Thanks so much for the kind words, to be included among such stellar creators is both humbling and flattering. There are so many awesome comic UA-cam channels out there, I just love this video concept of spreading all the love. Comics are awesome and so is talking about them!
Love your style of dives into the stories and your topics are always great choices! Thanks for the content! Awesome seeing you shouted out in this video
Honestly you are my personal favorite channel.
So glad to see your name here! You’re the best
Hi! Just leaving you some love here. I actually learned about you back when you were still in that top ten farm that I never subscribed but kept showing up. The moment youtube showed your channel? Immediate follow and never looked back. Whenever I want to have a friend to learn something super obscure, like when Supergirl dated a horse or the lore of Ice Maiden? Your channel is the first one I look at to share
Love watching your vids, they're so fun to listen too!
Thank you for the kind words. It’s always nice to be recognized by your peers and I love the company I’m in. Great idea for a topic. Very positive. And I like seeing how we all love comics but can find an angle on how to approach criticism and analysis. I’ll also say that I also don’t deep dive all of these channels because of the same reason you provided: I don’t want to take someone else’s opinions! But I do browse and I’m in love with both the medium of comics and thoughtful analysis of them. Thank you again.
You should work together. Please!
in the spirit of being candid, youll always be the best in my eyes!!! bwaha
You were the first one I watched, love your work Chris
I'm not into comics but like & subscribe to ComicTropes (and click the bell for notifications!) because of the funny laidback and knowledgeable commentary that makes good use of the youtube medium, without all the BS thumbnails, clickbaity titles, etc. It's just interesting and your enthusiasm is fun to watch.
RAHHHH
I really appreciate all the kind words and praise, Josh. Thank you for using your time to spotlight and shoutout a ton of great channels!
Also, I can confirm the story of us living very close-by for years and never realising is true. I'm sure one day we can hang out though.
Dude credit Greg Capollo in that video
Owen! How have you been, my friend?
@@paulakroy2635 which video? I'm happy to double check if there's any error
@@FancyGeeks great to hear from you! I'm doing okay thank you.
Love you Owen I watch the heck out of you
Thank you for the kind words, Josh! It means so much to get such a glowing review from someone who I've always respected as one of the most passionate, hardworking and multi-talented creators in this space. Working with you here and there over the last few years has been an honor and I hope we get to do so many more times! You're the best.
Just to piss off one of my favorite UA-camrs, I have to be the one to say this…..
“Hey! It’s the Spider-Man Guy.”
He really is the best. I wish more people were like him
Hey, it's that spider man guy from UA-cam jk I love your content regardless of spider-man or not
Hey it's the moon Knight guy
oh shit its that spi- deadpool guy
Thank you for the kind words, Josh, and for making a video that is really needed! I’ll allow this classification as a comic channel for the last time.
I do really consider you more of a variety channel with focus on all media, but I'm thankful for the comic videos you do
@@demonteprice5870 Same
one of the best right here. been loving the univeral horror stuff.
Just watched the Frankenstein retrospective. Loved it
Your comics videos was the reason why I found you and subscribed.
Josh I love you 💜
Edit: I will add that the only reason I’d cringe at being called a comic-tuber is purely because at my height of it I felt like the big channels were a big clique and didn’t like me for some reason, even telling others not to collab with me. The community never felt inclusive back then, but you’ve highlighted so many great channels here that prove the comic-tube space has grown more thoughtful and curious and kind. Thank you again for shouting out everyone in this video! 🥰
Dang, the whole gang is here in the comments! How ya doin, Scott? Loved the last video.
Thank you, Scott! Thank you for so much heartfelt and thought-provoking essays!
You're a Scooby Dootuber.
Scott !!! the OG 🎉🎉🎉❤❤❤
Even though you're more of a Scoobytuber nowadays, you'll always be my favourite comics channel, Scott. Your videos were my saving grace back when I was working long hard days and hours in my old job, and your videos were how I smiled and unwound at the end of the day. So a sincere thank you ❤
JOSH! 🥺 Thank you so much for all the kind words. I've been having a real rough go of it lately and that was a pick me up that I desperately needed, but more importantly, I love seeing all my friends and colleagues getting a spotlight and learning a few new names that weren't on my radar yet.
