Jacob is seriously lacking in some important areas. Doesn't seem to understand that when you're a deckhand, there's an order to things and yelling at a Captain and making bs excuses isn't going to do you any favors if you're trying to make name in the industry. All these guys know one another and word travels fast.
They have zero respect for authority, they feel they're entitled to everything.

I can't really justify this because he clearly has a bit of an anger issue, but I've always figured Kieth is the smartest Captain of the bunch. Seems like a very sharp guy.
Keith can be an a** and the entire show audience dislike him, but there is no doubt he gets the job DONE and seriously knows his stuff as captain. There is a reason he has stood in the business for so long with only his brother (Monte Colburn) as captain in the bairdi season, where he is also the best captain in the fleet consistently pulling off the best numbers. The Colburn brother can have some of the worst boats to work on the fleet, but it is a matter of fact they always have been regarded as some of the biggest catches and most knowledgeable captains.

Nope, I don't believe in that. The way I was raised respect is given, and respect is lost. I automatically give everyone respect, doesn't have to be earned first. Now if you lose it, it's on you.

The reason I stopped watching this show a long time ago was that every time they’d roll out and “if we don’t get on the crab, we are out of business”, then when they don’t bring in the crab they are still going out the next episode.

Keith Coburn is just an awful person. He's the reason I record Deadliest Catch so I can fast forward through his parts. I can't stand watching him. If he's on the screen, I either fast forward or change the channel
