Hope you all enjoy this! After the DB12 last year, it feels like Aston is on a bit of a roll and I loved the exterior spec of this silver car (even the green brake calipers, which was a surprise). Familiar but in a good way. Thank you, as ever for watching, commenting, liking, subscribing, sharing and all that good stuff. It really does help us.
So damned happy to see your reviews here. I'm not sold on the green bits, but then...I don't have to worry about being able to afford such poor choices. Well done.
It looks absolutely gorgeous, like a baby One-77, I would definitely get this over a 911 Turbo, but idk why I'm speaking as if I'm not a broke ass college student
@@omerfarukcan4407Roma is considered a GT car so the rival of that would be the DB12. The Ferrari won’t depreciate like the Aston Martin and I think it’s also a nicer car. Certainly less fussy and more understated which astons used to be.
I read a comment many years ago under one of HCs videos which simply said “I could listen to this man describe a cheese sandwich “ still true to this day. Aston also amazing.
You can't deny they make a gorgeous car, and that interior looks better than many other current cars twice its price with manufacturers using haptic buttons and massive screens.
This has got to be the prettiest I’ve seen this car on UA-cam! Catchpole hit it out of the park yet again. Thank you Hagerty for enabling videos like this, and Camissa’s Piechisode to continue being produced. With Top Gear gone and Grand Tour going the way of the dodo soon, you’re our only hope.
Henry Catchpole- Superb Automotive Journalism. I wish his videos would come out a little more frequently than they presently do. His expressions and overall knowledge are a real treat to watch, as a car enthusiast.
@@HenryCatchpole thank you. at the end, would you say that the flaws of this Aston martin Vantage (as well as other aston martins), are making this car better than Porsches, Audis (which can be considered as boring, flawless) ?
Despite all the reviews that just dropped for this car, Henry’s will always be the first I go to. Yet another masterpiece of scripting, camerawork, and editing.
Have an early 4.3 and now drive a 2010 V12 manual. This new generation looks and sounds fabulous, body shape very influenced by the original 2006 V8. Love the arches, stance, interior... I love all the power of the 4.3 living at 7000 (7300 on mine now) makes it a strange experience from turbo engine fed drivers. Just brilliant, A great achievement!
Love my '19 Vantage and this video confirms the new, new Vantage is an improvement. I've driven mine on track and like he said, the Vantage is just...fun. Not hard-edged track monster like a GT3RS but definitely capable on-track. A great combination of speed, beauty, ability on-track and on the road, and cool Bond.
Henry you uniquely presented this car in a way others didn’t, showing it in a way that makes one want to buy one and head straight on a European tour with it. Aston should gift you this very car.
I actually love the fact there is no technical evolution like a hybrid engine, just old school V8 power. But there is a lot going on with this Vantage, it’s not just a facelift, it’s a new car. They fixed almost all the issues with the last generation…
Henry and Steve Sutcliffe both reviewing this beautiful car is a wonderful thing for me (you both have such soothing voices). The widescreen format enhances this particular video too. Lovely job (as always) Mr Catchpole
When I first saw that reviews for this car had been posted I went straight to you Henry - you didn’t disappoint- thank you. What stunning car and very well done Aston and of course Mr Stroll … 👏👏👏
Gorgeous looking vehicle , the interior is a major improvement to the last one. And that engine sound, typical grunty AMG but with the Aston Martin tweaks. A stunner !
@adrianharrison5208 they probably could. They made their own v12, but it would probably be a 4.0 v8 twin turbo anyway... don't forget these engines are forged from the factory and are capable of 1000hp on stock internals reliably, and you can do that relatively cheaply... where as the 4.4 from a m5 you'd struggle to make 750hp+ reliably and to go any further would be 50k plus to build the engine...
@adrianharrison5208 not necessarily... pagani uses AMG V12'S Noble uses the volvo v8 out of xc90... nothing wrong with it and like I said that amg 4.0 is capable of serious power... ferrari and aston are chalk and cheese... don't forget the 6.0 v12 was 2 ford v6s ... even with the valkeriye it was cosworth developed Ferrari is a much bigger company...

This review definitely Fingered my Gold. In other words, worth staying up at 2 in the morning to see it accidentally. Not surprised it's not a precision instrument but for something to cruise down the coast with some panache, looking mysterious set to a great soundtrack... this may as well be like Lazenby's DBS. I sure hope it's more memorable than that. Sounds like it delivers! I just wish it wasn't Turbo S priced. For how good it looks though and how much One77 I'm getting out of it too, what a thing.
Hagerty's videos and commentary is so beautiful. Almost like a 1950s British Pathè news reporter with a mixture of Sir David Attenborough. His video on the DB12 was absolutely glorious. This makes it doubly better. Nearly Clarksonian in describing a Aston. Bloody lovely this video is. ❤
This is an absolutely perfect looking car. Best looking Aston to date IMO. Better looking even than the DB12. If it came in a manual, I’d do just about anything to obtain one lol. The ONLY detractors are they don’t make their own engines, which would be pretty cool, and they don’t offer a manual. The go to competitor for this car is 100% the 911. And Porsche makes their own engines and offer trims in manual. I think I’d still pick the Vantage tho.
The car looks really nice, but the new front end is too "friendly-looking". I would've liked a more angry headlight. The AMG V8 seems to sound A LOT better here than it does in any Benz! Great review, as always! Henry rules! 😎
So the Vantage DB12 is now how the the DB11 version should have looked and nods to the DB10. Finally got the front lights right and the rar haunches too. Looks absolutely amazing and those roads also look both perfectly made and perfect for driving fun.
With THIS Aston you get the great looking front, no ugly spear/vent on the quarter panel and that STUNNING rear end...now if I could only line up the 6 numbers🤷♂️
It’s way better looking than the last gen for sure along with the Aston Prestige. The front headlights and hood V crease is giving me Alfa 8C vibes albeit more refined.
From front on yeah, it looks like an MC-20 from the side. I don't like the way the headlights drop down and you see the bonnet between them (again from the side view)
The design is soooo much better than the previous model, still not sure about the rear end though, the first gen V12 was gorgeous at the rear, with that lovely descrete spoiler.
Yet another great review...and gee, Aston Martin is on a roll, the new DB12 interior makes a world of difference to both cars and finally the Vantage looks like an Aston again...and not a blown up MX5/Miata. Think they also made the right choice not focusing on its track performance but more on the playful and sporty GT side of things. That sets it apart from Porsche and others. I d say it s the Charlene Wittstock/ of Monaco of cars, very athletic but unlike the superstars in sports: simply looks great and graceful no matter the circumstances... like an Aston should be.
Does it look like a very beefed up GR86 from the front? Looks gorgeous, thanks to the design professionals, but for me, it goes a lot towards the front of the GR86. Great video!!!
Great looking car. I get a little GR86 from the front end. I think it's mostly the winglet inlets next to the grill that are doing that. Always enjoy a Catchpole video!

This front is 1000 times more beautiful than the previous version!
yep those Kuwaiti can certainly make a nice looking car.
agreed
They cleaned up the tail pipes too by fattening them up, the previous had those strange skinny pipes.
That grille is just too large for me, the perfect size was on the original V12 Vanquish IMO