Drake you are legit the first thing I thought of when he said "Comic Channel", If that doesn't show where you stand then shit dude I don't know what will because you are amazing
Drake you’re goated 🎉❤
One of the realest dudes on the platform right here
Comic Drake… and Josh!
You had me screaming Freddy Krueger at my phone! Hahaha. Thanks for the shoutout, Josh. It’s been such a trip seeing how far you’ve come. You’re a constant inspiration and someone I’m proud to call friend ❤
Thanks so much for the kind words, Josh. It's incredibly humbling to be included with so many great people, and it's a great reminder that I should live up to their standard by celebrating great art instead of beefing with people on Twitter.
Fantastic work as always, and I hope you're doing well!
When I started in 2017, I never would've thought I'd ever be included among so many wonderful creators, some of whom were my actual role models and inspiration for so long. I'm beyond grateful that after all these years and all the effort, I'm actually able to call some of you my friends, or at the very least, peers! Thank you Josh for bringing tears of joy to this crazy Bat-fan :)
well deserved mate :)
I love how all my favourite comic youtubers are in the comments!!! Love your work
@@alexlennen ❤❤❤❤
Love you man. You do great work.
Thanks, Josh! :D You rock, too!
What up
Ayeeeeeee ZeTA Project believers
Sal, Ben, Ethan, and Tiffany at comic pop are my personal fave comic youtubers
I liked them back in the day, but now they're just annoying leftists.
I was looking for this comment. Comic pop is one of my favorites too, but there’s so many good comic book UA-camrs
Love Back Issues and creator interviews!
Bro is out here
I love them. But I think something that I will point out is there a separate divide between UA-camr who react to comics and UA-camr trying to get people into comics. Like I rarely have the urge to pick up a book because of watching a video from them. And that’s not a bad thing it’s just very differemt
Thank you for including me in such a prestigious list!
I often feel like the UA-cam algorithm just doesn't think comic book content is worth suggesting. To the point where even searching for it can give you some mixed results.
Comic Pop is a great one I’ve followed for years, but I agree that there hasn’t really been a successful formula set for comic related channels.
I think the issue is, its a medium that lacks moving visuals, music, or anything you can put on screen except a still image.
And when you have people not moving, talking about a page that isn’t moving,
It can create for a boring experience.
When people talk about epic scenes in films, they will act it out, do impressions of the actors,
sing the score, and so on.
You don’t see that when people talk about comics.
I think We need that Jeremy Jahns/Chris Stuckmann energy,
from people who talk as enthusiastically about pages, as movie UA-camrs talk about film.
Show the viewer what you felt from a comic book, and how the pages moved for you.
Josh! Holy crap thanks so much for making this video and thank you so much for including me in this list of people who are 1000 times more talented than me!
There’s like the Avengers of comic book UA-camrs in the comments this is crazy
Comic Pop is one of the greatest comic book channels. I met Sal and the gang at PAX East one year, and they were very cool. Back Issues is absolutely fantastic.
How could you not mention ComicPop, should I recap the video and add him
Should check out Strange Brain Parts. Very thoughtful, well researched video essays on comics. He also prefers indie stuff, but will delve into mainstream stuff from time to time.
SBP is an excellent channel! Always excited when he drops a new video!
Strange Brain Parts honestly is very good at reviewing comics as literature rather than character did something I didn’t like
That dude is AMAZING
A very mature voice on the comic UA-camsphere
Yep another call for Strange Brain Parts. By far my favourite channel and covers really interesting comics compared to most channels. Its brilliant stuff. Great video by the way. Picked up a couple of places that I'll be checking out for sure. Just want I needed at this time.
Comic Pop and Comic Pop Returns
And even before the dust settled on the Kayfabe name the vultures made sure to pick at its bones.
Only came here to mention ComicPop. They were my first comic book YT channel and will always be my favourite. They celebrate comics and their creators and don’t just join in the Popculture news cycle
No love for ComicPop?
Back Issues continues to be on of the best comic book things on UA-cam, became you can feel the genuine friendship, love, and excitement they all have in each episode.
There have been moments where I had to pause the video because of how hard I was laughing at one of their jokes/reactions.
This video is still amazing, but leaving them out is like leaving out an underrated gem.
