Fly Fishing - Naugatuck River, CT - May 21 2022 - Scouting

Took a trip to the Naugatuck today on a scouting mission and decided to bring the full big rig camera. Got into a bunch of fish but nothing earth shattering. I did mange to catch rainbow, brown, and brook trout so that is a plus. The usual suspect flies and techniques will work here for sure.

Nice work Derek ! I love the camera angle , but I prefer seeing a glimpse of the fish with the release! I guess mixing it up keeps it fresh ! Those damm trees , we’ve all had those days and it’s just part of the game fishing in a tight stream ! Nice to see you scouting out new streams! Tight lines buddy

Very cool, haven't fished there in years. Hard spot to wade. You should check out Salmon River State forest sometime before it gets too warm.

@@fly-f1sh140 I live right by The Salmon River, it can get crowded on weekends and evenings. If you catch it right there's lots of good fishing there.

​@@kenferraro7900 I'm already done there for the season. Use to live off old hartford rd. 30 years of beating that river up. Now I live 20 mins from the housy and fish there and the farmington.

I believe the way I found that parking spot was on the naugatuck river website. The have maps with pins I do not remember the exact roads. Hope that helps.
