My top three favorite events from Marvel: Annihilation + Annihilation Conquest saga {both mini series} Infinity Gauntlet 1-6 House of M main event 1-8 Honorable mentions: Secret Wars 2015 by Jon Hickman, Secret Wars original event, Civil War, Xmen AoA, Xmen Fall of the Mutants, Xmen Messiah Complex, Xmen Second Coming, War of Kings. I've never read recent more new events like Original Sin, 'King in Black' in Donny Cates Venom run, War of the Realms at the end of JAson Aaron's Thor run, AXE Judgement Day, Devil's Reign etc.
Infinite Crisis is my favorite event, I really want to get that omnibus for the tie ins! I just reread Secret Invasion with the avengers tie ins and it really added to the story this time
I’d love to read the secret invasion event with tie-ins I’ve only read the main event and a few issues leading in. And yes high recommend for that infinite crisis omnibus! It’s my favorite DC event that I’ve read and reading with all the tie-ins is a blast 📚📚📚
So happy to hear you enjoyed! I really love this format. Thank you for the feedback! Out of curiosity what are some of your favorite comic events? :) 📚
@@TheComicBookReport Not yet, haven't read any yet actually aha. I do plan on reading Flashpoint pretty soon though, and gonna check out Crisis on Infinite Earths at some point as well.
@@FaithInterlude-lp8yi both are fun! Flashpoint may be a tad easier to get into! It’s more modern and less dense. 📚 Hope you enjoy when you have the opportunity!
I did not understand Crisis on Infinite Earths when I read it as a kid when it was first released. I was very excited to read it again at 50, knowing that I would totally enjoy it now that I'm wiser and more mature. Nope. Still don't understand it. 🤦♂️😂
Absolutely love the original Secret Wars! I read the omnibus in two days. Despite it being written to sell toys, Jim Shooter wrote an amazing event! Plus, Mike Zeck and Bob Layton's art embodies everything that made 80's comic art classic.
I will admit that although Marvel's Secret Wars beat DC to the punch with a huge crossover event to include multiple titles, DC took it to a whole other level by utilizing COIE to reboot their universe. It was very risky at the time and paid off.

My top three DC events, of the ones I read: - Blackest Night - Sinestro Corps War - Infinite Crisis All under Geoff Johns. Others I like a lot are Crisis on Infinite Earths, Kingdom Come and Flashpoint. I dont' consider long arcs or storylines within a title as events. Those are long character defining story arcs or crossovers in that specific characters books; such as Knightfall, Batman No Man's Land, Death and return of Superman, Batman Court of Owls and Night of Owls or The Judas Contract in classic New Teen Titans.
Final Crisis and Crisis On Infinite Earths are my top two crossover events from DC and Secret Wars 2015, as I call it, is my favorite marvel event. But from DC, I would recommend DC One Million and the more recent, Dark KNights Death Metal. Those two are just fun reads. Although it is not a crossover event in the traditional sense, it has the traits of one-JLA vs Titans The Technis Imperative. A great story that features almost all of my favorite DC heroes. So I'd recommend that one. And from Marvel, I highly recommend The War of The Reams, a Thor themed crossover event and just a fun, epic read. It has a lot of my favorite hroes in it, especialy Spider-man, Captain America, Daredevil and Punisher. Secret War and Siege, both written by Brian Michael Bendis, are both really great Marvel events.
@@TheComicBookReport The JLA goes into the 853rd century to celebrate the retun of the Prime Superman from his time spent in the sun and Vandall Savage and a sentient sun creature, known as Solaris take advantage of this. Luckily, Justice Legion A, the Justice League of the 853rd century are there to help. My favorite crossover event from the '90s.
Civil war 2 is terrible, man. Totally made to capitalize on the captain america civil war movie with a terrible ending and motivation. Only good thing is David Marquez art
Love House of M. Did not like A V. X. X-MEN were corrupted by the Phoneix. Hate that Phoenix Force going into a lot of people. Annihilation was cool. Comic stuff is not my thing but it was cool. Infinite Crisis was good. Last best Crisis. Others Crisis are all crap.
@@TheComicBookReport I loved the X-MEN but half of the X-MEN fought against them. Do not mind the Phoneix 5. Hate when it goes into Moon Knight and Echo. Echo is zzz. Overkill.
Flashpoint was a better cartoon than the book. Better fights. It was cool. Hated Final Crisis. Morrison is meh. Book makes no sense. All the Flashes running and messing up time. Hated Secret Wars. The Maker and Doom are power hungry. Not a fan of Hickman stuff. Original was was better andbthenonly good Secret Wars. These just add in more crap along with the multiverse.

@@EmpireStateUtopian_Dystopia great list here! I still need to read Annihilation Conquest
Green Lantern under Geoff Johns had some crazy good events. Blackest Night was a lot of fun, and Sinestro Corps War was head and shoulders above that.
Oh very true! Loved the events we got during John’s GL run 👏📚
Easily could’ve made this list for me as well :)
Johns Green Lantern omnis were my first longer run reads and included the first events I ever read.
@@GimilitheGreat excellent way to start 👏📚
@@GimilitheGreat Oh, that sets a pretty high bar. It’s all downhill from there 🤣

I'd say the og secret wars, its was even earlier then og crisis, but its an absolute classic too.
You know I finally read that this past year and I loved it! If I had a top 15 that would’ve made it on my list 💯📚
Thanks for showing off the paperback versions of some of these events!
