Meet the all-new Aston Martin Vantage!
The Vantage is essentially Britain’s answer to the Porsche 911 Turbo S. The question is, does this all-new sports car have what it takes to go toe-to-toe with the class leader?
Well for starters, let’s take a closer look at the design. Up top the front end has been redesigned, and you’ll find a carbon fibre splitter down below, along with vents on the bonnet to help release air that comes in through the trademark Aston Martin grille. There are all-new matrix LED headlights, and all the vents you see serve a purpose. Around the back, there’s a large light bar along with a ducktail spoiler, and across the side, there are some extended side skirts. All-in-all, it looks fantastic!
Step inside and the interior set-up is very similar to recent Aston Martin releases like the DB12. The centre console comes covered in a multitude of buttons and rollers, and they’re all built to a high standard! Aston Martin now also has its own infotainment system, although if we’re being honest, it’s not exactly the best. Thankfully though that’s the only real negative of the interior. The cabin is built to a high standard using soft touch, and nice-quality materials throughout, and as you’d expect, the seats are super comfortable.
Then we get to the power source - the glorious 4-litre twin-turbo V8! It may be the same AMG unit as found in the previous car, but Aston Martin has been allowed to go to work with it for this new release. As a result, it comes with bigger turbos, and now produces 665hp and 800Nm! That’s 150hp more than the previous Vantage!
Naturally, all of this quality comes at a cost, with the new Vantage starting from £165,000. So is it worth it? You’ll need to stick with Mat and see for yourself!

Quite a powerful car
Please do a review on the new AMG GT.
Me too.
I also liked the previous generation it was quite sleek.
This one looks like 2006-2007 DBS
OMG!
Matt’s ocd gonna peak to the roof now ‘cause of his socks 😂😂😂
On behalf of the ppl who are still waiting for a running race between Matt and Yianni, we wish this video success.
Bruh 😅
Matt would smoke yianni. He’s from the midlands he’s used too running 😂
Yanni would BLOW his Ankle on the 1/4 mile 💨 💥 😅
Yeah, I vote for a boxing match instead. Or, why not make it completely unfair, now we are at it: An MMA fight between Sam, Yianni and Mat! The winners takes all the cars!
Not necessary, unless you're filthy rich we all know that, that kind of an audience likes pointless things.
Personally, I think Aston have been killing it with their design lately.
They've been killing with the design for quite some time
Same with DB12 in my opinion. I do like the DB11, but not the DB12. But who knows, maybe they make the next Vanquish better.
Looking good is what kept Aston Martin in business for the past decade. Not performance or good handling
That's a big lie
Compare this car design to the big bmw big grill
@@notagain2856 Exactly that. Aston’s are essentially drivable pieces of art
honestly even with that soft limiter it still sounds pretty good while stationary
Do "pretty good" cut it for an absolute premium posers super car though? You could buy an American V8 instead, actually save a good lump of money in most cases, and thanks to EU regulations, they will sound like a V8, no V8 build in Europe do anymore!
@@1corinthians15.1-4kjvno one buys a aston Martin only because they want a v8 so no, you cant just buy an american v8 instead.
I’ve been invited to a private premier of this car in Geneva and someone start the car, and it was so quiet. I wish it will be better when I will test drive it but I’m pretty sure I will cancel my car…
@@1corinthians15.1-4kjv American cars still have to comply with european regulations, so unless we buy them in America and ship them (which is a lot more expensive) we will still have a soft limiter and less noise.
@@genotsSnoreven some Japanese cars too, like Skyline 1971 for example.
I love the styling nods to the One-77
One-77 reminded me a lot to NFS THE RUN, a 13 year old game.
It looks to me that the front end is inspired by newest Ford GT
I agree the sides look soooo One-77 I love it
I always felt like the vantage never got the recognition it deserved it just sounds and looks so good.
Probably because it is a lesser version of the amg gt
I thought it was called the vanquish
@@ben079329more like a supercar-ish c63s. They shared the exact same power plant (different gearbox i think)
The previous generation Vantage (2005 - 2018) was acknowledged as the best handling model and best selling lineup for Aston Martin.
@@ben079329*much better
I Remember seeing a V12 Vantage in New Castle, and Man, Chef’s Kiss!
It also costed cheaper than 2006 Viper GTS SRT10 Coupe.
Can we just quickly discuss the fact you are wearing odd socks 🤣
Sockwow
This is exactly what they said in the end of the video
😂😂
@@Snaap525the front of Aston Martin Vantage 2024 almost mirroring 2000 Tickford Falcon XR8.
🤣🤣🤣 this has to be deliberate
The reason why the exterior exhausts almost never connect with the actual exhaust system is... If you get an ever-so-slight bump by another car from the rear, the problem is that it will then push the exhaust system into the car. Wrecking the entire car all the way into the engine. Which is a massive, huge repair bill rather than just replacing the rear panel.
Most exhaust systems are shaped in a manner that they will crumple and break at the clamps for this reason though...😅
I've never heard so much bollocks in my life 😂
Almost had me there, lol

