    Revenge Of The Sith is my absolute favorite out of the prequels. The double climactic lightsaber duel that takes place toward the end of the movie, Anakin Skywalker/Darth Vader VS Obi-Wan Kenobi on Mustafar and Yoda VS Emperor Palpatine on Coruscant in the Senate chamber are top-notch across the board. Musical score, fight choreography, visual effects, audio effects and emotional impact. I give them all an A+.

      If you look at the way anakin and obi-wan were fighting, you can see how they have the same movements due to how often they've trained together from the moment they did that routine of swinging their blades without them touching each other cause they both predicted what the other would do leaving them in a sort of stalemate for a moment.

      (I'd been thinking about this through the entire video and I had to get it out lol)
      And he doesn't really even have time to make a decision, like sure he'd been thinking on what the emperor said but once he was actually on the scene it all happened very fast. Then once he did decide he immediately regretted it but at that point, at least in his mind, he didn't have any other option. The jedi couldn't help him save padmé and he'd technically betrayed his best friend and had no reason to believe obi wan would trust or forgive him. At that point the only thing he had going for him was padmé and so he doubled down and tried to convince himself it was all worth it and that it was gonna be okay. Once you're in that mindset it's very hard to turn back, and the only ones who could've convinced him to were nowhere to be found. Anakins fall, while horrible, actually makes a lot of sense.

    Clone Wars is def worth the watch, even if off camera. It helps further explain Anakin’s divide with the Jedi. It’s tragic. The Jedi’s initial rejection and mistrust of Ani from childhood is exactly what drove him into Palpatine’s arms to be manipulated and turned against them in the first place. Sad to watch but Palpatine’s chess moves were impeccable. Cheers!

The only capable one of helping ani that wasn't qui-gon was mace but didn't like him nor trust him. Not to mention they all kept pushing him away. Ani's only problem was him being gullible about padme and his need for power as well as his scarred past.

    Don, when the Jedi keep saying you have to "let someone go" it's not to feel less attached but accept that your time with them is finite. Think of it like this: if you know your loved one will be gone no matter what you do, you'll make the most of every moment with them. Mourning them afterward is natural. However NOT letting go is worse! Not accepting the reality of things leads to anger. Know what I mean?

He's so underrated, and this role destroyed his career for over twenty years. It's nice to finally see him start to see how adored he is by his fans. Social media wasn't so much a thing back then, so he had no idea beyond the reviews of Siskel & Ebert how the audience viewed his performance. This trilogy is very underrated. Underneath some of the questionable writing and dialogue choices is an awesome story and sad tragedy.
    By the way Obi-wan was probably the best person to face General Grevious. Kenobi's fighting style is form 3 (soresu) the defensive form of lightsaber combat. He essentially became the best master of the form in the jedi order and if you master it to the degree he did you essentially become an unbreakable wall in a duel. That's why he held up so well against Grevious and Anakin's relentless assaults. Keep defending for as long as possible to wait for an opening and/or for the enemy to tire out. Plus he was the jedi master that faced Grevious the most as well so there was no better choice. Now the form does have a weakness. It's the lightsaber form that Dooku had mastered. The perfect precision of that form is a hard counter to form 3. So Kenobi would never be able to defeat Dooku by himself.
    There's something you should know about the darkside as well. If your anger and hatred is strong enough in the dark side then you will be able to survive seriously gruesome injuries. The reason for this is because the dark side will refuse to let the user to die and that's easier for the individuals with massive darkness. There wan one ancient sith lord from the old republic games that was essentially a walking talking charred corpse. And no matter what damage he took he wouldn't die. Anakin was in a similar position as that guy. Being in horrible agony as a half dead toasty carcass but being unable to die because his hatred is just that deep. And he never stopped feeling that pain and agony as Vader.
    Another thing. Do you remember how R2 never stayed with the ship when Luke told him to in the original trilogy? That's because when Anakin told R2 to stay with the ship he never returned. You can't find a droid that's better than R2.
    Now you should watch the clone wars because it shows you the events in between episode 2 and 3. And it makes the events of episode 2 and 3 make a lot more sense. I reccomend you watch it before the kenobi show as well as the other live action shows.

