Kelly to his credit is appealing to the ref to see sense - whether this is because he knows that he is as guilty as McGinlay is, I'm not sure. The players shook hands on it and got on with the game. The Ref kept his head where both players lost theirs - he immediately made allowances for the high stakes/drama of the match, and common sense prevailed.
wp ref. keep players on the pitch, they're men playing a man's game and they had a split second of madness caused by passion. i wish football was like this now, rather than pink booted playboys rolling in a heap of injured-ness then getting up to do 75 minutes of step-overs.

The referee saw they were both guilty so did the sensible thing, wonderful reffing. how we laughed at you so many times when super John took the piss and scored against the team in orange shirts. go on orange boys, admit it, you loved him really!!!!