I love the list but ComicPop for me is my #1 comic youtube channel. From Back Issues to GBU to creator interviews, they have my favorite content that I cant get enough of.
matttt is one of my favourite comic book chanels
he makes great videos on the history of comics, and talks about their relevance as an inspiration for the future. especially when he goes into analysis that breaks down the art, panel by panel
He suddenly broke out of nowhere and instantly proved his worth. His video of the Duck Man is an all time great of the comic book documentary genre imo. Excellent recommendation!
He's crazy talented, every video is better than the last, the Wendy Pini video is wonderful and I always choke up at his TMNT video.
It's insane to me just how good he was from the beginning. His very first video was so high quality, I didn't think that was possible.
as an aspiring artist Mattt's content just speaks to me
I like how he express the passion and struggles of comic book creators
The way he tells the creators story are peak!
Rip Eddie P
Happy to confirm these creators are great!
You are too my friend!
Comic pop is my favorite. It pretty much got me back into reading superhero comics. Especially for more current stuff. Usually good YT channels can be more focused on stuff from past. Comic Pop does a great job highlighting the best of modern days. I've bought so many comics because of Back Issues and creator interviews.
Y'all need some Strange Brain Parts in your life. Fantastic histories of individuals, eras and even story arcs and some great spotlights on hidden gems and lesser known indies.
So pleased this is the third of these - must stop replying to them all!
Uh oh, you didn’t mention matttt. He’s become my favorite, something about the balance he strikes between nerding out, teaching comic history, and storytelling. Gosh, hope he’s not on your ‘private beef’ list
I feel like he's too new to be on anyone's beef list lol.
Matttt is amazing
I hope you’re right. But it’s an interesting omission, I mean could it be possible Josh hasn’t heard of him?
Seems doubtful, matttt came out the gate swinging, first video hits 2M views. In less than a year he has more than double the subscribers Josh has. Josh’s video on Rob Liefeld is 4 years old, has just under 200k views, while matttt’s Rob Liefeld video is only 8 months old and has 8M views. Be hard not to feel a little threatened by that. Maybe he thinks he hasn’t paid his dues or something. Again, quite happy to be wrong, but why else leave the guy out? He’s an instant treasure in the comic-tuber space
He's pretty basic from what I've seen imo it's pretty rare that he covers anything that hasn't been gone over by 100 other UA-camrs
He talks about the most important thing which are the creators and artists behind these comics he’s awesome
Quite a list! Thank you! Others have mentioned them. The channel called Comic Pop and Comic Pop Returns.
They had to split it due to the YT algorithm not notifying people of all the videos.
Comic Pop has their most successful episodes on Wed. which are called Back Issues
Comic Pop Returns has the others such as their live comic book review on Mondays called Off The Rack, creator interviews, etc.
Thanks again and I'll try and check out more of your videos as well!
ComicPop has to get a mention. Best comic book channel hands down.
My personal favorite is ComicPop. The passion Sal has for his work is infectious. Can't recommend them enough
When i think about a great comic book youtubers, i think about Comic Tropes, Casually Comics, Strange Brain Parts, Matttt, and of course, you Josh!
Strange Brain Parts has a really good Starman video!
@superby1 Indeed he does, the fact he covers a lot of indie comics, it makes me appreciate his channel even more.
@@azozazoz9196 it's introduced me to a few of them. I think the first video I saw was on Void Indigo
matttt came out of nowhere
Causally comics is good very but also and devoid of context. I guess the difference is strange brain parts makes me want to read comics while causally comics can feel like a summary
Strange Brain Parts deserves to be on this list. He's fantastic. Along with Strip Panel Naked they are the best comic UA-camrs. Also love Near Mint Condition, Omnidog's Vault, and Larry's Library for overviews of books.
I get you didn't wanna include recap channels, but at least ComicPOP Returns really deserved a spot on this list. Almost weekly creator interviews from across the industry.
Back Issues has evolved so much from its conception that I wouldn’t even call it recapping. There is joy of discovery with Ethan and Ben who can be surprised by good or ridiculous something is. Especially now with all the context Sal provides and how Tiffany talks about art. Making people emotionally connect with a story is no small feat. I never really liked play by play recaps of comics al though I understand they have their place
ComicPop and ComicPop Returns are why I still love comics ❤
Another great comic-tuber is Strange Brain Parts. He does really great analysis and commentary on deep cut bronze age comics. 10/10 would recommend
Also, his videos about every Comics Age is the gold standard for any UA-cam comic book content creator/channel
ComicPOP and ComicPOP Returns!