    • @Abdullah7536
      @Abdullah7536 5 місяців тому +17

      @LowkeyEditss Then you did not understand it. Why do you believe did he not decide to follow Padme at the end?
      Anakin couldn’t stand the thought of not having control when he has all this power.
      It is difficult to understand, so let me explain it to you like that:
      A Jedi is trained to let go of anything that they have no control over. It’s pointless to get scared or angry over something you can’t do anything about. After the death of his mother, Anakin’s solution to this is:
      ‘Then I’ll just control everything. I’ll become the most powerful Jedi ever. That way, I’ll never have to be afraid of letting people go.’
      Which is just unhealthy. A Jedi doesn’t seek power. A Jedi is selfless.
      At first Anakin’s driving force to save Padme was solely out of love, but after the massacre it shifted to greed.
      Not only would he not lose Padmé, not only was he already thinking of killing Palpatine despite not knowing how to save Padmé, but when Padmé sees who Anakin had become and starts to back away from him we immediately see him threaten her.
      For one he completely dismisses what Padmé is telling him, and the way he speaks about not letting happening to her what had happened to his mother was no longer about concerned about Padmé but his own pride.
      To him all the deaths he caused had a purpose and meaning, and that meaning to him was that he was becoming powerful enough to not fail again. Not to protect or save anyone, but because his over inflated ego told him he was getting all that he deserved. And no one would stand in his way. Not even Padmé.
      His love for Padmé was turned into possession, where he refused to lose her because she was his.
      Anakin was truly selfish. His only concern was what HE wanted.

    • @Abdullah7536
      @Abdullah7536 5 місяців тому +13

      @LowkeyEditss This is literally not how it was lol. His own ambitions was to not lose Padme, he was no slave to Palpatine. He was momentarily dependent to Palpatine, but Palpatine didn’t even had the power, but only knew it would be achieved through the dark side.
      Palpatine opened him an opportunity to save Padme, but Anakin literally decided to overthrow Palpatine afterwards when he thought he had enough power.
      Why would you think did he want to do that? I don’t say there was no love, but it has been overshadowed by greed. He went to the dark side to save her, and the dark side meddled with Anakin’s mind.
      Padme understood that in that blazing moment. Anakin had changed.
      Your refuse of my comment was therefore unjustified

      while i'm sure anakin cared for padme and obi wan to an extent, he was definitely doing it for himself. it's kind of hard to explain if you've never experienced selfish love in a relationship but he was attached and infatuated with her and as long as he's around her he's happy, so his actions were in his own interest and not necessarily hers. it didn't really matter how she felt about the whole thing as long as he was with her, which is exactly why he chokes her and tosses her aside. just to immediately be concerned about her again at the end. he doesn't care about HER, he cares about how HE feels in that relationship.

In all those years in solitude in Tatooine Obi Wan learnt it. That´s why he told Vader in episode IV: "if you strike me down, I´ll become more powerful that you can possibly imagine".

    Years ago, I had read some Star Wars lore that said the Sith use red lightsabers because the crystals inside them that provide the blade are synthetic. The Jedi use naturally found organic crystals that they find in mines, which create a blue or green blade. (That doesn't explain why Mace Windu had a purple lightsaber, the IRL reason is that Sam Jackson wanted a unique color so he could spot himself in big lightsaber battles.) But since the Jedi protect those crystal mines, the Sith can't get ahold of any organic crystals for their own lightsabers, so they have to make synthetic crystals. For that reason, red lightsabers became a defining characteristic of Sith lords. Star Wars lore has changed over time, most recently when Disney bought the IP. So I don't know if that's still the canon.

    • @d.b.4671
      @d.b.4671 5 місяців тому +6

      The new explanation (I'm loath to call it "canon") is that Sith use the dark side to corrupt their crystals in a process called "bleeding". Personally I prefer the old lore on that subject.

    • @Leekle2ManE
      @Leekle2ManE 5 місяців тому +7

      Another reason given for the red sabers is that the Sith use the Force to essentially bend the kyber crystal to their will, which causes the nature of the crystal to change. Mace's saber was purple because his philosophy ran very close to the dark side, it is why he is one of the coldest of the Jedi and why he was able to go toe-to-toe with Sidius when the others were cut down in short order.

    • @LeoBeastmode
      @LeoBeastmode 5 місяців тому +5

      @@Leekle2ManE I believe, originally and in universe, the reason Mace's saber was uniquely purple is just that the kyber crystal he used is exceptionally rare. @ignitehope6220 5 місяців тому +12

