Original Song by Philip Russom: "Please Turn Around"

Here's an original song I composed in 2023, while taking an online course in songwriting. The instructor told us to write a song based on the so-called "turn around" chord progression (eg, in C major that's chords on the roots C,A,D,G or C,A,F,G). I had no trouble composing a melody and rhythmic feel, but I had no clue for lyrics. Eventually, I took the technical term "turn around" as a prompt, then imagined a relationship story based on that. Hence, the resulting song "Please Turn Around," about a couple breaking up. I hope you like it--literally.

FYI = small known fact is that I am a songwriter myself and am often lyric-challenged (I also like you and others engineer, produce and record my tunes and others … I cut my pro teeth at the Record Plant in Sausalito (1977-80)… I hate to admit it, but ChatGPT has helped me rough out a good number of recent crude lyric ideas and then I polish them up … who would a thunk (?)