ComicPop and comic pop returns is also great
Whoever thinks there are no good comic channels on UA-cam are FOOLISH: we have comicsexplained, owenlikescomics, comics tropes, comic pop, comicstorian, casuallycomics, youngrippa,BlerdwithoutFear, spiritofparadox, thinkingcritical, weirdscience,Alex Lennen…
I could write a full page with the list
Repping Strange Brain Parts and ComicPop here. SBP does great analysis and has such variety in what he covers. And Comic Pop has putting in work for a decade now. Them being a family makes the viewers feel like family too. I always liked how Back Issues is a recap-style show that's value comes from the hosts. Its never a replacement for actually reading the book.
One channel I want to recommend is Near Mint Condition, who focus on collected editions of comics like TBPs, hardcovers, omnibuses, etc. They review both the quality of the book and the contents inside, plus they are in contact with Marvel and so they are often the first to announce their new books too
I love to watch those big books, it's basically comic book porn.
Also Comic Book Report
Bler
Strange Brain Parts is the only comics channel I watch every video from. Treats the audience and the medium with respect and maturity.
Now you got a chance to branch out
Gonna have to mention the GOAT ComicPop. Just crossed 10 years of UA-cam too and i like the collaborations with Comicstorian.
Caped Joel is a great guy and Haussmann-comics is a great up and comer. I'm pretty sure i watch 90% of the list from the video too. So many great channels, I'm hoping i font forget any.
Guess they haven't watch Comic Pop or Comicstorian. Variant
Comic pop! They are a great channel, and their channel comic pop returns. They do weekly talks on weekly books.
Damn, my beloved @StrangeBrainParts didn't get recognized. It's ok though, I'll do it, and at the end of the day I still really respect you for helping to promote other comics UA-camrs.
I was waiting on this comment! In a galaxy 10 mins into the future! Lol
Just to repeat myself - Yep Strange Brain Parts is an amazing channel.
💪💪💪 strange brain parts is on a different level man
SAL CRIVELLI COMIC POP and CAPED JOEL🐐🐐🐐🐐
A lot of people have been saying Comic Pop, and I heavily agree. Sal and the gang don't just recap the story, they add their personality to the mix. A bigger UA-camr who doesn't heavily focus on comics but is adjacent is Nando v Movies. He mostly talks about movies (as the name implies), but he has a second channel, The Nando Cut, where he has a series discussing the characters who are being added to Marvel Snap. He goes into who they are and where they come from, and I have been loving the series.
“Alex goes in for those niche obscure characters” ***shows page full of Spider-Man vids***
Hilarious
Comic Pop is my favorite. I love when they do pitches on their podcast, The Elseworlds Exchange.
Comicstorian and Comic Pop are fantastic channels
Comicstorian is good but they just read off of a Wikipedia page
@@Masterhalo998 what are you talking about he literally does the book panel by panel
ComicPop is a great channel. 😃
I love Tiffany and da guys
ComicPop, Casually Comics, Blerd Without Fear, Mullet-Man Comics, Smokey's Videos, captainmidnight, Strange Brain Parts, JerkComic, Regie Collects Comics, Bronze Age Nerd, Owen Likes Comics, Imperius Rex, Strip Panel Naked - ALL amazing channels that are worth your subscription!
If you're looking for Cartoonist Kayfabe replacements, I like Michael Fitzgerald Troy and occasionally Robert Norton.
Channels that focus on pointless power level ranking or lazily summarizing stories are by far the worst that comictube has to offer.
I’m not trying to be rude but I very much disagree with putting some of these creators here
@@paulakroy2635 Which ones? Also this is purely my subjective opinion, there's nothing to really disagree with
Nailed it!
What ist wrong with Cartoonist Kayfabe? They have beef in some way?
Love strange brain parts
Try Strange brain parts if you're into obscure/ indie comics
A thousand times yes!
Yep, great list but I definitely have to recommend his channel.
