It really depends on the current that you are working with. The more current the heavier the jig should be to make sure that you can get to the bottom quicker. I'd say we usually are using 1 to 1.5 Oz Bucktails from the Surf but sometimes we will have to bump that up to go with the conditions we are dealing with. Hope that helped!
Great video. My favorite lures for stripers are the bucktail, sand eel and flukes. I was using a whole live mackerel this one day when I was after a 40 plus inch striper but I hooked a great white shark instead while fishing fom my kayak. Part of my video was recently used on the Discovery Channel episode called The Great White North. Toss me a subscription if you like, I only need a couple more to get 1000 :) Cheers
The good ole bucktail!!! Most versatile lure there is
Ahh... just noticed you're from Goose Hummock. Nice! Thank you for this demo. I'm-a rig some up just like this.
caught a 25 inch striper off nauset today around sunset using a white bucktail bouncing off the bottom, first fish of the summer for me!
Great stuff once again. Love the tank
Nice video! I’m going to try this but I don’t have a tail like you do, will it still work?
Great video man! Still trying to catch my first Striper. I’m gonna grab some of these and give it a try.
Good luck! having a Bucktail on should hopefully do the trick!
This was dope
Nice work
What ounce bucktail do you recommend for the surf?
