Presently surprised by this one, but still having issues with Reacta Gloss myself. It's nowhere near as bad as it used to be, but all my "shiny" stuff I've been taking down to 1000 and then putting Step 2 on. Worked wonders on the DNA Coil and now The Road as well.
Hi - I have a question. I'm in a Junior League and throw the bowling ball at about 13 mph and the weight of the ball is 13 lbs. The lanes are light to oily. My question is if you think that THE ROAD would be a good ball as an upgrade from the ball that I have, which is TROPICAL SURGE? Many thanks in advance for your advice.
Great review, as always. Even though it didn't last all that long, unlike the High Road, I'm more curious how you'd compare this to the Night Road. This seems almost Night Road 2.0'ish to me. Would this be too similar? I've also tried to love the ZGL and tried different surfaces, but it just doesn't seem to agree with me all that much. I know you mentioned that the ZGL is a touch stronger, but if I replaced my ZGL with the new The Road, do you think that'd be a pretty decent replacement for that spot in my bag? I only bowl sets of 3 games during league so I typically don't get TOO far into my weaker lineup, but recently, it seems I sure need to a whole lot earlier than I ever did before. Maybe I'm learning..... 😂 Anyway, I'm not too hell bent on buying every new ball that comes around like I used to, but this one definitely caught my eye! So whaddya think? Ditch the ZGL in favor of this (even with the Night Road in my bag, which I DO like a lot)? Always great catching your new vids! Thanks in advance!
They're going to be really similar on hook potentials, I think the shapes are a little different, the Road shapes a little more like the Journey while the Night was more of a round and continuous look like the Hyroad Pearl. The Road is quite a bit easier down the lane than the ZGL I think, but that might be what you're looking for, it rolling earlier might be what's tripping you up.
Is rex hybrid actually any different than rex pearl Both are hybrids in that they combine r2s and nex solid? Little confused by the designation when the website has basically a similar description although I am sure there is a difference in the formulation
Yeah, rex is a combination of nex and r2s, so that mixture can be pearl, hybrid, or solid. Thinking of it as a hybrid formula is what's tripping you up.
I'm curious why not compare it to the night road? I know the cores are a little different and the cover formulas are the same except pearl vs hybrid but is it because Zach doesn't have a night road anymore? Anyways I love the content as always
It's faster or sharper, I don't know about actually stronger, so if you mean it's reacting more quickly on the backend, yes, but overall stronger, it's not. I think it's similar strength overall to the Eternity but should be weaker than the P2, so you're probably not bowling on a ton of volume if the Sublime is stronger.
@LukeRosdahl Thanks! OK, sharper, perhaps. I had a bizarre issue with humidity Wednesday night. Red slide heel, you name it. Sublime was the "only" thing with "any" hook. P2 and Eternity went straight into 6 pin. So, probably just the condition for the day?
@@jcc_482 Maybe? Might have not had a ton of oil, might have had some carrydown, humidity would definitely make things weird, and might just need to hit the covers on the other two or get a detox or something. If that's not typical, probably just a weird night.
i hope this isn't like this night road. my brother has one and out of the box, he hated it. it probably had something to do with the layout, but that ball was so weird for him and not in a good way at all. strangely it became a lot better for him when he took a 2k pad to it and he uses it on the fresh now.
Why would it be the layout if changing the surface fixed it . . but reacta gloss was bad when it first came out and was even cross contaminating the sanded stuff, so up until a couple months ago, everything needed the surface reset out of the box. Everything is fine now though so there shouldn't be any worries
@@LukeRosdahl hahahaha as in we weren't sure if it was reacta gloss or if it was the layout that make it wonky at the time. Regardless, it's great to hear the the road doesn't have any of that. Have a 2008 hy-road and i kinda want to replace it soon with something a little different

Yeah that's why I keep mentioning that in general, it's just a good idea to get rid of factory polish because it's not meant for good ball reaction.

It's more like 2 steps up, so you might go with something like a Hustle first, the Road is a bigger jump on strength.
Many thanks for getting back to me
I LOVE mine

Nice video Luke i hope its not like the Night road. I polished the night road but its not like the og and pearl. Its ok. Thanks 👍
Doesn't seem to be like the Night

For me it’s way earlier

How does this compare to an Elektrify?
Not close, this one has a significantly stronger coverstock than the Electrify

Night Road is discontinued and Storm requires that the comparison ball in a review be a ball that's currently in production.
Off subject: my Sublime cover is stronger than my Phaze II and my S84 Eternity. Same layouts. You seeing this?

I love this ball… without Reactagloss.