Was so happy to see (all of) my favorite (Comic Book) UA-camrs, especially glad to see Salazar Knight, since this man has been criminally underrated in my opinion. Glad to see love all around in this video
Shout out Strange Brain Parts! Very good series on Swamp Thing. Also Implicitly Pretentious! His essays on animated superhero shows are wonderful
"Comics Explained" and "comicstorian" literally saved my soul.
I was so low and completely alone at night with nothing but those 2 ppls voices......I kept forgetting I was depressed lol. That was 9 yrs ago...maybe 8.
I forget my point.
Point is Rob is the goat
@withoutmaster79 yes, he is.
Such a great idea for a video! I didn't know all of these, but I greatly enjoy Casually Comics. I've definitely enjoyed some Comic Drake and and Comic Tropes videos, as well.
COMIC POP! I love that gang! They feel very genuine, their love of comics shines through and Back Issues is one of my favorite shows on UA-cam. It might fall i to read ypu a bed time story category, but it is done with humor and fun, while also delivering us some historical tisbits from time to time. Sal has his own opinions and does not shy away from saying when he was wrong, or just has a personal bias towards something. Comic Pop Returns features grrat stuff as well, including actual creator interviews, reviews etc. Just love those guys.
This is so helpful, thanks! I was aware about half of these, but I'll be subscribing to all the rest immediately. Have often felt that there wasn't enough quality comic book content coming across my feed, and hopefully this'll go a long way towards fixing that
Total Recall Show with Tom Scioli is a very underrated one
Agreed! Love his coverage of Kirby comics!
Tom is really cool and his exuberance for comics is infectious
Love TRS
Very cool of you to try to boost some of your fellow creators. I already follow a lot of the creators you mentioned. My introduction to comic book UA-cam channels was by watching Matt draper's videos. I hope that this inspires others to check all the creators mentioned here. They deserve more love and views.
Edit: one I'm gonna mention that could use more love is the comics cube. The host gets some really incredible Indepth interviews with a lot of great comic creators. It's where I learned that jm dematteis had plans for a character named black crow to be come captain america before his run ended earlier than expected.
Oh wow! I love the character Black Crow and that would've been so cool to see!
@@TitularHeroine highly recommend the interview. Dematteis basically planned to do what they did with Steve and bucky barnes in the aftermath of civil war years before that ever happened.
Awesome, thanks!
Chris from Comics Tropes also has a live stream channel, Pros and Cons, where he goes live every Monday night at 5pm Pacific Time(8pm Eastern, 7 pm Central) and covers comics news, interviews creators and publishers, and draws comic art.
Good on you for making this list. I discovered your channel this past summer when looking for other comic UA-cam channels and really enjoyed your work.
I'm always partial to Comic Tropes and Comic Pop. They're good
Alex Lennen's Ben Reilly Spider-Man's video was incredible. Same with Godzilla Mendoza's Spider-Man videos. Matt Draper's Planetary video did the comic justice.
I'd say Linkara but he can be a bit prickly sometimes and his release schedule is so inconsistent. Guess it depends on the video.
But seriously, thank you for this. There's some channels I haven't heard of and I'm looking forward to checking some out. It shows you've got good character and says a lot of positives about you. Thank you!
Comicpop is my goat
Fr, they just celebrated their 10 year anniversary on UA-cam and they’re still so underrated, they’ll always be one of my favorite channels period
Sal and the gang are terrific
Yeah, im kinda shocked there is no love for Comic Pop, its the one ive settled on
Just so you know my favorites are your channel, Comic Tropes, Strange Brain Parts and Matttt. But I really enjoy other channels like Comic Drake and Owen Likes Comics and I’ll check those other channels you mentioned.
Comic Tropes, Strange Brain Parts and Matttt 🏆🏆🏆
Good list, but Comicpop is a glaring omission. I don't love the dismissal of channels like Comicstorian and even shows like Comicpop's back issues. A lot of people have come into the hobby through Comicstorian's videos and I treat Back Issues like a weekly book club where I can read or reread a story then enjoy a discussion around it, I've also been introduced to a lot of series I probably wouldn't have picked up by watching one of those shows and then picking up a whole run to read. I love the creator interviews and video essays are awesome, but "comic book storytime" has its place too.
