Sweetwater...no bueno. Normally, Jeffrey's tone is really good and he's a savvy audiophile and gear nerd. He knows his stuff. Something went wrong with the audio in this video because it sounds TERRIBLE. He mentions a subtle delay but all you hear is a screaming trail, louder than what he's actually playing. Take down the video or fix the audio. For real.
Sounds like they've recorder the ambient audio without mic and any mixing with cam always far and not aligned with the amps. That's why it's captured only the dirty and noise from the sound.
I like Jesus Culture. They have some really nice stuff. Not the most interesting music to listen to, as is the case with most p&w guitar (I should know. I am one). But a great band with a great ministry. Awesome video. Thanks!!!
No fault of Jeffrey, but his tone wasn't recorded well at all in this video. Idk what went wrong. It happens sometimes and is a bummer when that happens. Maybe that's why they took so long to post this video. At least they posted it, I guess.
I think he send a dry signal to one amp and a wet signal to the other. If so than that would mean that in the mixing process they mixed one amp lowered than the other. Or just simply didn't record both amps while filming this.
That might actually be the fault of the guy in the video. Idk what he meant by the repeats aren’t audible cause they were literally louder than when he’d initially hit the notes.
Good God. He's the best worship guitarist of our generation with one of the most iconic and recognizable tones..... and you just killed his tone and made a fool of him.
I can't stand most worship guitarists for the this reason (the excessive cash they spend on delays and reverbs). The only worship guitarist whose reverb I complimented was using a Boss RV-6 with the modulated reverb. Don't buy a strymon unless you're planning to use all of its functionality. If you're going to only use a hall setting, get something cheaper. I use a lot of Boss pedals, and I get lots of compliments.
@@Aaron-zh4kj Its all about compliments!...We get whatever works for us and what's within our budget. RV-6 is great, Big Sky is better. H90 is murders both. If someone wants to spend $4k on a pedalboard, let em! It's their decision. I could use the same logic for buying an RV-6 and only using the modulated verb setting, just buy a Joyo Reverb....lol.
@@therealcalebrz Looking back at that comment, and I wouldn't it word that way now. Was a little harsh on them. lol. Yeah, I think I agree. It just never ceased to amaze me how many guys would drop $500 plus on a strymon big sky, only to not know how to use reverb correctly (they'd pick the most boring hall setting and/or mix it so high, you'd never hear the guitar). For the record, I bought the Boss before joyo had a lot of pedals. lol
I feel weird seeing all these big worship pedal boards, I literally only have one pedal I use for worship, it's the tech 21 flyrig rk5, it's got boost, drive, delay, spring Reverb, and a sans amp feature which just allows you to change the character of your amp if you don't necessarily have an amp you like the tone of, it's an amazing pedal, the only other pedal I would ever get is a strymon big sky because i am a reverb freak, but other than that, the rk5 is all I meed
Almost sounds like he was playing dry/wet in his stereo rig and something went wrong in the mix but I don't think he has ever run dry/wet. Something bad happened lol To whoever made the mistake, it happens to the best of us
Yes, the strymon stuff, as well as boss dd500, allow for some eq. Also, the mix is bad, you're hearing the wet amp too much, so you're hearing all that eq post delay. In the room, it was a verry little amount of post eq, but here it sounded off
It was the sound guys issue. You're hearing the wet amp over the dry. That eq change is the post delay EQ, not the guitar tone. So we're not hearing the guitar tone when the delay is on unfortunately
Look, you have youtube and all the internet. start with youtube and reviews with the cheapest stuff and work your way up. Joyo is one company that sells $30 pedals that often have the same circuitry and chips of their name-brand counterparts (ex: their tubescreamer clone). I don't like all their pedals, but again, that's what the internet is for. Case in point, it doesn't have to be expensive. Each player has to decide what they want to spend more money on in effects and gear. For me, My most expensive pedals are my modulations. My delays, reverbs, and overdrives/distortions are pretty cheap relatively speaking. It's a question of necessity too. Are you playing in a band where you need high quality effects in your chain? Which ones are most crucial? I'd say start there. And as you get money, upgrade what you need to.
What is the very small volume pedal he is using? And this is not his "big" midi pedalboard. Nice demo, but would have been nice to have some lead lines too in the demo, especially for the "dirt" demos.
He flew out to that event so he only brought his mini board. I also don't know if his Mastermind board was finished when they recorded this video series.
Brother! With the good lord's toneful song in ma heart, I don't need pedals. Or tone- who needs it, I got spirit. Or a guitar cuz I got god wailing on his '63 strat. And clearly, this cat ought to be giving more moola to the needy- I don't need this egocentric kick to get close to allah. Allah Akbar hail Jesus and love ya Buddha.
What most people don't know is that skinny jeans if tight enough can be used as an alternative to a compression pedal.
LMAFO
What he said. I could barely hear the delay. Amazing

