WOW--I've never heard this song before. I've been missing out. I am aware of Sam Kim singer/musician/songwriter. I really admire him and his music---tho I've been away. I can tell you he is from a Korean family from Seattle, WA. and now living in Korea under Antenna agency. His song Seattle is breathtakingly beautiful and I really liked his album Sun & Moon. I bet you would too. Thanks again for this reaction. And for reintroducing me to Sam Kim. He's like an old friend I need to see and hear again.
Sam Kim is one of the solo artists on the fringe of the Kpop industry that makes great music and never really gets the publicity that he deserves. There's a lot of them. He's more with the Korean R&B crowd than standard Kpop. The Korean R&B crowd is full of artists who write, compose and produce their own music. It's a broad definition of R&B, covering everything from hip hop to more indie sounding music. This is the kind of music a lot of ex-idols end up making when their idol days are over.
oh, R&B? I was thinking that his music would be similar to this? I guess I should check it out though, that does make sense though, its like the joke that when emo kids grow up they grow up and play sad cowboy music haha!
@@Killdeer25 Like I said, it's kind of a broad definition of R&B. Artists like Sam Kim do a wide range of music, but R&B is sort of at the centre of what they do.
Ha! Totally relate to the Mumford and Sons phase. My whole life I've preferred very synth-y, electronic, manufactured music that takes me out of reality and into imaginary worlds in my mind. But every once in awhile, I feel the need for music that is very grounded in reality with real instruments and human voices singing in harmony. This totally scratched that itch. Wouldn't mind seeing some more of Sam Kim. I know him mostly from OSTs because I have more than once paused a drama because the voice singing is so nice and looked it up to find that it is him. And speaking of dramas, this is an actual abandoned building they are filming in, I have seen several scenes from dramas take place here (popular bad guy hangout 😆), as well as a few other music videos.
I kinda wonder if its an age thing, because I just remember thinking that all I needed to do was get mad and listen to scary music and let it all out, now emotions are so complex and you get older. I guess things are bound to happen. oh! OSTs are always kinda big hits aren't they? I never heard of him before this, but I like his style!
@@Killdeer25 OSTs are kind of hit or miss for me, they can be overly sentimental even for a romance drama. But there are some magical ones. The first one that ever caught my attention was Baekhyun but it was way before I ever checked out kpop. I just remember thinking what a great voice but was not compelled to look it up. It was a few months after I discovered EXO that I decided to rewatch the drama and suddenly realized it was Baekhyun! It's a pretty small world between kdramas and kpop though because so many idols are actors too.
@@Killdeer25 Yeah that one is legendary. That drama, Goblin, is one of the highest rated of all time. Chen is the OST king of EXO though. He has a very famous OST from one of the other highest rated dramas Decedents of the Sun. And EXO members tend to sing on each other's dramas too. Lots of EXO OSTs.
I like the angle of the lyrics. It talks about people trying to challenge a sky high target. They could hear the progress of each other and get encouraged. But I feel it has some potential to go deeper. Thus I am not fully satisfied.
Honestly not a fav but again nothing wrong just not the song for me. However I do believe I shouted out out Sam Kim before ages, ages ago (along with Dean) way back in your Big Bang era. (although I do hate mentioning other artists under a video when you are watching someone else) but now you have Sam Kim here, he is fab. "Make Up" and "No sense" both featuring Crush are brill. Very RnB. Not the song for me but Sam and Suhyun's voices are lovely together but you will find this lass can sing with anyone!!!
its possible, sometimes my memory fails me, especially that far back, although I do have some plans for revisiting BB as well, but yeah I definitely should have gotten to him earlier! oh that feature was the first time I had ever heard of Crush

I feel like Sam Kim might be someone right up my alley, especially if all his songs are like this!
My favorite song on this album is Tictoc Tictoc Tictoc. The bassline was so good and the MV is quite artsy
they are always kind of on the edge of that aren't they?

Oh, I love this album!
it sounds like its a great album!
@@Killdeer25 have you reacted to 'Nakka'? It features IU! I even learned the lyrics of the chorus because it sounds so fun, and I wanted to sing along
I think you did it as part of your reaction to IU's Palette. It's a nice opportunity for me to watch that episode of Palette again
I had done the MV during the OWC and again on Pallette

oh woops! I thought I did!
I listened to this song long ago and greatly liked it but couldn't go back because the darned mv triggers my agoraphobia.
I get that, it's a great song

I actually think AKMU would probably agree as well, I think that is the mark of an artist, never satisfied