Comic Pop should definitely be included in this list
Yeah its bizare they arent included
Very criminal they aren’t included. Sal loves the medium and it bleeds into everything he does.
@@pay7232funfact salt was creating for comics waaaay before UA-cam was invented, he deserves respect
I think when it comes to modern comics this is the best channels. Most channel mentioned here, though I love, tend to focus more on older comics. But for present day comic discussion Comic Pop is a great place. Back Issues is just the tip of the iceberg. Tiffany single handedly made me a fan of X-men and introduced me to A.X.E. I've bought many comics after watching about it on BI and not to forget creator interviews. I like that they build a healthy reading culture.
The channel has evolved so much over time too.
Probably because Sal hates everything he didn't want to include negative thinking.
This was a great idea for a video. I was happy to see so many creators I already enjoyed, and I am excited to try out the new ones. The Salazar Knight recommendation is my favourite as I also was really happy to see him get more views for some videos.
Thankyou for including art specific channels, Elsa is my new goals for my own channel - that production value! :O
I love how everyone respects comic pop
No matter what they’re covering whether it’s the stories or the physical content itself, my most watched comic related UA-camrs are Comics Explained for sure! Watching Rob cover stories is what got me back into the physical content years ago and he’s the Goat for me! Near Mint Condition as an Omni collector myself & GemMintCondition for collectors. Owen Likes Comics & Comic Drake as you mentioned, them following the whole Superman/Shazam/Marvelman/Miracleman Mcfarlene saga is one of my favourite things to watch on UA-cam! Been loving Nando V Movies over the past year, shame he didn’t get a mention! If I want a story from issue to issue then Comic Breakdown! Others like Comicstorian, illuminerdy & The Brave & the Boys for Omni’s and I’ve probably missed more!
Your Islands of Adventure video is one of my favorites of all time. Perfectly encapsulates a feeling I have too.
Glad you are shoutout all these people.
I really appreciate you and all the channels that make contents in this topic, even though it has been blown-up on the last few decades cause of other medias,I still find it really hard to find people that are willing to talk about comics,or like certain characters,or runs, but you guys always keep me engaged.
Thank you for all the creators
Josh, thank you for these recommendations -- the ones I'm not subscribed to, I hadn't even heard of. I really enjoy Strange Brain Parts and blerdwithoutfear's content too, for a lot of the criteria you list at the beginning.
I do listen to a few channels who are basically just story summaries because I simply don't keep up on current comics much. My favorite's probably DopeSpill. And, there are books I've gotten into based only on his stotyteller-type reviews, so there's that.
Comictropes has taught me so much. I also recommend CasuallyComics, Salazar Knight, OwenLovesComics, Absolutely Marvel DC, Blerd without Fear, Comics Drake, and Marville
Salazar Knight is honestly incredible
Comics drake is very whatever and I can’t explain why. I guess his dunking on conservatives points are true but like a in very TikTok way if I could best explain it.
Yeah Blerdwithoutfear is goated :D
@@paulakroy2635 yeah, like hes correct but in like the 2016 "orange man bad" way. kinda lame
@@paulakroy2635 Comics Drake is my favorite comic book youtuber.
So rad to see creators lifting each other up! We're pretty new to the scene (only been putting out episodes since November), but the community has been so inviting and kind already. Really love to see it. 👍
The best thing is seeing that I follow most of these channels and the people behind them are good people. Its also heartwarming to see them all comment on this video! ❤
Right because you know them personally huh? Far out, people never learn…
Other than a storyline aspect to his videos I don't particularly care for, I think Linkara is the comic book youtuber I keep coming back to because he keeps finding ways to look at books from different perspectives, especially as he's gotten older and the landscape as the internet has changed.
He's good! And for all his faults I respect when he makes the top mistakes videos of his own work.
I just wish he was on a more consistent schedule.
Honestly, I think Linkara’s best videos are very good especially because he points out things a lot of creators miss. Secret Empire review is honestly great at how it identifies things like how thematically shallow it is, padding, etc. because on the surface plot seems not bad but when you get down issue by issue it really sucks
I actually kinda miss his storyline stuff. It was fun. He seems to have dropped that in recent years though. But his consistency is amazing.
Linkara is good when you don't have OneyPlays idiots trying to mock him.