How?, what? there is no trick here.
AM did an amazing job with the dashboard. Didnt go overboard with the screens, one for the drivers display is fine, and a small one that doesnt dominate the dashboard seems great. And FINALLY, BUTTONS
This new vantage reminds me of the one 77 in looks I hope this cars successful because it looks fantastic
It also has equally iconic sound.
This Vantage is an amazing piece of machinery off its performance in the FFAS
FFAS? What is that?
Matt uploaded the video 1 hour after the top gear channel and managed to get more than double the amount of views
It's not a surprise, since BBC had the monumentally moronic idea to fire Jeremy Clarkson. Top Gear stopped existing after that and after James May and Hammond left.
Stalker
plus hour after AutoTrader and they currently have 10k views, with this being 86k views
Yeh he just shot the whole thing in one on his phone and uploaded it himself on the side of the road... that's def how it works.
@@lorandmatyasfiring Jeremy Clarkson in late 2010s proven to be very costly for Top Gear.
In the era of sharp cuts and creases I love how Aston Martin is working with the curves
Might be one of the best looking cars of the past few years if not the best.
Agreed that color is stunning and I love this new design.
It's definitely not, it Is nice but definitely isn't the best
@@JakeTyler9 That's why they said "one of the best". Did we read the same post?
@@IamJay02 u also said if not the best kid
@@JakeTyler9 Notice the quotation marks. I can't even believe I'm in this argument with a fuckin idiot.
Sure looks a lot better, especially the interior. I had the V8 Vantage from 2006. Still one of the best designs ever.
Funny how some of the Mercedes parts on that Aston feel "cheap".
It is so great to see my favorite car company keeping the little Vantage. I really hope they don't forget about the V12 on the tiniest Aston.
That is some really old Mercedes switchgear
When doing the car sound check, if you rev the car in Neutral instead of Park, that should remove the soft limiter.
Can I just say, the TC setting being 1 is the most of TC and 8 is the least is a bit backwards.
Yeah. Also, going all the way up to “off” 🤷🏽♂️ I thought I was the only one puzzled by this.
@@SoftCampingSouthAfrica yes, that too! I was confused, too! 🤦♂
Yep. It is basically the driveline out of the old AMG GTR all the way down to that TC system.
Their 0-60 times for that price are a joke
Does anyone else see carwow being the new UA-cam version of top gear
Drag races and car reviews which is still good
There's a few channels combined that really in sum make the old Top Gear experience. I want to mention DRIVETRIBE as well which has Richard Hammond involved and they deal with the "reasonably priced" segment of the market as well as going into more technical bits.
Nope, ThrottleHouse takes the cake on that one for sure. It's actually got multiple presenters, not just Matt being his picky, finnicky, tempermental self.
just wish carwow would include the mph along with the 1/4 mile time for its drag races
I think this is one of the best videos you have ever made. Only from the point of view that you seemed to be having a blast!
Love the fact that you drive in city too in your reviews !
Absolutely love the One-77 kind of styling, personally i really dig it.
Seems like One-77 got a total upgrade and overhaul on this car.
imo I feel the opposite. I loved the way the old one looked (I once saw one in the same orange as the one in this vid). The new one just looks weird to me. Not bad but not my cup of team
love the colour of this spec
As an owner of a 2020 Aston Vantage I think the interior is a massive step forward, but my car is already fast enough for rear wheel drive, I would rather have had a price around £135k and say 550hp, rather than £165k and 660hp, it’s not about 0-60 in this car, unless it’s 4 wheel drive it’s never ever going to beat a 911 in a standing start, but the midrange is already epic especially in the wet...great underrated car..
True. After a certain point a front engine red car can only handle so much power to weight ratio. More than a lower price I'd like to see lower weight. These cars should not weigh 2 tons
I love these cars except for the interiors. They seemed mismatched to me. This interior looks better to me.
Owner of a VH platform Vantage and driven the next gen Vantage plenty of times. What the new Vantage didn't need was more power. Even though the outgoing Vantage had a little over 500 bhp, it feels like much more (especially mid range) and it's an extremely fast car for our roads. This new one must feel epic.
Mat thank you very much you learnd me so much about cars❤
not learned, it's either "..you have taught me so much about cars", or "I have learned so much about cars from you" ❤
How can they still call the Vantage an entry into AM if it's now double the price of the original? This is getting ridiculous.
Loved the ending 🤣
Great job as always 👍🏿😊
Feel like the previous generation grille looked more up to date but so glad to see they’ve updated the interior
Man, that sounds so good on idle!
You lucky brad. Well done.
Weird, this is a direct competitor with the AMG GT Coupe.
Even have the same engine
It not a competitior cause it's a fake amg gt
@@amgc63s32 The problem is that it is a better car than an AMG GT: Better engine, better car feeling, etc
Great. But I think I would purchase this and 911 Turbo S. This one has a more of a fun weekend vibe.
Turbo S as your daily driver 😂
ASTON MARTIN NEVER GO WRONG WITH THE PERFORMANCE
This car is no faster than a f type r AWD from 2018. At 100hp down
The Vantage from 10 8 years ago got killed by a Cayman 0-60, and above ca 200 Km/h, would not pull if its life depended on it... all it had going for it was looks.
@@MA-ik7ys It's not all about straight line speed.
Lets be real. Astons are mostly for looks
@@MA-ik7ysit also slower than 1999 Viper GTS.
ohhh finally its new Vantage, thank u matt .❤❤
1:58 Michelin has changed the naming scheme, now it's the Pilot Sport S5...
Pilot Sport S5?
@@purwantiallan5089
Yes. MPSS5 and MPS5.
Your wrong about the old gen. It never looked right. This car looks perfect. It looks how an Aston should. Bold and Aggressive, yet Beautiful and Elegant
It looks SO MUCH BETTER than the 2019 model, especially in green with the bronze wheels. I'm honestly considering trading my Vanquish for one.
If indicators had a soundtrack : "Ticking away the moments that make up a dull day..."
Somebody likes a bit of Floyd 👍
Wow those One77 hips...

