Exactly what I was thinking, the Marvin Mobuto play through lol
The alternate timeline where Chief died on Reach and Sergeant Marvin Mobuto made it through the Library.
Now we need to see him deal with the Prophet of Regret.
It'd be cool to play as a different character in each mission. Start the game as Linda, she ends up critically injured in the crash. Maybe the marine you play as in mission 2 is Chips Dubbo, the ODST in mission 3 is Buck, back to Dubbo for mission 4, back to a now recovered Linda for mission 5, Johnson for mission 6, Mobuto for mission 7. Mobuto is betrayed and killed by Spark in the next cutscene and you switch back to Linda for the rest of the game.

the hard drive porn plotline:
humans at some point sent a probes into space in 2040 with all of internet downloaded into it, other races found it and saw the porn, unable to find one another they waited for human rce to find them.
this whole war started bc the covenant was just stealing more porn from humans, the flood learned what porn is, and the sentinels were incels trying to eradicate porn and tell the other races to go touch grass.
This marine learned their plans and decided to put a stop to them in order to save their culture for future generations.
and that's how i finished the ard drive porn plotline x3
I was thinking about tweaking the damage values of weapons in Sapien for a more "lore accurate" feel (1 AR burt being able to strip shields, plasma bolts one-shotting marines...). It's good to see what sort of experience awaits me

But not enough people ask for GAMEPLAY-ACCURATE BOOKS. We need both.
This would be something I’d fund. But the gameplay loop would be ruined. The only thing I could think of is if you made the covenant weapons shoot super slow and get overheated with 1 or 3 shots since it’s literally plasma which is incredibly hot. Idk but I feel the tech for that would need more than air cooling.
the problem is you would need a faster movement, stealth, and a cover system or it would just be frustrating.

honestly, a halo game where you play as a simple marine rather than a advanced cyborgman is a great idea, specially if they go for the battles where marines played a good part and master cheif wasnt involved
You should play out halo 3 ODST. It’s exactly what you’re looking for and it’s a pretty different experience since you are a lot weaker than chief
@@anthoniemccay gameplay mechanically nothing changes in odst. you still have shields (stamina), you still have an enormous health pool if your shields pop, and med kits still instantly fix you up.
the only difference in odst is slightly weaker melee (you can still effectively crush a grunts skull with your bare hands, which in no way shouldn't be possible, grunts should tear you aoart in melee combat), and you cant carry turrets. you can still jump 2+ meters in one go just like any other halo. in odst you're just a spartan in an oddt skin
@@MrMegaMetroid Man, Halo 3 ODST is called *Halo 3* ODST for a good reason. Also, Bungie was one of the good developers who knew that nothing matters more then the game being fun to play. That and ODST was just a filler will they where makeing Halo Reach.

@@MrMegaMetroid Ok, first and foremost. "The games name has nothing to do with its game mechanics" ... Yes, yes it does. Titels are very importend at telling what to expect. Thats why Halo 1 2 3 have just numbers, they are an Development/Evolution/Continiouation, not just in mechanics but in general.
Halo Reach and Halo Wars where deriverting branches with there own style/direction/etc. and Halo 3: ODST was an game based on Halo 3. Heck, ODST came even with a second CD back then, that was Halo 3 Multiplayer only.
Second, you where taking a rant, out of nowhere about ODST being "Not Lore Accurate" or "Realistic" or something. Which i answered, good developers put such things second to gameplay, what Bungie did, aswell as because they intended to base ODST on Halo 3, to keep development time and other ressources down. As they where in full production of Halo Reach, there planned last big Halo title.
So, TL;DR, you´re whole comment about ODST is tone deaf. Thats what i wanted to tell you.

just tried it today myself, me and my sister were stuck on legendary in there for 2 hours until I realized the plasma pistol is insane for it given you can actually aim it, made cutting them down really easy and otherwise just gotta keep running until shooting is viable. Plasma grenades when the door gets hit once also times it perfectly for the doors to burst and one of them to get stuck, blows up like half of them in the room. That room was a goddamned nightmare, and you don't even get a checkpoint until you clear the room right afterwards

Does being a Marine in Halo 2 let you survive multiple Jackal Sniper shots on Legendary? Could be easier than playing as Chief if it works like the NPC marines.