@TimothyCollins That was due to outside factors. He couldn't move forward until he finished Contest of Champions, and that got dozens of delays. Now he's trying to get a backlog while working on other projects so he can fulfill his "52 episodes released this year" promise.
missed out on giving a shoutout to the goats over at comic pop on their 10th year anniversary
Thank you so much for these recommendations!🤘🏼🔥🔥 lots of new channels to check out!
love seeing Salazar Knight getting recognition
If I remember correctly, Alex Lenen is related to J. Michael Straczynski.
No wonder he is able to analyze comics to such a precise degree
Eric the Mage, Smokey's Videos, Merry Marvelite, Casual Comics, Venxous, Implicitly Pretentious and Comic Drake are some of some of my favorite comic book youtubers on this platform. Please give all these people a watch. They make amazing content filled with passion for the comics and the stories they tell.
I can't tell you how honored I am to see my name at the top of your list.
From the bottom of my heart, thank you. It genuinely makes me feel like I have made a difference in this tiny little section of UA-cam.
@@EricTheMageHoly shit no problem you make incredible videos. They come off as well researched, funny, and welcoming to all kinds of fans. It's generally refreshing to watch a video and come out of with more passion to dig into the books, games, and movies. Keep up the great work. ❤
It’s so fun coming to the comments and seeing so many of the pages I subscribe to popping in for a comment: it’s like watching the avengers have that splash page moment in NY
Josh, you've done any number of videos of which you should be rightly proud, and this one ranks very highly indeed.
Reminds me of the early days of Fandoms when fans were just happy to meet and share and enjoy their passion with likeminded devotees - something it's often hard to see in today's environment of split fandoms, cliques, gatekeepers, cancel-culture, etc..
So refreshing, respectful, generous and, to use an old-fashioned term, just really very nice.
More please! :)
Comics matter, keep it thoro, thinking critical, matttt, mullet-man, tons more. I never have a problem finding great comic channels. Going to check out some on your list. Thanks.
Comics explained, comic pop, comic book herald, blerd without fear, merry marvalite, casually comics, fresh comic stories, new sage and comic tropes are my favourites along with most in this video.
Thank you for making this video! It’s always good to hear about new channels
Just want to say as someone only tangentially interested in comics, I’m glad I found your channel Josh.Your content is very well made the effort you put into it really shows.
I hope the algorithm eventually rewards you properly - I seem to remember also having the impression that there weren’t many good comic youtubers when I did a few searches, due to what UA-cam puts at the top of the search results.
Comic Tropes isn't the best Comic UA-camr, Chris is just one of the most genuine people to be on the platform & happen to make videos about comics that he wants to. Pros & Cons is a better Comic UA-cam channel imo
i see what you did there!
Absolutely
This was a cool thing to do! I love your channel and all the ones that focus on artists, techniques, and art analysis.
My guy uploads again! What a great day! Thanks for the recommendations Josh, I will check out the one's that are new to me. Sidenote, I'm still waiting on that Iron man 2 comic inspirations video...
Does he really not include Comic Pop?
Yo where is comicpop? I mean it is nice to see other creators and Matt Draper on here. His videos on comics and films are a lot of fun. Plus he loves to use The Midnight an Synthwave.
BUT.
It feels novice, and weird to make a huge video about this comic creator topic... and then leave off Sal and the Comicpop crew with purposeful exclusion.
When anyone ever asks me at the comic-shop to suggest. It's always Comicpop.
I was nervous about jumping into making comic book videos. As you mentioned, it didn't really feel like a space I was comfortable entering. Specifically due to what I wanted to talk about and why. But I'm stoked to be considered a part of this facet of the community. There are some great creators on this list and you've introduced me to a couple I didn't know about. This was sorely needed, thank you for putting this together.
Hey Matty! I've enjoyed a lot of your videos and you can blame Josh for introduced me to your channel on his discord server, keep up the good work dude!
@@azozazoz9196 once upon a time, Josh's channel was smaller than mine and I was the one shouting him out! If only UA-cam were as good at promoting us as we are of each other 🥰
@@MattyStokedNo way! haha now it make sense, hopefully someday the almighty algorithm boost your channel 🙏
Thanks for doing this! I’ve been looking for more comics content and your suggestions do not disappoint.
