This is not only my favourite AKMU song but it’s one of my favourite songs of all time in any genre. I have spent hours with this song on loop, in any mood, at work, in the car, at home. And I have it in several playlists. It’s brilliant. 💖
Look up the album cover for Harry Stiles 'Harry's House' which came out some 6 months after this, I think. The cover art looks like a still from this mv.
Funny fact: since AKMU are siblings, they often bicker like siblings would. There are plenty of stories and moments on camera of them getting annoyed with eachother. There was even a "controversy" a few years ago where Chanhyuk unfollowed Suhyun on instagram. Anyways, during this collab IU jokingly complained about always having to play mediator in their siblings fights lol. AKMU was on IU's Pallete if you ever wanted to watch it.
Years ago IU, at her concert, had handed out vouchers to her celebrity guests for 'one collab song' as a joke gift. Chanhyuk was the only person to redeem that voucher for one collab song.
I love this song! The album this is from (Next Episode) is one of the favourite albums in all of K-Pop. Fun fact: Chanhyuk composed one of the tracks from IU's Lilac album "Ah puh". They're actually long-time friends within the industry-- I believe IU guested in both their first concert and their most recent one (celebrating their 10-year anniversary). AKMU were also in an episode of IU's Palette (my personal favourite).
Suhyun is lucky because her brother understands exactly how to make the best use of her voice. My test for a song is if I like it without the visuals. I often listen to the audio of songs first before I watch the music video. If I like the song based on the audio alone, then I know I genuinely like it and am not just distracted by amazing visuals and/or choreography.
yes! visuals can effect the feeling of a song, I have had this happen on this channel, just the video was so cool, then I go onto Spotify and wonder why I don't like it as much, it was the video

I totally understand, this might have been the most requested song for OWC, and it all makes sense TBH, this goes hard!
The whole Next Episode collaboration album is actually so great. One of my favourite EPs of all time not only in kpop but overall
I need to go through the whole thing
Thanks for the great review. Harmonizing is amazing and the beat is unique and catchy, you can loop it for quite a while before moving on.
thank you! I agree, it really is a very complex song, its so nice!
Will you be reacting to [IU's Palette] Close your eyes and NAKKA (With IKMU) Ep.9?
now that I know there is an episode of IU's pallet with AKMU I will probably just do the whole episode lol

ohhh I would love to see them both live, what a cool friendship, I guess it makes sense that they have some stylistic similarities
