Lagos is in Portugal, so the guy who said Lagos was in Europe was technically right. Lagos, NG was named by the Portuguese.

I wasn't expecting people to know where Nigeria is let alone where Nigeria is. Only countries they teach us in school are of the white man's land and South Africa if at that. And I mean. the last time I was taught something about Africa was like 9 years ago

I like Batta Box but not this edition. She went to the wrong areas to hear the answers she was looking for.. The female hosts on the Lagos version have better presence and appear more experienced. In defense of New Yorkers , people from every country live here. From all those countries there are many religions , races and customs. So a New Yorker may not know Lagos but be informed about so many other places just through association. Most here know Nigeria before any other African country.

I've read some of the comments and I think people are misinterpreting when the woman says "I don't speak the language they speak." People are taking this comment too literally when she could have meant it figuratively. Even if she meant it literally she would probably think she was listening to a foreign language when she heard people speaking pidgin in Nigeria. Besides, most Nigerians are going to speak their tribal language like Yoruba, Ibo and Hausa among each other. There were two Nigerian women who worked in the office where I work and they always spoke Ibo when they were together.

Some do suffer there and that is a prime fact. Been there, know many people there and about to marry a Nigerian man. Some do have it very hard and jobs are scarce and pay is a mess. Not to mention the electricity problems, corruption and so on. However, most people handle being poor way better than some people here in the USA. Always smiling and being positive about the next day. Lagos and surrounding states have many beautiful places, nice people, and good experiences. Going back to visit in a few. Also, some people are easier to understand than others. However, Pigeon is used often and is easy for me to understand and use somewhat. lol!
