Funny Darren said something about lofting cuz some guy was fighting for his life in a short I saw… about how he can’t stand 10-pin bowling because people loft the gutter. Literally called 10-pin a “joke” and said the only true bowling is candlepin and I had never laughed harder in my life 😂😂

I attended a Storm demo day where I threw Sublime, Summit Peak, DNS Coil, Exotic Gem, Harsh Relatity, and Absolute Power. The Summit Peak felt best for my throw. The DNS Coil was my 2nd favorite.

Had mine sitting at the house for a week and a half and finally had it drilled. House shot is a 42', drilled it 30 x 5 x 35 pin up. Absolutely love it. I have the Eternity PI at the top of the bag with this one with a slightly weaker layout. Great 1/2 punch for my game.

I agree that the DNA Coil might be the "everything" ball. By that, I think you mean a ball with exceptional versatility. I guess that the closest thing to an "everything" ball in my bag is my pin-down Track Latitude Pearl.
This DNA Coil is certainly a good one!

Great content as always Darren. I do want to ask for some advice regarding fit. I've changed grips in my bowling balls and still feel like I can't get the ball off my hand properly. I bowl like Tom Daugherty so no thumb just the 2 fingers. I'm not really sure if it's a fitting issue I'm having or if it's just the grips. Any advice would help.

Love the videos, but maybe I missed it but I've not seen a video about how to choose a new ball, been wanting to get more serious about bowling, have loved it since I was a child but only ever learned what my dad taught me and while he was a great bowler and I avg 190 at my local alley, that teaching was all about feel so I don't know or understand the terms I see when trying to find a new ball. If you've done a video about any of that I'd love to watch it, if not maybe you know someone who has?

I still haven't gotten a VEBO. Been sticking to my Black Venom and do well with it. When it starts to hydroplane a bit I switch to my Hy-Road Pearl and eliminate the sliding. I don't know if it's how I throw it or just how the ball behaves pin up but the Hy-Road Pearl fucking takes off when it grabs. Instead of a curve mine is usually a straight up angle. It stops moving forward and just cuts in a straight line.

So you said that when the ball is a "pin up" that its going to make the ball hook earlier. I understand that the more flare then the more boards the ball may cover as in more hook but when I saw you throw the pin down, that ball actually started up earlier. I'm still trying to figure out the pin up vs pin down. I feel like I have an understanding for it but sometimes I get confused especially when I hear that a pin up is going to hook earlier haha

Noticed that the pattern shown for the Attention Star changed to Radium when the rest of the video for the shots with the Coil had the Helium graphic. I'm assuming that was an honest mistake? Otherwise, Coil looking kinda nice.

I think that the DNA Coil looks like a good ball, but it doesn’t seem to be as smooth as maybe some other balls are. Maybe that’s to be expected with pearl balls in general though 🤷♂️

How would you lay out the ball when the layouts are the same but one has pin up and other has pin down? What determines where the Lin is at if they are the same?

The hammer effect is not made by Motiv it's made by Hammer which is a Brunswick owned company made in Mexico. Motiv is a self owned USA company that manufactures in Michigan.

I don’t understand how Darren’s angles and release allows him to drill the balls so close to being lefty
The horizontal component of his axis is shorter which puts the pin further away. For reference I’m 5.75 over so a 5.25 Pin to PAP is roughly pin over ring/bridge

On another topic, what part of Darren’s shoe does he use to determine what board he lines up on? I use the inside of my left shoe covering the board I am lining up on. Just wondering what the pros do.
@@richardvandenberg6092also a great question! I have a size 13 foot so I always wondered this too since my foot itself covers multiple boards. I have seen some using the center point of their left foot. I personally use the inside edge of my left foot because that puts my center at that board

You dont care about shooting 300's and I cant find a ball I like so I can shoot my first sanctioned 300, bowling 30+ years and have shot 3, 300's and none were sanctioned.