    This is my favorite movie because it shows what Anakin is having to deal with, the chancellor is basically grooming him while still being a trusted mentor. On the other hand, the Jedi start using underhanded tactics like having Anakin spy on Palpatine while also telling him to "let go of everything he fears to lose" this comes from a place of trying to help, but the temple never helped free his mom and thus leading Anakin to ignore these words and trust Palpatine over the Jedi due to their inability to see their own hypocrisies. Also, the tragedy of Darth Plagues the Wise was a story about how Palpatine killed his own master to gain more power and slowly take over the republic from the inside without anyone ever knowing it was him. I keep editing this because I keep seeing the details that I love about this movie, like how Anakin stays in the shadows throughout the whole movie, giving the viewer a sense of his fall into darkness without telling them this can be seen at 10:20 and 15:50 . Also with the context of the clone wars TV show the betrayal Anakin must feel when the Order tells him they won't let him become a Master further driving a wedge between their relationship, this also gave Palpatine enough leeway to know Anakin wouldn't kill him if he revealed his secret and thus through everyone lying and not trusting him enough. Anakin becomes the very thing he sought to destroy and becomes Darth Vader.

    Palpetine is the one who implanted the visions using the dark side into Anakin's dreams..that's his whole plan to turn him and it worked...Anakin was far too caring and emotional..he joined the Jedi order at older age then other Jedi younglings and had attachments and trauma already that's his downfall. Also Anakin had the highest midiclorian count of any Jedi or sith in history about 23,500 for instance Yoda had 20,000 per cell...but Yoda or Mace windu had much more years of training and were more experienced than Anakin..and yet because of his connection to the force Anakin was nearly unstoppable. Obi Wan only had about 14,000 per cell midi lorian but he trained so much and also Obi Wan trained Anakin so he knew his moves so he actually was likely the only one who could stand against Anakin...other than maybe the very best at that point..and eventually if Anakin wasn't injured he would have become more powerful and experienced than even palpetine or Yoda or Mace...Palpetine had 22,000 midiclorian count btw so that explains his power in the force and ability to beat Yoda..he also was no slouch in lightsaber combat. Palpetine practiced Juyo the most intense and various form of combat with a saber the constant aggression form. Anakin used Djem so a classic strength attack style form 5...Yoda used form 4 ataru the acrobatic form to make up for his short size...Obi Wan used the all defensive form 3 soresu but supplemented with ataru for attack. That's how Obi wan was able to last long enough against Anakin at that power so high above him..in the end the dark side clouded his mind and Anakin was arrogant and jumped above Obi Wan tried to use one of Obi wan own moves....the one Obi Wan used to kill Darth Maul with a leap and cut across. But Obi knew what Anakin was gonna do which is why he said don't try it..

    This right here is my personal favorite of all the Star Wars movies! Between the action, the soundtrack and balance of tragedy and hope, I always enjoy watching it.
    Also, just one thing I want to point out about the Jedi when it comes to emotion and attachments. It's not they can't have them it's that they shouldn't allow them to dictate their actions. Jedi can have friends for example as evidenced by Anakin and Obi-Wan's relationship however they should always uphold the greater good as keepers of the peace. Anakin's story is the perfect example of this. Anakin was put in the position of having to choose between potentially saving his wife and unborn child or turning in a dangerous Sith Lord (who also was one of the few people that he thought appreciated him). If Anakin didn't become so attached to Padme (and later marry her) he probably would have turned Palpatine in. But his attachments dictated his actions and put him on the path to the Dark Side. Now, of course there are other factors like Anakin's mistrust of the council, his arrogance which was fueled by all his victories during the war etc. (a lot of which is explored more in the TV series) but the attachments thing is the main factor he struggled with as a Jedi.

    Fun fact: 26:37 the Padawan that kills the Clones and dies in front of Senator Bail Organa, is George Lucas' son, Jett Lucas.
    About the lightsaber color though, when they turn to the dark side their lightsaber won't automatically become red. Instead, what happens is the user of the lightsaber will use the Force on the Kyber crystal, which resides in and powers every lightsaber, to "bleed" the crystal, essentially putting some of your hate, anger and other various Dark Side traits in the crystal to make it more aligned with your Dark Side powers.
    Also, I've always personally believed if Anakin had never turned to the Dark Side, Padme probably wouldn't have actually died. Not just because Anakin force choked her, but if she really "lost the will to live" it was definitely completely due to Anakin's actions. Anakin should've waited in the Council Chambers as instructed, or just let Mace Windu kill Palpatine fr. He could've even helped tbh, if he planned to not stay in the Chambers anyway, but then we wouldn't have the original trilogy.

