      Yes... It was 😊 I actually watched and recorded this game on VHS from channel 36 which was Sports Channel Chicago with Tom Dore and Johnny Red Kerr calling the game. The 1997 draft class was by in large the last class that played and respected the game. The NBA is unrecognizable now

    By far one of my favorite interviews ever.he sooo unselfish "When im out there with michael i let him have the spotlight" a player of his calibur is willing to be under someone else is truely amazing.And this is a dude who could average 30 but ok with the 21pts per game.Scottie pippen i tip my hat to you.Favorite player.

    This was an awesome Bulls team. They were on a mission to win the championship and no one was going to stand in their way. You also have to look at how talented that Orlando Magic team was with Oneal, Hardaway and co. Was a fun time to watch the NBA.

    • @Onlyrealmusic4life
      @Onlyrealmusic4life 9 років тому

      Niczer0 I have a lot of reasons for why I think its possible but I can summarize it pretty well by asking, do you think MJ would have won as many rings as he did without Pippen? And do you think Pippen could have won some rings without Jordan. I wouldn't be surprised if MJ only won 3 rings without Pippen. And I could see Pippen winning a few rings on his own . The only difference is Pippen might have still been a second option somewhere else whereas MJ was always the number 1 option.

    • @FrYLocK41
      @FrYLocK41 9 років тому +1

      Onlyrealmusic4life
      Lol the better question is do you think Pippen would have won any rings at all if there was no Jordan. I mean Jordan won ALL SIX Finals MVPs, not the other way around. The fair comparison is their overall impact, don't just nit pick certain areas, and obviously Jordan's OVERALL impact was the main reason they won so many championships.

    • @Hero-3
      @Hero-3 9 років тому +3

      +Niczer0 Nah, Jordan was the media and NBA darling. Pippen deserved the MVP in the 1st finals against the Lakers. W out Pippen disrupting Magic, Scott, and Worthy. Remember Defense wins championships but is often overlooked to the glitz and glamour of scoring. There are many scorers in this game but not many Elite defenders with effective offense. Jordan was elite on D and O too but not as capable of stopping as many Lakers that first championship. I think it was close for both the Jazz championships as well. the flu game is what made Jordan win it that year and the other year if Pippen didn't pull his back and miss a lot of minutes I think he would've deserved that one too. The first one though should have been Pippen or at least co-mvp's

    At 1:32 you see one of the quickest change of pace moves you'll ever see from anyone. Jordan was 33 years old here and he explodes in the blink of an eye past Anderson, leaving him flat-footed. I remember being amazed by this play when I saw it when the game originally aired.

    The funny thing is in regard to all the comparisons that this 72-10 Bulls team gets vs the Warriors is that the Magic in a way was a version of the Warriors of today because they we're run and gun team with big time talent and all-star power and we're loaded so this magic team does parallel a lot the Warriors team of today and gives you a pretty good idea of how things would turn out if they met.

    • @tooBlessed847
      @tooBlessed847 6 років тому

      I will say though in all fairness to the Magic they we're without Shaq and their real Achilles heel was that they had no decent back up center.

    MJ said it best during his HOF induction - in those videos when you saw me, you saw Scottie Pippen - he and Scottie completed each other on the court - every award, every title won by MJ has a big Scottie Pippen factor in it - when we lived those 90's games, it was clear that Scottie was the team leader while MJ was the team star....

    Chuck Daly (R.I.P) loved him some Scottie Pippen lol. It's ironic how big a fan he was of Pippen considering how the Pistons used to beat the shit out of him in those playoff series when the Bulls were trying to get over the hump. I wonder how much Daly's coaching had to do with that.

    How awkward was it for Scottie sitting next to Chuck Daly? I know Chuck gushed over him during the game, but I know all those battles with Detroit made Scottie feel some way. I just realized that Scottie played for him on the Dream Team in 1992. So they probably squashed a lot of their problems. Chuck & MJ even became pretty close after that experience.

      Daly went so far as to say Pippen was the best player on the Dream Team (his quote not mine!) - "I remember talking to the late Chuck Daly after that 1992 Dream Team and Daly raving about Pippen. Daly said he knew Pippen was a potential MVP candidate type player, but said Pippen was the best player on the 1992 team. “I know Michael’s the best player, but Pippen was the best player on that team,” admired Daly." DALY LOVED Pippen's game...

  • @gf4670
    @gf4670 13 років тому +1

    @cenecadent Yea it would be interesting to watch. Scottie was a better defender than LeBron, and Lebron may be a better scorer (but the PPG are skewed since Pip played w/MJ and LeBron with nobody til last year). Scottie was probably quicker and more agile but LeBron has more bulk. Scottie's defense would definitely mess with LeBron's offensive game a lot, plus Scottie had a reliable 18-footer that LeBron doesn't - deny LeBron the rim and he tends to jack 3s.
