That’s the prove you can’t judge an album since the first listen, especially if we’re talking of Abel. First listen it was a 7/10, after 1 day, personally it’s already a 9.5/10, I LOVE IT. Edit A DON T WANNA SACRIFAAAISSSSSS
I think the cool with Abel is that he takes risks with his music. He’s not afraid to try out new sounds. I think society has been accustomed to have an artist sound the same in each album that they put out. The Weeknd is changing the status quo of what a NEW album should sound like.

This MV shows the industry is taking his youthful essence, his sound, and leaving him damaged and aged. They chain him to the microphone stand to perform at command. His sound is represented by the colours when he is singing chorus. The energy is transferred. The industry (red lady) is revitalised by the new sound but it leaves The Weeknd spent. I imagine the next MV we will see the old man Weeknd.
I really appreciate the story the weeknd portrayed in this album. In after hours, it was about him dealing with a bad break . So he had a night out. Of drinking women and drugs. To erase the pain. But then this album is the next morning. And at dawn he ODs and dies. And he's stuck in purgatory because he can't accept his faith. He has so much regret. And Jim Carey is the radio host . He is his guiding angel. Helping through the process . Helping him accept his faith .
I'm a big Weeknd fan and when the album dropped yesterday and people saying it was trash or mid, I wanted to give it a few more listens to see if I'm biased or not and my feelings still haven't changed about the album. I love the production and the vocals were great. Been watching you for a couple of months and you're one of my favorites. Keep it up🔥
The way I see it good art 🖼 is supposed to cause that response. Nothing wrong with people not liking the music but personally I think his production is always top notch and worth a listen based off that alone.
I was the opposite. I’m a huge fan, but I didn’t like it too much first listen. I could appreciate the great tracks, but there were a lot of tracks that didn’t connect with me at all. Now, I like every single track (whether it be a little or a lot) and it’s just such a creative, cohesive, awesome experience. I still think the pacing dies a bit after Every Angel Is Terrifying, but just like with CMIYGL, it doesn’t affect the album experience much
I already listened to the album twice in its entirety and also gave a few more listens to specific tracks. It’s so rare these days to see an album be a complete story that makes sense and not just 15 tracks one after another (idk if you guys understand what I’m trying to say, sorry). But anyway, great album still, lots of great songs in there, very awesome way to kick off music in 2022
yoo the flashing trippy colors on the choruses are so dope. abel literally never disappoints im so excited to see where he takes the next music videos. XOTWOD
I’m sure they will, I’m pretty sure Abel is trying to move into the film industry and he’s showed that he really wants to top After Hours. Musically he didn’t top it, but with the artistry, it’s absolutely looking like he might
When I first heard The Weekend I thought oh okay it's a song about drugs, wow so deep . Listening to Abels music now, especially Another Day, I've come to appreciate his work so much more, there's effort in it and you can feel it
What Abel did with this album’s concept is crazy and most people won’t even get it until a lot further in the future and most still won’t even be able to understand with this album’s concept. I’ve been listening to it since it dropped and I’m still finding more and more stuff to unpack just from the songs themselves and he’s only released one music vid so far so you already know the concept’s going to unfold even more
I think his character here blindly gets abducted by them and he believed that he would get everything, like staying young forever and getting everything he wanted instead in the end he gets tricked losing his soul and his young looks are taken away. There's still more to the story. Gonna be a big one I guess.
Think the multiple colours in the chorus is a nod to Elton John, who had a song called Sacrifice & had a similar look in Are you ready for Love. Also, this song, like the album is outstanding. The goat has done it again 🔥
Rewatching this & it’s Soooo funny at 3:50 you mention the colors and say some purple creeping in there & he were are 2 years later and new album era is purple! Weeknd always teasing us 😅
I feel like you really need to listen to "Dreamland" from ZHU... It's like this dark and mysterious R&B/House album with features from Kota the friend, tinashe, Yuna, Bob Moses, ....
I predict we get the Tyler feat as the next single in a few months to hype the deluxe and when the tour comes, we get I love you when you're angry that finishes the main dawn vids
Doubt he'll do one or he likely would have dropped it prior! Plus his AH short film didn't get fantastic numbers... this is why more XO need to flock to his projects!
this album just gets better and better each listen. 🌅
Thats exactly how this work is to be enjoyed.
I was disappointed at first listen actually then it literally grew on me, love it!
It plays perfectly, really feels like a radio station playing great tune after tune. Love it

Classic Abel 🖤🥂

He's not changing anything, that is just what true artists do. Kendrick, Frank Ocean, Tyler are other examples today
@@GodInHisPrime yeah Kendrick Lamar is man.. but he didn't added him in the album .. I love sidewalks and pray for me
@surg1cal based and ratio
@surg1cal not the point, the point is that he changes his sound and never makes the same album twice
@surg1cal 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂💀

holy shit. you may not be right, but fuck thats a great explanation and I could believe it.
I don’t think we’ll see Grandpa Abel quite yet, I think it’ll be one or two more videos, but wow that’s an amazing analysis