A guy in my local Porsche chapter has one of these in a gorgeous deep, deep shade of red called "Liquid Crimson" on the AM configurator. It's a lovely car and it sounds great too.

Great review Matt!
Never take Mats car reviews and literal
Damn, the design looks 🔥🔥🔥
This could be my new car or the 2024 Mercedes AMG GT 63 Coupe 🤔
Great video! I enjoy the silly but honest review. Matt and Jason Cammisa would be a great pairing.
The body is gorgeous, as usual for Aston Martin. Other manufacturers, including Ferrari, should take note of the interior and learn from it. No more cheap haptic plastic buttons or oversized cell phone screens.
Amazing car. Left hand drive on the public roads, right hand drive on track. How much is that option?
English No plate , left hand drive ??
@@jeanwood6392The majority of development cars are left hand drive because most of the mileage racked up will be using roads all over the world for obvious reasons , hot weather testing , freezing conditions and just about every variation you can think of and given that the majority of roads are the opposite to the UK they are made LHD .
Steven’s, didn’t realise it was a development car 😱😱 so that’s not the final car , possibly look different on full mass production , is that what you are implying ?
@@jeanwood6392 It’s the final car alright but still left hand drive for the same reasons I explained and for foreign journalists and test drivers alike it could even be a press car Jean . I myself bought a Porsche press test car which was UK Porsche’s own car and was right hand drive !

A beautiful car..
Love the interior refresh ❤❤
One of the best looking cars..
V8 goodness
I swear, Ashton martin has become a proper car manufacturer lately! I would have never thought of buying one because of its interior and basic exterior but since its re-update it has really uped the game
I wonder how it will perform against 911 turbo s on drag race
it'll get destroyed. Still a great car, but since they're focusing a lot of their current marketing on sporty driving and F1 influence, I feel they should improve their numbers a bit. In that section of the market its competitors are quicker.
be left for dead haha the turbo s gives hypercars a run for their money
In 20 years time we'll look back at gloss black inside cars the same way as we now look at woodchip wallpaper in houses.
Woodchip wallpaper?! Where on earth do you live?

glad they sorted out the interior
Who else was part of the OG carwow where we wished Matt's mom vs Yanni in a drag race ✋️💪
Thanks to Matt for the introduction of this beast, love it
Another big improvement - it looks like they've reduced/removed the tyre skip at low speeds which was a frustration having owned the current gen Vantage.
It could be resolved slightly by swapping the factory Pirelli's for Michelin's, but nothing taints arriving in an Aston Martin like making jarring jolts (on full lock) as you reverse into a parking space.
Hopefully the new model doesn't have the same problem!
I'm in love with the engine sound sooo wrooommmm
Absolutely beautiful car. I will have one. Problem is,I just bought an AMG GTS about 3 weeks ago. (Haven’t even made my first payment yet 😂) But the Vantage as an upgrade in a few years… oh yeah. Can definitely see it happening. I’m in love.
The front bumper is giving me a one:77 vibe but at the same time same as the gr86 except for the middle part grille
What Aston is doing this days I can say it’s a big come back with new DB12 and this car. Aston deserves 👏🏼👏🏼

I would like to see a drag race between this and and a hellcat...a gt500..a bmw M8..and a AMG GT actually
I think the Sub-stated 0-60 times is really a testament to how effective and needed all wheel drive is in modern cars to achieve the fastest acceleration.
