Jacob clearly suffers from a personality disorder, it's very clear to see with his interactions with others and his back story

Wrong. It was a brilliant move by Jacob. He realized that they were trying to make him seem incompetent for the show, so he decided to use the hash brown issue to make the captain realize how petty he was being. Jacob never snitched or cried about being targeted, he chose to lash out at the captain for pawning him as incompetent for the show. That young man is going places!

Yes he was near the danger ropes, but so was the other guys as well. He where told afterwards dont involve yourself. Let me do it. It should have been the end there maybe some talk afterwards about the dangers. But now the captein blames him for the dangerous situation. But its obvius he is not. Also the captein show dislike for him. I would hate working under that captain

Nah. That was a great chess move. They were making Jacob seem incompetent for the show and he wasn't responsible for the improper knot tie. Funny, but in all reality, he is very good at what he does and will make an excellent captain in time. He's earned everything that he has and wouldn't be there if he hadn't.
Coast guard says you can only have a crew member up 12 hours and require 12 hours of rest . You can split it up however you want to but it amazes me these guys just deal with 20 hour+ shifts