Sweetwater - you should check the dry signal on the recording the the delays. It's not mixed well at all for this video.
Maybe out of phase?
his volume pedal is nearly off for most of the video for some reason
I like Jesus Culture. They have some really nice stuff. Not the most interesting music to listen to, as is the case with most p&w guitar (I should know. I am one). But a great band with a great ministry. Awesome video. Thanks!!!

More drive! I like the compressor a lot, thinking of getting one myself
I feel so bad for him, the wet amp obviously got a little too much love from the engineer by accident
"can't really hear it, but it's there" mmmhmm
Exactly....
“I have the drive turned up a lot more on this pedal... somewhere around 10 or 11 o’clock.”
Woah now, don’t get crazy there with that drive knob.
Haha...that DELAY though.
You should do more vids like this!
Seriously, what's up with the audio? It sounds horrible!
It sounds kinda like the guitar audio is coming through his headset...which sounds really terrible...clearly.
No fault to the guy in the video but who ever mixed the audio did a bad job
That might actually be the fault of the guy in the video. Idk what he meant by the repeats aren’t audible cause they were literally louder than when he’d initially hit the notes.
@@nicolasgibbons4683 Sounds a lot like sweetwater only took audio from one cab.
Sounds like a room mic
I like to see the AMT volume pedal!! Thats what I use! Highly Highly Recomend It!
I wish he would have mentioned it.
Awesome
Is this a shreds video?
Are we hearing only his headset mic, not the amp mic when he plays? Sounds like something went seriously wrong in the mix-down process.
Good God. He's the best worship guitarist of our generation with one of the most iconic and recognizable tones..... and you just killed his tone and made a fool of him.
I wouldn’t say he’s the best...
Great.
Lmao said can’t hear the delay but it’s louder than his actual sound
Sweetwater, pleaese do one of these with hillsong united
I don't know if there's a problem with my headphone. It is bassy to hear his voice.
Nothing says "I love Jesus" like owning a ton of pedals
Best comment ever. Hahaha!

That’s good but everyone can’t do whatever they want. That’s the beauty of music
Nice
Yup, there is definitely something wrong with the audio. Jeffrey you good, Sweetwater tsk, tsk.
Yep, amps are out of phase. Stereo reverb sounds good but the mono signal is losst
Almost sounds like he was playing dry/wet in his stereo rig and something went wrong in the mix but I don't think he has ever run dry/wet. Something bad happened lol To whoever made the mistake, it happens to the best of us
sounds to me like there is some phasing issues with the amps.
where's the knob for the jhs prestige???
More useful video than Jeffrey’s tone course
that Strymon seems to also add a good bit of EQ.

Such a shame. Really great rundown of his rig but just recorded/mixed poorly
how to build pedal board :
1. be rich
no, in sweetwater we don't use "be rich". "be blessed".

Step one: buy helix.
Rinaldo Jonathan be blessed and be rich in His blessings then build a rig like Nigel Hendroff 😂
“I don’t really want the delay to be audible”
Next minute…uh ok. Well that was the opposite of not audible
Fix the audio
What is the very small volume pedal he is using? And this is not his "big" midi pedalboard. Nice demo, but would have been nice to have some lead lines too in the demo, especially for the "dirt" demos.
It's an AMT Little Loud Mouth volume pedal. I've thought about getting one, but I've heard it's not very good for swells
Amps out of phase?
Sounds like he runs a wet/dry rig and the audio engineer didn't set the levels of the two mics properly. Big ol oof
The amps are out of phase I'm guessing.
Should have played the Falcon.
$400 Delay pedal so he can barely hear it?
"Subtle" delay... sure
daai deley was op 80%...iets is weird
This is not even half of his real pedalboard. Did they not let him use it cuz he has pedals that sweetwater does not sell?
He flew out to that event so he only brought his mini board. I also don't know if his Mastermind board was finished when they recorded this video series.
JESUS CULTURE... I don't trust it. OSIRIS CULTURE DIONYSUS CULTURE at least do the original, not a cheap imitation .
bad
