.

😢Govan you're a real one!
Thank you for covering this. Please do a follow up episode on the report to EC government by HRC. In the mean time… please let us know how we can donate whatever we have to these families.
Sad part is that the very same mothers will be voting the ANC. Cry our beloved Country
Thank you for posting on relatively accessible sites, having always valued your news I was rather disappointed with having to forego DSTV. Seeing that wome's smile at the end of this video was both heartening and tragic
This is sad , how is the soil in the area , watching I saw a lot of land , it got me thinking about food gardens , helping these mothers teaching them how to plant and grow vegetables , or having community gardens that help feed
Providing seeds , is there water skills , empowering them to supplement their grants and the food parecels
How about adding seed packets per care package? Then they can plant their own food. Add a 'how to plant' pamphlet. Teach the nation how to sustain themselves aswell.
Charities are part of the problem there needs to be more self sustainability programs which educate them and give them the tools and resources neasesary
Wow my heart just dropped to know that so many lives have already been lost to hunger. 😢
Your documentaries never disappoint thank you so much....sadly, unimaginable poverty in the land of plenty
This is heartbreaking 💔..the world cannot turn a blind eye to this !
Broke my heart. Thanks for getting these stories out there.
10:10 The irony of having someone with a tummy that big being responsible for helping people with malnutrition 🤔
And the people of this nation will carry on voting for their glorious ANC..
Devastating and heartbreaking 💔
Thank you for brining this to light.
"We can't wait nd argue on what government does and does not do, the reality is people are dying" 😢😢 black child wake up
I'm in tears. This is really sad.
This is one of the most heartbreaking things I’ve ever watched.
WHERE IS THE ANC AND EFF NOW?????!!
Terrible government
Gift of the givers ❤
Honestly this BROKE me and has to be the worst, saddest and infuriating story I watched for 2023 😭
This broke my heart, sad that our government lets this happen. Gift of the givers are awesome, I will definitely donate to them.
"when the ANC does to you what the apartheid government did to you, you must do to them what you did to the apartheid government" - Nelson Mandela
Starving with all that green land, no single vegetable garden? no chickens in the yard? no ducks? aw ngeke this is just weird now.....
It must be hard being the Government of South Africa, leading people who are sitting on their areses and expecting political miracles all the time...
100%True
It's sad that government officials are round and shiny but the people is dying of hunger. 😢
The child support grant encouraged more litter. No one bears children for someone else to look after.
Govan....Derrick lives strong within you my brother. You have found your home..
Not easy, but it help. It's better than nothing.😢
Need fence to keep livestock out
Thank you,for you help,it really shows that a little does go a long way.
These are communal lands if local gvt could drill solar powered boreholes and teach communities to grow their food, it could go a long way to curb food shortage becz food charity isn't sustainable
This litterally made me cry
This is unacceptable, now you know why the people in government is so nice round, they are eating these childrens food.
"There's no money..." this ANC memeber should be audited immediately and we'll see why there's no money.
"After sending back 37million"
I am in tears.