Some people just want to go against the mainstream even if they know theyre wrong
the weeknd the most deep musician i seen in a long time

I get what you mean it has a cohesive narrative running through like After Hours which most albums fail at.
I get it bro and ikr
yoo the flashing trippy colors on the choruses are so dope. abel literally never disappoints im so excited to see where he takes the next music videos. XOTWOD
i really love the colorful blast, it added so much hype you know
He’s setting up these videos to become some sort of movie. I hope all of them connect and are continuous like Sacrifice was with Take my Breath
I’m sure they will, I’m pretty sure Abel is trying to move into the film industry and he’s showed that he really wants to top After Hours. Musically he didn’t top it, but with the artistry, it’s absolutely looking like he might

I’m an artist inspired by The Weeknd 🖤 I’d appreciate your feedback! Thank you
The visuals are INSANNNNNNE 🔥
My neighbors just threw a thick inside my windows so that they could hear it even better
This mv has so many references, so beautiful

this album will age beautifully
Woke up with this playing in my head, definitely a hit. Cant stop listening to this album
YOU SEE HIS DANCE MOVE THO!!!
I think by now Abel could transform the plot of his last 3 albums into a tv show
Album been on repeat 🔥
He was most definitely inspired by the movie dark city.
I think his character here blindly gets abducted by them and he believed that he would get everything, like staying young forever and getting everything he wanted instead in the end he gets tricked losing his soul and his young looks are taken away. There's still more to the story. Gonna be a big one I guess.
"I want a video for every song 😏" same lol
i just love the whole vibe of this song and album as a whole.

The livestream was so dope, you can tell he was enjoying it so much
Love your video’s on the weeknd brother. This album just makes me wanna dance!

All I have to say is….. I WANT A MOVIE OF HIS ALBUM !!!!!!! That would be amazing 😭❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

Jon loving that 1980s vibe
Jon you’re the fucking best at reacting, you just get it
This might be the greatest song ever tbh
Bad news Jon - the SHM remix version of this song is even better
The groove on this song absolutely fucks
Sacrifice RULES🔥
You did earn that beer bro 👏
I think it's fair to say everybody was excited for this, great record overall 👌
I’ve listened to the album, without exaggeration like 60x. Anyone else?❤️🤌🏼😩
I feel like you really need to listen to "Dreamland" from ZHU... It's like this dark and mysterious R&B/House album with features from Kota the friend, tinashe, Yuna, Bob Moses, ....
You and I both turned the volume up at the same time when I first watched this. xD

“I want a video of every song” it’s me AF
The *demon* shows the sacrifice he would get from this *girl* who also take his soul in the video
I’ve heard this album 10-20 times already
Favorite song off the album this song slaps
The weeknd has the best music videos the old songs all connect
ME TOO!!! I want a video for every God damn song TOO! 😩😩 #XOTWOD
Jon, you are awesome. Thank you for all of your react vids
The Dawn is here! Whoo Hoo! 😂
Maybe the red thing thats pulling his soul out is like a metaphore for the "After hours era"?
I predict we get the Tyler feat as the next single in a few months to hype the deluxe and when the tour comes, we get I love you when you're angry that finishes the main dawn vids
Love tipsy Denton ! As always thanks for always reacting, XOTWOD!

Love this video so much from the Take My Breath video from this Well I will sacrifice this for Abel “The Greatest Human Being in Music” 💣💣💣
Highlight of my day is a vid of you reacting to Abel’s new stuff!
You have to react to the Sacrifice remix
XO is doing amazing 💃🏻💃🏻💃🏻💃🏻
niceeee
I love your reactions
Jon with an eyebrow ring😭😭
would you say is the continuation of the song where he gets his head chopped off from the music video in after hours?
Took me 1 day for the album to grow to me
Love it
🔥
🖤🖤
React to the Sacrifice (Remix) , it is fire!
He is the best singer in the world!
It seems that at 5:12 the demon is taking his youth
pls react to MITSKI'S discograpgy! If you love alt girls like lana or phoebe, mitski is just as the same level, every album is an absolute work of art
is it me, or has @JonDenton not done a reaction to the ECHOES OF SILENCE video that dropped last month?
More you listen to The Weeknd more it grows
It would be awesome if Abel did another short film for his album, the same way he did that one from Starboy (forgot the name now)
It was called MANIA
Doubt he'll do one or he likely would have dropped it prior! Plus his AH short film didn't get fantastic numbers... this is why more XO need to flock to his projects!
In the memento mori episode he said that he has filmed some short film type of thingy
