Damn man. I'm a new dad and seeing What I would consider "a man's man" Wild Bill realize his failure as a father is both eye opening and scary. You can see him holding back tears and he either doesn't know how or just can't tell his son he loves him. His son is very nice about it but you can see the resentment. Fathers are important fellas and you can never get lost time back, be there for your kids.

They have a huge clashing of personalities. Zack was raised by his mom and she had issues with Bills lifestyle. Once Zack got into the business, his dad expected that his son would be the exact same thing he was and the teaching would be easy. Zack resented his dad and bill thought finally admitting what he did wrong (in a way that sounded like he was just repeating what he’d heard and not that he was actually sorry) would be all he needed to do or say to fix it and move on. Both men basically came right to each others door and one extra step by either one of them probably would’ve fixed some major issues. Bill really apologizing or saying he loved him. Or Zack trying to actually tell him the real issue instead of beating around the bush and giving off handed comments. Granted, bill did try to help Zack a few times and Zack was being a child about the lessons. Oil and water.

@@jdwylde7 Yeah, but to Bill it's all about Crab and money... OBVIOUSLY that was far more important to him than quality time with the family, as he thought: As long as i keep the money coming in, they'll be happy, fed and have a roof over their heads.. Such a capitalistic, one-street mindset doesn't resonate well with most people as it strips away the human/personal aspect of life and reduces it to nothing but money and work... We have a saying where i'm from: You either live to work, or you work to live. Bill obviously Lives to work

That greenhorn in the brenna a made all those guys more money whilst simultaneously being harassed by a “veteran” who walked around and barely did his job. Seniority doesn’t mean a god damn thing. Angel Hernandez is a good example of being a “veteran” with “tenure” but absolutely sucking at a job.

The Wild Bill / Zach situation hits way too close to home for me.. This is so eerily similar to the relationship I have with my dad, it actually blows my mind.. watching their interaction as a third party was pretty eye opening for me. I totally understand where Zach is coming from. He wants so badly to be able to learn from his dad and more importantly have that ideal father / son type of bond, but time and time again Wild Bill breaks his son's heart and spirit. Deep down it's obvious Wild Bill does indeed love Zach and want the best for him, but he's totally burned the bridge. At a certain point there's just no coming back from it. And as heartbreaking as it is for both sides, it's not something that can be fixed anymore. There's still love but there's no potential for a meaningful relationship.
I'm literally crying typing this. I see it all over Zach's face, all he wants is his dad to be proud of him.. but he knows deep down he never will be. The "you are your mother's son" line was the final blow. Wild Bill is completely unable to understand how he has broken his son's heart, he genuinely feels like Zach has no reason to feel hurt.. which makes the pain Zach feels even worse. Wild Bill tried to muster up a half-hearted apology but he can't stop himself from essentially calling his son soft. He just can't wrap his head around the fact that Zach is not able to let it go. He would if he could.

That’s when you either let a crew run over you and let them do as they please or you make sure the problem is solved and one man can destroy a whole crews attitude so if it is necessary the argument and the problem needs to be resolved where everybody drops anything started negatively by one employee.

I had a rig crew that tried to get me fired because I didn't "pay them" when I pulled out my ticket the consultant had signed and showed our billed hours that ended really quickly. Lol one of the hands that initiated all of that was in the passenger seat and when I pulled out my ticket book and slapped it down in front of the manager and asked him how I didn't pay them he just put his head down cuz he knew he had lied and his whole story got shot tf to crap. Needless to say I didn't get fired, the oil company got involved and told my company that if they messed with me they'd release all the rigs we had out for them and get me hired with another company.