    If you were curious, General Grievous was originally a human, who's original name was Qymaen jai Sheelal. (Sorry for the long comment below, but trust me, this is the short version of the story).
    To cut a long story short, he was a commanding officer during the Clone Wars in the final years of the Republic Era. In addition to his position as a general within the Separatist Droid Army, the Kaleesh (Grevious) held the title of Supreme Martial Commander of the Separatist Droid Armies throughout the duration of the war, in which he led countless engagements against the Republic's Grand Army.
    Recognized for his ruthless tactics and extensive cybernetic enhancements, Grievous utilized the Separatist Droid Army and his adept combat skills to instill fear throughout the galaxy as he travelled to and invaded planets, while also engaging numerous Knights of the Jedi Order, his sworn enemies.
    Grievous' potential was seen by the Sith Lords Darth Sidious and Darth Tyranus, also known as Dooku, the Count of Serenno.
    Dooku and Sidious, who had significant plans for Grievous, had already been drawn to his exploits while he was working as an enforcer for the InterGalactic Banking Clan. Sometime later, members of the Executive Separatist Council of the newly-formed Confederacy of Independent Systems led by Dooku conspired to mortally wound Grievous in a bid to convert him into a super-cyborg subservient to their cause.
    Dooku's agents sabotaged Grevious's shuttle, which resulted in a gruesome crash that left the man on the brink of death. Grievous was offered conversion into an enhanced cybernetic being by the Sith, who were interested in experimenting with technologically advanced beings. His remaining vital organs implanted into a powerful robotic body, after the majority of his organic body was destroyed, but over time he gradually started to make considerable improvement to his cybernetic body.
    The reconstructed Grievous became a skilled lightsaber duelist under Dooku's guidance.
    Shortly after the advent of the Clone Wars, Grievous was granted the rank of general, as well as the title of Supreme Martial Commander of the Separatist Droid Armies, making him one of the most powerful people within the Separatist Alliance, second only to his master Dooku.
    Grievous wielded his skills as a brilliant military strategist and melee combatant during numerous campaigns against the Republic throughout the Clone Wars while also gaining a reputation for hunting and killing Jedi Knights. He made a habit of claiming the lightsabers of defeated Jedi as trophies and weapons to be used against other opponents. His position and threat level led to his pre-eminence as one of the Republic's primary targets throughout the course of the war.
    As the war played out, Grievous found a personal nemesis in Jedi Master Obi-Wan Kenobi, whom he dueled on numerous occasions.
    Edit: Grevious was from a species called The Kaleesh.

      @@Jumpyman_thegamerYT but to be honest, once you go more deep into the story of Grievous, the more you realize that he is pretty much a more tragic character than Anakin.

    Palpatine had the Trade Federation invade and occupy Naboo so he could become Supreme Chancellor. The Clone Wars/Civil War was just that on a larger scale, keeping them in deadlock until he could consolidate power enough in the Republic to declare himself emperor. The man played the entire fucking galaxy and they thanked him for it

    If you think this hurt, the Obi Wan show stung too. The show was mid, but the end was good.
    Without spoilers, Obi sees who Darth Vader is, and it breaks him beyond repair.

    The reason the emperor lied to Ani about killing his misses is because the sith gain strength through emotion and feelings so an emotion like rage being fueled by regret and sadness is basically like a steroid for sith its not good for em and its slowly killing them but damn them results though.

    One thing is that Anakin tried to save padme from death after his mom died from the same visions of the future. But getting visions from the future could mean a lot of things. Yoda said in episode 5 to Luke that the future is always in motion. Padme died just like the vision because Anakin tried to take the future into his own hands. But by doing so he made the dream he kept having about padme come true.

      But couldn’t Anakin have saved his mother if Obi Wan had allowed him to save his mother much sooner? Should Anakin have done absolutely nothing to protect Padme and their unborn children? I don’t agree with certain things and views that the Jedi have.

    This movie is has such a depressing end that it never feels right being the end of a six part saga. Personally i always watch Ep6 Return of the Jedi after Ep3 to see Anakin come back to the light and have a happy ending for the saga

    Time Code: 43:20 - greeting don, padmé did not die from child birth or a broken heart.
    force drain - the darkside ability to suck the lifeforce form others to stay alive.
    this can be done, even millions of away from their victims, but it has to be someone a force user have a strong connection with.
    darth vader, unknowingly, did this with the "knowing" guidance of darth sidious, to padmé when she was giving birth to the twins & that is why she died... but it was not from a broken heart.
    This was the secret of darth plageus, "who had the ablilty to "keep others from dying".
    force heal: luke skywalker does the opposite to his knights, if they are gravely injured or sick, on other planets, he can give them force energy, to stay alive, until that person can be treated.
    luke skywalker, of the new jedi order, is the only force user who can do this, because he's the most powerful force user, ever recorded in 10,000 year history of the jedi.
    this can be verified in the star wars novels & comics... before the Disney takeover.
