    Go to the off setting and then set fan speed to 1 or 2 then when it goes off it only turns down fan to 1 or 2 depending on setting, constant flow. You need to look at how the fan works before putting stuff like this out, the fans are stunning and cut down on energy too.

      Agree he doesn't understand the off settings regardless what controller. I use the reverse of the high and low temp setting so I have a band the fan is on the "on speed" and the a constant low speed in the "off setting" when outside of my ideal temp. I use this type of setting for my lung room intake.

      I have a grow room with an intake fan that cycles on a timer but I would love to cut that power consumption out if I can because In Reality it's not a sealed room so that fan is not really necessary. So if I was to implement this tech I'd be able to do so. Is this controller affordable, or no offense are you trying to get rich on the idea?

    the way around this is to run a humidifier in the tent, or pumping into the tent, from outside of it. Use a humidity controller and run it 1% above the high humidity setting on the AC Infinity controller. It works wonders!

    • @majorleaguegrowing
      @majorleaguegrowing 2 місяці тому

      that is a decent idea, i would worry about sensor placement and intake placement, if there is a wet spot it could form mold, or if something happens to the sensor it could give a misreading and ruin the crop.
      i think the ambient humidity in the room could be 60% and just run a fan on low speed 90% of the time. take a regular timer and give it a couple cool off periods so the motor isn't running 24/7
      the speed just needs to be high enough to provide enough CFM to have good turnover for cubic air circulation.
      this vid talks about outside environment but really there are 3 layers of environment.. tent > ambient house environment > exterior environment. the most important thing would be to dial in the ambient house environment. if the environment of the grow room is good than the grow would be good, the air intake would always have ideal temp and humidity

      Both controller will do it. Just set your "off" speed to be whatever cfm you need. The benefit of 67 allows the ramp up of speeds based on your set temp and/or humidity and how much it's exceeded. Its also much easier to program with the app. I have 3 67’s used for various applications and I think they are great short of having no wifi connection.

    This doesn't make any sense? The outside weather shouldn't impact the environment of the tent unless you leave the door or window open 25/7, or if you have very poor sealing on the window. Ultimately you should monitor, and you can control, the outside environment of the tent (the room the tent is in). This can easily be done with a variety of tools (humidifier, dehumidifier, a fan, opening the window for certain amounts of time, a heater, etc).

    First of all his the basis for his testing is wrong. He thinks the fan pumps air into the tent, when it actually draws it out. Duh the outside climate will affect the climate inside the tent, that's why you don't pump the outer air into your tent. A grow tent is essentially it's own climate, hence why you control what goes on inside the tent with heat and humidity. Solving for airflow is as simple as adding an intake vent or two on the lower bottom of your tent.

    Its great you built your own smart system and everything. But talking cr@p about AC Infinity is not good sportsmanship. I mean how would you feel if someone asked why your controller plus fan kit is overpriced at $300? You can buy two CLOUDLINE T6s at that price. You basically have a cheap $5 AC Square Axial fan and put a nose in the front and back of it to mimic a duct fan. You do realize axial fans have a low static pressure ratings and cant push air through carbon filters right?

    • @HomeGrowEngineering
      @HomeGrowEngineering  2 роки тому +5

      I will say the truth, that my system costs much more because I'm a small shop hand-building in Australia. I cannot compete on price against a large company. But I beat them 10x on quality. They can never built an app like mine.
      I'd also say that my controller manages the whole tent. Including light and drying.
      Its actually the very definition of good Sportmanship to build a new product and compete. I have every right to comment on the weaknesses of the incumbent.
      I have measured my axial fan in myother videos. It easily pushes air through 2 carbon filters, I agree my fan is not the greatest yet. That's why I made my controller work with other fans, too. Any EC fan of any size will work.
      All the units I see on their website contain the old controller. I will check the new one to see if what you're saying is correct.

  • @SoberAddiction
    @SoberAddiction 2 роки тому +4

    Oh man, let's unpack all this. It seems like you're relying on your controller to do absolutely everything for you. Where are your tent fans for air circulation? Are you conditioning the air in the room that your tent is in? Do you have a humidifier and dehumidifier to control your RH? Is your tent exhausting directly into the room its sitting in? These are all variables that to be addressed first. My Grow closet is upstairs. It vents into my attic. It pulls fresh air when needed from the room that it is in that has an AC unit keeping the room within a temp range. I have a humidifier in the room to treat the air as needed. I have a dehumidifier in the grow closet to keep the RH where it needs to be. I run my lights at night to keep the closet cooler than if I ran my lights during the day. I have two 6" AC infinity fans for my intake and exhaust. I have worked to design my grow space to be as stable as possible and I can say that I don't have the problems you apparently have had.

    I like my fan to run at the same speed day or night for air exchange. I only change the speed from winter to summer to utilize the heat from the lamps. I use $30 inkbirds to control the rest one for heat, cool, and one for humidifying or dehumidify all constant regardless of outside weather conditions.

    It would make me just feel smarter using something like this, and it would make any plant feel better more of the time! I can see there are times when plants could suffer and be set back under certain conditions when a fan isn't running, this makes a way for one less thing to go wrong.

    People are suggesting that the new AC-67 controller fixes the problems. I also heard from many sources that AC INfinity now sends out the new controller by default. That's good.
    Still. most people have the old controller which is not good. Luckily, it can get upgraded either with the AC-67 (cheap) or my Tenti controller (expensive).
    Also, 3 people have reached out and said that using VPD (Vapour Pressure Deficit) to calculate airflow. I think that is a great idea. www.cannabissciencetech.com/view/understanding-vpd-and-transpiration-rates-cannabis-cultivation-operations

    You can't control micro climates properly. You should be controlling your grow room temperature and not the tent. The controler is pointless for the most part unless you have a closed recirculating system for co2. Even then it's better to have timers programed. I think for your small tent its pointless. This is more about proper set up than not working your title is a lack of knowledge
