been in construction along time, taping with a bit of mud on top of the tape after you've embedded it just helps the knife slide across the tape smoother.....only reason I do it....usually tape with hot mud and do second coat right behind it....alot of dudes say let it dry and get really technical with taping....it isnt complicated or technical, some trades are but this isnt one of them.....getting the feel of the knifes and working with mud does take some time main reason is usually because beginners are stiff, nervous and apprehensive...you can visually see it ..loosen up your wrists, arms and body and just flow, if you drop some or make a mistake who cares...easy to fix and youll have better results
Really well explained. Aren't that many videos that actually explain how to manipulate the knife or go into that great detail. thanks from Sweden!
thank you, it's been really hard to find a straight forward video on this

Thank you, this was so helpful!!
Practice makes perfect! If you screw up the first time, just scrape off all the mud and tape while it's still wet, and start over. You got this!
I'm guessing that practice makes perfect.