I know this may sound stupid or over-sentimental, but I genuinely love this. Your style and humor remind me terribly of Paul from Mitten Squad, and I mean that as a wonderful compliment. I watched him religiously, and I dearly miss him. I dont think anything will ever replace the spot in my heart that I feel for Mitten Squad. That being said, you feel a bit like a spiritual successor of that style to me but with a unique twist, and I truly loved every minute of it. Im not sure if you’ll ever see this, but from the bottom of my heart, thank you.

To be honest, I would love to see a marine centric show or game. The Marines have so much character and detail, its a shame no one had expanded on them.

Now we just gotta beat halo 2 as a marine, for arbiter missions id probably wanna be a jackal because they can use rifles though they cant use rockets which could be problematic for some fights

There are in fact points in this game where the Flood do spawn indefinably. Those pools of water where the Carrier forms are in Mission 9, are an example. They spawn carriers until you leave.
One of the greatest virtues of teamwork is it gives the enemy someone else to shoot at. No Marine should fight alone, but alongside his brothers.
Also, the sheer amount of reverence in your voice when you saw the shotgun sent me. XD
Fun little thing regarding why the Grunts get fuel rod guns: Because the Grunt Rebellion was an honest-to-the-gods threat against the Covenant they earned the respect of the Elites. As a result the Elites only saw it fitting to give the Grunts access to their arsenal and their stocky, heavyset build made them ideal for heavier weapons.
Since marines don’t run out of ammo, you should be allowed to use bandana

The use of rockets on silent cartographer against CE jackals was hilarious and is a legit strat, I take the rockets as well just to clear those yellow jackals on legendary they literally melt the chief in less than a second I can only imagine being a marine.

I just thought of a way to play with a Covenant squad. Like some BO2 missions, you can switch between units. Plasma bomb an objective (like a power generator) with grunts, lead the squad with an elite, switch to the jackal high up on the rocks, etc. Not that'll be some good action.

On 343 guilty spark, you could have lured most of the infection forms towards the room with the second elevator. This would have the room much easier to clear and make the first batch of marines more likely to survive the combat forms, but also don't go past the narrow doorway, which would trigger the combat and marines to spawn.
I’m so happy to know I’m not the only one to have strong heterosexual relationship with my marines while I play halo ce. Good job you mad lad, no amount of therapy will ever help you come to terms at wasting so many hours on this challenge.

I can distinctly remember the first time I got a mod to work on Halo CE over two decades ago. It was pretty mundane, but I managed to load into Gephyrophobia and play as a Jackal from 3rd person. It was rad as hell for 12-year-old me.

The flood "unsc training aint shi.." this mfer be crazy
For a long time I have fantasized about a Halo game that allows you to play as anyone - kinda like battlefield, but instead of classes, you got covenant species and humans with differing levels of equipment. Basic idea would be big battles with point based loadout system, where you could, for example, play as someone weaker like a grunt but be able to use points on other options, such as AI companions, vehicles etc, or go one man army with fully loaded elite.

when you said the library was the level you were most worried about... my first thought was ".... you think two betrayals or keys are gonna be easy...?"
This challenge is probably the hardest on CE simply because of the stun animation after taking damage, And how weak marine health is, I expect it would be so much easier on any other halo than CE, anyways nice run, Funny too, i subbed.

The flood in the corridor at 41:00 actually has infinite spawning until you pass/touch the door at the end of the hallway!
I thought that they had endless spawning there, as i was there for some time
Really cool run dude. Does make me wish that Halo just had stuff like this but made to be balanced around. Like imagine if they just added straight third person first person toggle through a button just like with the visual hot swap button, and made Marine stagger based on thresholds of health loss rather then every hit. Not to mention, kinda wish the Marine dodge was a button you could push to quickly drop the infection forms on you so if you're quick enough it's a way to both pop them and survive "being bit". I kinda just like the idea of a Halo third person shooter that doesn't need cover mechanics to work, just a crouch button some functionally sized cover and player skill.

Now we just need someone to get the Chief's animations to work with the marine models... and/or possibly just have you be the marine the entire way through if possible :p
