You show your respect for the kids by trying to help them see the truth so they can be empowered to make healthier, ethical choices that align with how they feel at their core. Youe strength and resilience in the face of opposition are truly commendable. You remained firm despite being outnumbered and confronted with challenging arguments. Your dedication to veganism is inspiring and serves as a reminder of the importance of standing up for what you believe in.
Regarding the student's comment about the cost of vegan meals, it's important to note that vegan food can be affordable, especially when you shop smart and plan ahead. For instance, convenient options like Uncle Ben's rice pouches or flavored lentil and bean pouches can serve as excellent bases for a quick and nutritious lunch. These can be easily complemented with fresh vegetables or a side salad for a well-rounded meal.
There are many options for affordable vegan lunches. Pre-made vegan sandwiches can be found at many supermarkets and convenience stores. Salad bars offer a variety of vegetables, grains, and plant-based proteins. Vegan soup and salad options are available at many restaurants and cafes. Vegan wraps filled with fresh vegetables and a plant-based protein can be a quick and easy lunch. Leftovers from dinner can be brought to work for a simple and satisfying meal. A fruit salad with nuts and seeds can be a healthy and satisfying vegan meal, and hummus with pita bread is a delicious and nutritious vegan option.
Prepping meals and packing lunches can be simple and budget-friendly for vegans. Making your own sandwiches is a great way to save money, and it's easy to customise them with your favourite fillings like hummus, avocado, roasted vegetables, or even vegan cream cheese and cheese slices, which are widely available.
Bringing snacks to work or school is another way to stay on track without breaking the bank. There are plenty of affordable vegan snacks in the UK, such as Oreos (yes, they’re accidentally vegan!), Propercorn Sweet & Salty popcorn, and most crisps, including Walkers roasted chicken flavour. Nakd Bars, available in various flavours, are also a popular choice. Salted rice cakes with peanut butter or Graze vegan snack packs, which include options like nuts and dried fruit mixes, are convenient, satisfying snacks that are easy to pack up and take with you.

The dynamics while talking are a bit sad as you can that mostly the giys try to play it cool or be disrespectful (like the guy grabbing the chair near the end).

Just look at the wild forebears to all of those species, we don’t have aurochs anymore, but if we did, no-one would get anywhere near them, let alone try and squeeze some milk out of one. Wild boar can and regularly do harm to any humans foolish to get close. Even a wild red junglefowl can cause a lot of harm.

A human "meat-eater" eats animals because they are available in abstract forms of"meat".
      Meat-eaters aren't Carnivores or predators
If you want to disprove this reality you should catch & eat an animal alive and film it.
      Historically people have eaten animals:
      A) to survive/ they didn't have plant foods as an option.
      No access to agriculture, hunter-gatherers.
      B) because they are rich, have a choice, choose to eat animals.
      C) because culture has normalised eating animals even though we aren't carnivores or omnivores and have serious diseases and health issues long term from eating animals.
Eating animals isn't necessary nutritionally, it's fundamentally deadly.
If we had the systems for properly consuming animals we would eat them raw, but you'd have illnesses from that wouldn't you?
Eating them cooked doesn't remove the reality of illness & disease either.
Instead of raw consumption of animals we skin the animal, cut the flesh in portions that can be held in your hand, and cook it with plant seasonings to "eat like our ancestors did".
Those same Ancestors would be disappointed at you falling for the consumerism scam companies use to profit off of your ignorance, then off of your bad health with pills, surgeries, medical procedures. They would know that they didn't eat meat because they liked it or they wanted to, they ate meat because they had no other choice.
As for people living in Civilisation later on, for a long time the rich (%1) were the ones regularly eating meat as a luxury, while the peasants ate grains, fruits, vegetables.
The rich always died sooner than the peasants in terms of life expectancy from diseases developed from eating dead flesh (meat), animal breast milk (dairy), & chicken periods (eggs)
Cultures around the world with great "cultural food" are holding back the people that follow these cultures from progressing as a people, by trapping them in short-lived, disease-filled lives of 50-70 years.
You might be here for a good time, not a long time, but some of us appreciate having good health, no disease, no joint pain, good gut health, regular excretions, no smelly farts/ body odour & a healthy brain from adequate nutrition.
For the human body, animal flesh is highly acidic, fattening, cholesterol-laden, artery-clogging, lymph-clotting, mucus-forming, constipating, difficult to digest, full of worms/ parasites/ bacteria/ metabolic waste/ hormones all of which breed disease.
